    Guys I don't know if this project is still on but I would love to help because I was thinking about starting my own wild west mod the only problems I have with this is that it isnt very accurate or thought out. I think you should use actual gun models not just repeater and crossbow, and the guns ammunition. I agree that you should add horses and I also think you should add steamboats and trains because they were also major modes of transportation. Another thing is with the Testifacites being updated you should be able to transform these harmless villagers into aggresive bandits and wealthy merchants easily. You should also think about adding more animals that could be hunted. Another thing I would like to point out is that the "Wild West" didn't just take place in the west. The southern states were in the same situation as the western territories after the civil war and need to have recognition as well. You should add more adverse biomes like the backhills of west virginia to your world generation plot.
    I have many more ideas that can help your project and I also have the ability to make the ideas come to life.

    I am a moderately good coder and modeler.

    Not at all. I was just putting it in a perspective where someone who would think it was age of empires would understand. You are thinking of third person. This will be first person and you most likely wouldnt be in charge anyway.

    This idea was originally meant to be for a large scale server so I have divided it into two sections one describing the server and one describing the main mod.


    Server

    Lets start out with the server map. The server will be a close to accurate Earth where one block = one meter. I hope to achieve this not through hard work but through modern technology :wink.gif:
    The circular planet feel could be accomplished by
    A (the hard way) forming a circular minecraft but having the gravity be in a static center.

    B
    Make a flat representation of Earth but have teleportation walls at the edges that would take you to the direct opposite side.

    The Climate will be adjusted using the biome system.

    Next lets talk about the nationalities system. The mod will give you the ability to choose between key countries and continents. Each nation would have its advantages and disadvantages as well as it's own skins. These nations would advance through a set of time periods by acquiring resources, knowledge, xp, land, and population. Each Time period will have resources limited to what is acquirable at this time period in history. I plan to do this by tweaking generation for ores and making it so each time period can only dig so far underground, people that wonder to deeply into caves will get a warning message and if they keep on going, will eventually suffocate. Knowledge will be obtained by Special blocks and entities such as labs, bookshelves, and cauldrons. Experience will be gained by killing, crafting, and building. Nothing will give insane amounts of xp but killing and crafting will give moderate xp but building will give little. Land and population is where an interesting feature comes in, NPCs. When you start out most of the land will be owned by other tribes and kingdoms some NPC and some other players. Land will be measured and claimed in chunks. To gain lands you will have to take them or buy them. You must have some form of presence on the chunk if you wish to keep it. You can do this through a diplomatic gui that will let you declare war, forge alliances, trade, and buy new lands. Population is both NPCs and the players I Will get more in depth when I talk about the player experience. Both examples of time periods and nations will be listed below. Each Nation will have a leader, government, religion, and treasury. The treasury is what keeps the nations currency valuable. One cool feature is that the players will be the ones to set up the government. The leader/leaders of each government will decide on one of the 4 major religions which all have advantages or atheism which doesnt help at all. The leaders will also have the ability to take taxes from NPCs and players.

    Time Periods And Nations
    I will take suggestions and modifications

    Ancient: In this era you will only have access to stone, copper, and bronze weapons and tools. You will have Bows, swords, shields, daggers, spears, and javelins. The only transportation is walking and for certain nations horses. The only form of naval transport is rafts and canoes.

    Medevil- During this time you will have access to iron. The only new weapons will be crossbows lances and a slew of new sword types. Horses are more widely available and can now work on farms and pull carts and carriages. Large ships such as galleons and frigates will be available.

    Industrial Revolution- No new metals but steam power is now available. Gunpowdered weapons are now introduced as well as trains and redstone. Iron clad ships are now available.(Gunpowder will now be mineable only)

    20th century- Steel and plastic are introduced. Improved gunpowder. Cars, tanks, planes, and battleships are introduced.

    21st century- modern electronics that allow people to communicate entertainment nuclear power. Faster everything. More automation and AI.

    Nations
    Each nation will have its real life cultural influence.


    N america- Start out ancient and without horses and stay ancient till the a nation hits industrial revolution. Has powerful military and high agriculture.

    S america- Start out like N america but with more riches, it will be last country to hit 21st century.

    Africa- No special abilties but will suffer massively population wise during industrial revolution.

    South east asia- Will start out in medevil century.

    Middle East- will be constantly attacked by NPC nations

    Russia- Suffers from lack of food because of cold.

    West England- Vulnerable to disease but advances through medevil like no ones business.

    East England- Vulnerable to disease but quickly advances through 20th century.



    Player experience.
    The first question that comes to mind is what will happen when I die? When you die without a mate you will take place of one of your unlimited brothers or sisters. If you are married without kids you will take the place of your spouse, this does require a choosing of gender at the beginning of the game. If you have children you will take the oldest one's place. You will be able to choose an occupation or make up your own like opening your own business. If your country goes to war you have a chance that you might have to go with them. Players have to provide for themselves and have to listen to their country. Thievery and destruction are crimes and you will be sent to an unbreakable jail that you can only get out of by paying time or having the person you offended get you out. If you get three jail sentences you will be banned from the server. There should be constant wars going on to keep you interested.



    NPCs

    NPCs will do basic tasks live in basic home and pay basic taxes. You can marry an Npc or a player. NPCs will also reproduce amongst themselves. NPCs will have to be hired to fight and will stay in a formation and follow you. You can control their formations by a war gui and will have to equip each one individualy.

    You would have to have a best server and massive bandwith along with a better multiplayer code for this to run but it would be amazing. To do this I will need all the help I can get from programmers near and far but I think it will work.

    Ok guys so I just recently finished reading the book Battle Royale , a book much like lord of the flies but much better in my opinion, I thought it would be cool to remake the map from the book and let people host it on their servers and own their own version of the program. Anyone that is interested can pm me. It will be quiet easy to do because of the map in the back of the book The only thing is that I would have to have a server to put it on.

    Make sure you have the current version and modloader installed. You sometimes have to be patient. But I also find this kind of wierd because I decreased the dogs rarity by quite a bit
