    I was planning to build things, etc... but I just can't in thoses conditions, I can't even go out more than 10 seconds without meeting an annoying mob (because most mobs in this mods are a lot more powerfull than vanilla ones...) I'm not saying I hate mobs or I don't know, I just need to have "my space" of terrain to make whatever I want on these, it's a whole dimension of Minecraft's gameplay that disepear if you can't do it anymore, don't you agree ?


    Honestly your best bet is to build a small house slightly under the bottom of a water body, that's what I did and it seems to be working out just fine for me. Tell me the results you get.

    Mobs are set to be able to spawn at level 11 or > (according to what I saw). I think this is just hell. I spent hours trying to light up my world and I still gets attacked after I walk a few metters from my home (or even IN my home...).

    I know you can say "just put more torches" but let be honest, having a light level at 12 is nearly impossible considering you need to have a torch every 3 blocks in any direction (+ it's just annoying) it's even more impossible considering that I live in a Montain Biome that multiply the spawnable surface.


    You can also place slab but i won't cover my world of slabs.

    So basically there's no (realistic) way to make your neighbourhood safe. I understand it's supposed to make it feels RPG-ish but in RPG you don't have to craft a diamond armour every 2 days because you're surrounded with mobs that attacks you in constant flow.

    + A lot of things lose their interest if you can't make them safe, for exemple you get pushed out of your minecart one time over 3 by charger or Skoll etc...


    I'm not saying "it's stupid you should lower the spawn rate"

    I actually like having a more dangerous world, but... sometime I just want to put off my armour and harvest some fruits in my garden ...without being banged by 9 chargers, and 3 Skoll who teleported from 3 asses away.


    - So to begin with, is there any way to stop the spawn arround my world that i could have missed ?

    - Could it be possible to have a way to manually set the spawn condition (ex: a config file?)

    - from a game designer point of view I may have 3 suggestions (that you could simply ignore if you want to) :

    - May be the spawn rate could be a little lower only in the overworld

    - An object (like a beacon) could be used to prevent mobs from getting closer based on a radius

    - And my favorite : Mobs could have graduate spawn-rate and level based on the distance with the spawn point. The more you travel in your world the stronger enemies get... It would help to not have constantly 3 dark beasts in your way when you're just trying to get into your farm or something.


    Anyway as you must have understood the main quesiton remains "is there any other way than 68476847 torches or slabs to prevent spawning ?"

    Honestly install NEI, with NEI installed you can press F7, or the function key + F7 depending on your computer, it will show X marks on the blocks that mobs can spawn on, so you can know where to put a torch, torches do cover a large enough area so you don't need to "torch every 3 blocks", and let's be honest, torches are not hard to get at all

    I love the better furnaces mod, I always use it because I hate how painfully slow vanilla furnaces are.

    I haven't fought a boss since V1, before advent of ascention. When can we expect Nevermine for MC 1.8? I want to make a private mod pack with a private lucky block addon using this mod. Obviously if I could get permissions from all mod makers it will be public, but IDK the chances of that.

    I have one small problem and that is the fact that it's very easy to spawn a many of the bosses inside a wall, even with the ones spawned using altars, and once they are spawned in the wall they can be easily killed without any challenge whatsoever. Maybe make it so that in some way they clear some of the terrain when they are spawned so there's some challenge in fighting the bosses no matter what.

    Okay thanks for the info, it helps a lot. Just one more question, do I need the full set or could I use 2 or 3 pieces and put last stand on one of them and have some levels on me? Would I be able to survive that way?

    Do I need the draconic set to survive a chaos guardian fight? I mean other than the open blocks last stand enchant with more than 100 levels on me. Because getting either of the two is really time consuming, of course I will put in the work if it's the only way I was just wondering.

    So I like to play with multiple mods at once, my favorites being this and metallurgy, and I want to add certain ingots into the chest and well drops, as well as changing the falling blocks to metallurgy blocks.

    So I use Minetweaker to tweak recipes to make the game harder, I also want to be able to use it to change lucky block drops.

    I use 1.7.0

    When I use /mt hand with the metallurgy tartarite ingot it shows

    In my sky factory 2 (mod pack on ATLauncher) world I have a giant tree that I grew creating an insane amount of lag and I know I can use MCEdit to get rid of it yet I am having problems getting MCEdit to open the world, anyone help please.
