I cannot get this to work at all. I installed this exactly the way it's shown. Minecraft runs but MAtmos sounds do not work whatsoever. Default minecraft sounds also do not work the first time I launch minecraft, but if I restart it, they work again after a few seconds. MAtmos never works for me. I have installed modloader. No other mods. Mac OSx Lion, 10.7.2.
I never use the first diamond I find in a world, and will go to great lengths to keep it separate from other diamonds, even abandoning the rest of the vein if I can't separate them.
My houses are almost always a hill or a mountain that I gradually dig out. They look terrible on the outside, and are generally so on the inside as well, but some rooms feel very nice by the time I finish them.
Notes for the ignorant people in this topic who failed to do their research:
- Ghasts NEVER spawn in the normal world. It is impossible to get one in the overworld without hacking
- Zombie pigmen are the only nether mob capable of being in the overworld naturally, as they result when lightning strikes a pig (which is rare). They still do not spawn on their own, think of them like obsidian.
No, ghasts don't spawn near portals, that feature was never implemented and when you look at the code, it is clearly impossible for ANY nether mob to spawn in the overworld.

You have to admit, lapis is better than diamond. Diamond is only used for getting to the Nether, but with lapis, you can build and have blue sheep.
Diamond is needed for enchantment tables and record player things. You don't need it to get to the Nether though. Come to think of it, for such a prized material, it's not spectacularly useful. Just lasts for quite a while.
Edit: Didn't see second page and can't figure out how to delete this post. Well, sorry for information that's already been posted.
I host a V. 1.0.0 server. For a radius of about 20 blocks, when it rains, there is no sound. There is also no splash particle effect on the surface of blocks. Thunder works fine. The surrounding area works correctly.
Things it is not:
Fast graphics - I am on fancy graphics
Missing rain sound file - Works properly in other areas
Client side - Others are experiencing this problem
OSx problem - All other players in my server use Windows and it effects them as well.
I think that my biggest problem with the new terrain generator is the lack of beaches. And the fact that you no longer spawn on sand exclusively.
Although I do very strongly miss mono-biome worlds. Either constant clearness or constant snow. The constant clearness produced an interesting tropical island type atmosphere. The snowy worlds created an atmosphere where caves were much more inviting and being inside a structure felt very cozy.
It's hard to tell, but the water splash particles appear on the side that I'm standing on, but not further back. If you walk to where there are particles, the rain makes sound. If you walk to where there isn't, it stops.
I am running a 1.0.0 server. When it rains, the rain has no splash particles and makes no sound. Strangely, when I go somewhere else, the rain does splash and there is sound. Thunder sounds work fine.
The problem is not that I am on a Mac because other (Windows) players are having this problem as well. Also, my particle setting is at "All."
No. Im 100% sure Shadow is male. Also, he has been alone for years. He is 3x normal size for a Pleco and his companion (Who was also male) died 2 years ago. :sad.gif:
He has been eating the same food his whole life, parasitic infection isnt possible. Theres no way for it to get in.
I'm not an expert, but I'm fairly sure it's possible that the food could have been contaminated. If any new fish or plants have been introduced to the tank, that also makes it possible for pathogens to enter.
According to what I've found, constipation in fish is most commonly caused by improper diet. If he's been eating this food his whole life without problem, he may not be constipated.
Edit:
"... fish dies, oh well it is just a fish. "
I was going to post a video of GLaDOS saying "You monster," but couldn't find a video of just that. So yeah. You monster.

That's the version I started with, too.
Let's see..

Always patch creeper holes.

Actually, people are confused because of this:

But Jeb later said the feature was never implemented:

Next time, please follow your own advice.

Yes. The rain still falls, there's just no splash particles and no sound.
