    open your .minecraft folder (make a shortcut its helps speed this up)

    go into the BIN folder and open your minecraft .JAR file with a program like winrar

    find your META INF folder and delete it

    install forge UNIVERSAL for 1.2.5

    install TMI (too many items mod) this may help with checking if everything worked though not needed for the operation of trains mod

    close your .JAR folder

    go back to your .MINECRAFT folder and create a mods folder

    place the 1.2.5 version of trains and zepplin mod in the MODS folder you just made

    close everything and load minecraft

    if your game fails to load try and get the error message and post in in spoilers here for us to figure out whats wrong.

    i noticed that in the change log for the dev build theres mention of a new digging machine :D

    now either this is a mucker (underground mine cart loader irl)
    or its a front shovel

    if any of these are right i think i may have a heart attack :D
    though only if the ID problem is fixed

    can someone working on a vehicle pack for Flans mod please think of this next time there thinking of adding something?

    - some from of off road truck or 4X4 (best would be a Ford Bronco or modified jeep)
    - some form of bush plane for back county exploration (maybe a Dehavolin Beaver or some form of float plane)

    just a small request as a younger friend of mine would really appreciate it.

    I found this picture the other day that apparently depicts some kind of mine train.



    It appears to be short and small. The car behind it is, I assume, a mine cart. It looks to be powered by compressed gas cylinders or is some other kind of fireless locomotive (http://en.wikipedia....less_locomotive). I thought I'd post it if you want to use it as a variation on the mine train.


    yes that would work well as an underground engine
    the cart i talked about could work well with railcrafts vertical rails as a skip cart can only be used up and down shafts
    its used as a quick way to get men and ores out of shaft mines

    i only brought it up as at that point i required a cart that would only go up and down a shaft
    (i didn t have rail craft on)

    the ore cart behind the engine is a "lift dumper" cart
    the cart doesn't tip on its own, instead the cart is driven into a spinning frame and tipped upside down to unload the ores.

    funny as this form of cart is primaly used in shaft mines where carts will not directly bring there ores to the surface. the ore from these carts is sent into a shut where it loads a skip cart that goes to the surface and dumps its ore load from the shaft head.

    (sorry to get technical)

    I totally agree with your description of the steam shovel, and I agree, there should be a mucker, but what use would it be with the rail builder?


    muckers can only mine tunnels and can't place rails
    there meant to act as a loader for ore carts

    i guess there also electrically powered instead of how the tracks builders powered

    It is possible to animate boxes but due to number of boxes I see in the arm it would be a real nightmare: rotating one boxe implies that all other boxes must be move to fit the new position of the rotated box. And that's only with one box rotating
    And I see about 12 to 14 boxes in the arm
    If it's not animated, well it will look kind of static when you digg...


    could there be any way around the animation problem ?

    many of us think this shovel would be an incredible addition to your already awesome mod

    I didn't get to finish the cab. But this gives you an idea. Dunno if Spitfire can implement it. I imagine it could use similar code as the Track Builder, except you can drive around anywhere, not just on rails. This version would require coal or wood and water like the steam locomotives.

    Unfortunately the shovel wouldn't be articulated... unless I can figure it out with Spitfire. I really would like to animate certain things like pistons and drive arms on the steam locomotives.

    think of this as being about the same size as the better looking mining carts :)

    I think a mod like Millenaire should be made that accomodates train mod. Millenaire has all the bells and whistles for it, it just needs larger numbers and a couple more systems.

    I also think we need a Steam shovel:


    As well as a modern excavator (for those using diesels)


    It could use the same code as the Track Builder, but instead of laying track, it collects all aggregate and ores and then dumps them into nearby freight cars.

    That's when a specialized mod like Millenaire comes in with some sort of special unloading block, that allows you to quickly unload a freight car and sell its contents.

    I can put them together but don't think it'll be animated :(


    now this is something i could really use :D open pit mines here i come :D
