did you install optifine directly into the game or through forge?
I no longer have a problem. I tried installing it through forge and it worked. I came back to the Optifine version that gave me this crash and it now works too, I have no idea why but it works now.
I recently installed the newest version of Optifine for 1.12, and the game crashes upon startup. Here is the crash report. Also, I do not have a resource pack enabled.

Well they differently are in your jar and it's missing items and blocks. mabye you removed Rio V II mod that was merged with RioV? There is a dimension in the previous version literally called "RioV" so I assume you must be mistaking? I only tested this with your 2.5.1 mists of RioV jar.
These pics below prove rio V II is missing even though the merge of Rio V II and V merge came a long time ago...
The mists of rioV is back to but it's missing RioV II merged in there. He might fix it? He kept saying I shouldn't tell him I need to do anything when I never said he needed to do anything just mentioned missing RioV II and that he should probably fix it. Anyways he is porting 1.11.2 version
So it would be best for someone to install 1 and 2 at this point?
Even if it never reached the truly massive content goals, there is still just so much interesting stuff in AoA. There are too few major modpacks that include it, so I decided to address that to let people play around with this mod while still having the full suite of FTB craziness everyone knows and loves. I was aiming for capturing the combat challenge of Mad Pack/Blood n Bones with the difficult, integrated recipes of Infinity Evolved/InfiTech 2. This is what I came up with, over 300 mods worth of hardcore modded Minecraft goodness (Warning: do not attempt a hardcore world, will not last long)\
Nice pack! I'm glad someone is still playing this mod. It is the biggest mod ever and adds so much new content, it would be such a shame if it was abandoned. I know that the mod hasn't been updated in awhile but Xolova did confirm he has not given up. Also you should try playing this mod with DivineRPG, another mod created by Xolova.
Because DivineRPG is mostly dead aswell. Also I don't think Xolova will update AoA to 1.8. 1.7.10 is where most mods are at right now, I think it would gain more popularity if it could be played with DivineRPG and AoA.
Hello! Recently a mod called "Journey Into the Light" was discontinued. Journey Into the Light was created by an ex-developer for DivineRPG, so you can imagine how similar it is to DivineRPG. Currently this mod is only for 1.8.9, which means that you can't play it with Advent of Ascension and DivineRPG. I would like to ask that someone take a look at this thread and backport the mod to 1.7.10. This is this mod's last chance, if it doesn't get backported it will be forgotten and die, especially since development has stopped. This is a huge expansion mod, just like DivineRPG and AoA were. This mod would be perfect with those 2 mods and it would be sad if they could never be played together. Here is the source code to the mod: https://github.com/Dizzlepop12/Journey

Thanks for the "help"

Well, my computer doesn't have any speakers yet and my headphones don't work properly, so I just don't play with sound.

If so many people think the boss music is really good, I'll have to listen to it sometime. I don't play with sound.
(EDIT) So far, my favorite has to be either Shadowlord's theme or King Shroomus' theme.

Why is there so much interest regarding boss themes?

Where do you get the 2.5.1 jar?

Would you ever release this fixed version of the snapshot? (I know you would need Xolova's permission)

You can if you get the 2.5 snapshot along with CustomNPCs (the brown feather lets you explore the unreleased dimensions)

Well DivineRPG and AoA aren't updating any time soon and all I want is to be able to play this mod with those 2 mods.

Also, the mod author has given permission to update or backport the mod on the mod's official thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/2518954-journey-into-the-light-v-1-1-1_1-dimensions-mobs?page=37
Also, I recommend that you backport the 1.2 snapshot instead of 1.1.1_1. Thank you in advance!

Does anyone here know how to code?
