posted a message on I'd Like the Community's Opinion
Now, before I start ranting about the state of affairs, I'd like to say that I do actually enjoy playing Minecraft. No matter what I start spewing here, remember that I still like Minecraft.

I've been playing Minecraft for a long time now. Just over two years, in fact... Just before the nether was implemented. I haven't been there for all of the updates, but I've been there for a significant amount of them. I've always found that Minecraft was enjoyable. I've agreed with, or at least accepted, almost every update that was released (the main exception being the loss of C-boosters). I've never found any update to be game-breaking. If I don't like a feature, I can usually just ignore it. The updates are not what this rant is focused on, but rather a side effect of updates.

Throughout alpha and beta (with the exception of VERY early multiplayer), Minecraft has always been playable and enjoyable. The bug count was high, but we were dealing with a game in its infancy. It could only be expected that there would be a fairly high bug count. That said, Notch clearly tried (and succeeded) to keep the bugs under control. Naturally, after a year or so of developing, bugs began to pile up. That's understandable for an incomplete game. We had pre-purchased a game, and had the ability to test it as it went through its development process. For a game in development, it was pretty great.

When Mojang decided to release Minecraft as a complete game, they were making a trade-off. They could sell the game for more, but in return it would only be fair that Minecraft would play like a finished game. Unfortunatley, Jeb and the others working on Minecraft right now don't seem to realize that calling something a finished game means they have to ensure that every official update plays like a finished game.

When I play other games such as Starcraft, LoL, Guild Wars, etc... I rarely ever find anything that would make it feel like an incomplete game. Bugs are few and far between, except for a few at launch, possibly. The people who work on these games realize that when a game is finished, it should feel finished. There is no "We'll fix that sometime soon, hopefully", or anything like that. If there's a bug, they fix it as soon as possible. End of story.

The problem with Minecraft is that although it's out of beta, it still feels like a beta game. 1.4.4 is going to solve around 20 bugs, including one that's been in for a year now (the chests staying open bug). 20 bugs. Worse, after going onto the bug reporting website, I see there are 1000 unresolved bugs. Sure some of them are bound to be duplicates, but we can safely say there are at least over 100 unique bugs. That's just too many for a finished game.

In my opinion, It's only fair that if Mojang will charge people for a full game, they should really put in the required effort to ensure that what they're selling truly is a full game. I'm not saying that they're evil, lazy, or trying to rip people off. I'm just saying that their efforts would probably be better allocated to preserving a bug-free, complete game, rather than churning out new features. I'm not saying that updates are bad, but I'd really appreciate it if they spent more time and effort on keeping the game stable. Simply fixing bugs can improve an already finished game significantly more than, say, a few new mobs and some new blocks.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I needed to rant. So, Minecraft community, what do you think about all this? I'd like to hear your opinion on the state of affairs in Minecraft's ongoing development.

TL;DR: Too many bugs, spend more time on keeping the game stable, seeing as it's supposedly a finished game.

Lol was the other one even scared of you?

She was kinda (very) messed up in the head, so sometimes she was and sometimes she wasn't. Mostly, as long as you didn't make any sudden movements and loud noises, she would be fine.

Guys I have a math question. Which involves Minecraft.

    Snip

So you're not looking for the chance that you will have enchantment X, or the total would remain out of 20 (which you said it shouldn't be). You're also not looking for the chance that you will have a specific set of enchantments, as clearly stated. The only thing I can see that's left is the percentage of enchantments that are efficiency and the percentage of enchantments that are unbreaking out of all enchantments.

In that case, your second attempt should give you the numbers you were looking for. Really, it all depends on what percentages you're trying to find.

I had two cats who were a year and a half older than I was. One was pretty much a personality copy of me (or perhaps I'm a personality copy of him, as he was born first). The other one was completely mental and was scared of everything.

I hate when people use commas where they should use periods or semicolons (semicolons are still relevant if you're cool).

I had chicken pox when I was 8 years old. The itch wasn't too bad. Apart from this nasty one in my throat, which got really sore, it was basically just a free week off of school. Overall, I was actually glad to have chicken pox at the time.

    Erotic novels.

Just kidding. I'll probably use books as to-do lists, manuals on how to operate the stuff I make, and lists of cool places and where they are.

posted a message on How to help with a sore throat?
    Quote from MrQuizzles

Just note that these remedies won't actually cure the infection that's causing the swelling. That's what the medicine is for. They'll just help soothe your throat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but saltwater does a pretty good job of dehydrating bacteria... Which is one of the easiest ways to kill them.
