Leo: Think we had an issue with the MySQL table that maintains the ban list. A server restart seems to have corrected things. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I'm pretty good at building and Id be really happy to help, so could you let me know how I can join?

There's no whitelist, so you can simply hop on by connecting to mc.crafti.ca.

However, before you're given permissions to build on the main project worlds, we first request a quick demonstration that you know what you're doing on our plot world, Elysium. You can get there either by exploring your way to the World Gallery and stepping into the beacon in the middle, or simply by typing /plot auto from anywhere in the world.

    IP: MC.CRAFTI.CA

    Do you like building?

Do you like building big things?

Do you like building big things with other people?

That's pretty much all I can offer here. You want your fancy beast-feeding or wool races or what have you, this isn't the place. Damn kids and their mods. If you want to work on big long-term projects and you're good at building, this is where you'll want to be. The goal of the server is to create massive builds in separate worlds devoted to each individual project. Then, once the builds are completed, we go through them and tool them into Adventure maps for eventual release into the wild, so as best to soak up the accolades of 9-year-olds across the world.

Our current project is LINDBLUM, the mountaintop fortress from Final Fantasy 9.

Lindblum is a highly developed and overbuilt city from Final Fantasy 9 built with a hybrid of fantasy architecture and steampunk aesthetics. It is situated atop a mountain peak, and is fortified on all sides by its grand walls and towers. The city is primarily designed to be accessed via airship. It is divided into four 'districts' - the Industrial District, the Business District, the Theater District, and the Grand Castle.

There is a project page dedicated to Lindblum on Planet Minecraft that you can find here.

Here's some pictures, though, to pique your interest.

A look at some test houses to populate inside the city once we get the outer walls done:

As an example of individual buildings that we're pulling out of the game, here's the Airship Station from the Theater District:

There's a few of us hammering away on this every day, and I'd love to get more people on board, so if you think you have the building chops, please give the server a look!

I've made myself a nice 32x pack for use on my server, and I set the url to it in server.properties in the hopes that people who connect to the server would have the opportunity to download the pack for themselves when they join.

Unfortunately, it seems like everyone who has downloaded it that way so far has been having absolutely crazy visual issues with it. Here's some examples:

Naturally, I didn't build my bridges out of cobweb, tripwire hooks and lillypads.

However, when people download the pack from the same link as in the server.properties file and install it manually by dropping the .zip into their texture pack folder, the pack works without issue.

    What's going on, here?

posted a message on Crafti.ca - Creative Community Worldbuilding

I've been involved in Minecraft since , and I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it over the years, but nothing approaches the sort of fun that I've had when I'm working on a huge project with friends. It's with that in mind that I established Crafti.ca, a creative minecraft server with one defining goal: Collaborative worldbuilding.

The Crossroads, pictured here, is the main 'hub' world of Crafti.ca.

Crafti.ca makes heavy use of Multiverse to support community super-build projects that exist in separate, dedicated realms designed to fully accompany the structures within. Players are encouraged to take a theme or project to heart and not only produce exemplary builds but to craft the entire world around them in pursuit of this vision. The idea is simple - you're not crafting an individual build, but part of a whole world that is designed to tell a story. For example, underwater city building would take place in a world with a map with specially designed terrain intended to accommodate a 200-ish deep ocean with kelp, coral, and other oceanic features, and players would be encouraged to produce buildings that fit within the theme and setting of the world. Other world projects may be attempts at recreating famous locations from games, movies, or even the real world.

We have a site - CRAFTI.CA - which should provide you with a fair amount of information regarding the server. Perhaps the most important section is the JOIN page, which includes basic information for how to get started on the server. There is no whitelist for the server - players are encouraged to join and explore the server - but there are certain requirements that must be fulfilled in order to receive build permissions. Again, the JOIN page outlines this process.

For those looking to get a quick start, the IP is: mc.crafti.ca. Please, please, please read the join page for basic information so that we don't have to make fun of you when you ask questions that are answered there.

There simple truth is that there's no lack of Creative servers in the realm of Minecraft, but I'm hoping Crafti.ca will stand out from the pack with the strength of its community, the talent of its builders, and the fun approach to world-building that we've tried to adopt. In short, I've tried to make Crafti.ca representative of the sort of creative server I'd want to play on, and I hope you guys'll join me and give it a shot.

posted a message on Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders [compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2 via OptiFine]
I've gotten this working without, well, any real problems... but now I want to tweak it, and I'm not sure how.

It looks really lovely - I particularly like lighting effects at night - but my problem is that during daytime things seem overly washed out, and there's a pink hue over everything that is a little exhausting.

Any ideas about what I can tweak to tone the effect down a bit?

Edit: A comparison between default, v08, and the most recent Sonic's confirms that there is a definite tint, and despite digging around in the files I don't know where it's coming from.

I would stick with the v08 one without hesitation, but I've seen just how nice the water, godlights and reflections look in the newer versions, and I don't want to go back!

posted a message on MCEdit: Minecraft World Editor (Now open source!)
Having a little problem. I took a couple big schematics of a map that I'm trying to import back onto another map, but every time I pick 'em I get messages like the following:

"I don't know how to import this file:
    SKYLANDS.schematic.zip.

Error: AttributeError("class StringIO has no attribute 'StringIO'",)
    OK
    "

They're big selections, which is why I guess it saved them in .zip format, but I don't know what to do to get MCEdit to load 'em back up again. Any ideas?

Code, would it be possible to add a 'masking' feature in on the brushes, similar to how WorldEdit functions in the game? Some way of designating which blocks to replace, or which blocks to exclude from replacement. For example, I'm facing a situation where I want to use a brush to replace air, grass, and dirt blocks with stone where I'm brushing new terrain in overtop of old, but to leave the rest of the terrain unharmed.

Actually, the same could be asked of schematic imports, too. Having some way of telling the program "import this mountain here, but don't replace blocks of A, B, or C types" would be a huge, huge help. Just by way of example, I have a large cave I'm working in and a schematic of a stalactite I want to put in the ceiling, but pasting it in there will end up inadvertently destroying a lot of ore and other materials that I want to leave behind.

posted a message on [1.7.3] Aether Collaboration Mod - V1.02 - NEW MOBS, FIXES, ITEMS AND FEATURES!
    Quote from jamsessionein

I've beaten the golden dungeon bosses twice now - once on Peaceful, and again on Hard. I've got two golden keys, and absolutely nothing to use them on. It seems when I beat 'em, some weird cave opens up on one side of the gold chamber, but it's about 3 deep and completely empty. There's no chests to be found.

A followup on this, because I think I've figured out what's happening and it seems to be a bug:

When I enter into a golden dungeon and engage the boss, the door doesn't seem to be closing behind me properly. When I beat him, the doors on the left and right walls from the entrance to the dungeon dissapear, revealing rock or cave behind them. The problem I'm seeing is that it's orienting the walls it's trying to build and remove wrong - instead of the entrance, and the wall opposite it that conceals the chest, it's doing the two side walls instead, which means that the dungeons aren't closing up once you engage the boss and when you beat him the rewards are not revealed.

I don't understand. I killed the gold boss, got the key... and there's no chest to use it on?
