posted a message on I went around and researched everything without a pen and paper on me... any way to get research notes now?
    -For the latest version

I didn't understand what he wrote so i replied to what i thought he meant, if it's just the research notes then you need scribing tools, and paper. When you have those, you click on the thing you want to research in the thaumonomicon.

    -For previous versions

I believe you click on the aspects until you get a note, not completely positive because i haven't used the old thaumcraft in awhile

    Nope, too little.

    Exactly what i was thinking.

Funny thing is, I made everything from KAMI with no flux at all.

My first time playing with Thaumcraft and I didn't have any paper on me when I researched everything. What can I do now?

Research notes meaning the shards of the discoveries? Villagers trade for them, pechs drop them. i have no idea of any other way

Pretty cool idea, I'll try out your map.
Wouldn't have thought of using slime blocks.

    -edit-
You might want to configure it so the players aren't in creative mode and spawn in the place you wanted them to spawn.

    Quote from Keybounce

Please, tell me that /clone can work across dimensions ...

    As in:
/clone my base to the nether.
Start over, generate a brand-new overworld in 1.8.
    Keep the old nether
/clone my base out of the "copy of the old nether" into the overworld
Delete the old nether, and get a brand new one.

PLEASE tell me this will work :-)

(I'll use the end if I can't use the nether.)

There's no "dimension" argument so you cannot do this in the current snapshot.
However, you can put it in suggestions to add a dimension variable to the "/clone" command.

    posted a message on Dinnerbone's adding a long-requested feature!
    Quote from NexTheRenzor

Now people we have many possibilities. Dynamic Lighting. We have tons of thing that could happen.

Dinnerbone on Reddit stated at some point he would add new mobs, caves, and ores possibly. I forgot when he posted it though.

    Fixed it for you.

You guys have your hopes too high, no mobs or dimensions will be added, they arent code breaking because i can make one myself without causing problems.

I'm guessing from your guy's guesses, Cubic chunks, Dynamic Lighting, ability to change your name, something to do with world generation, and or modding API.

Anyway I'm thinking it's dynamic lighting because of an earlier tweet by one of the crew saying something about a new light source of a sort.

posted a message on My thoughts and concerns on recent updates... NOT happy, Mojang!

I am absolutely disgusted with Mojang's obsession with adding mod features to Minecraft. That's what mods are for, because Minecraft DOESN'T have those features. How is Minecraft "vanilla" when it's full of these mod features??!!

That's why I play vanilla minecraft, because I DO NOT want to play with mod features! Stop implementing mods to your so called vanilla Minecraft! What, then, makes it vanilla?

Don't even get me started on enchanting! Why did we need to change it??!! Nobody except shallow minded noobs complained about enchanting. Why do we need to change it??!! Again!

There was nothing wrong with it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

I don't play vanilla minecraft for Acacia and Dark Oak woods. I play it for the abscence of one-block "treecapitation". I play it because I don't want deer and birds and pegasi in it. If I want that, I'll download the mod. I don't want permanent mod features. That. Is. Why. I. Played. Vanilla. Don't ruin it!!!

Do you know what vanilla means? It means unmodded, meaning anything that mojang puts in there is vanilla.
If you don't like the updates get off of minecraft and play a different game.

Kids these days, get some update for free and complain about it.

posted a message on Snapshot 14w02a Ready For Testing! YAY!
    Quote from Plexime

This new update is fine, it's obvious that the modding API is not their main priority. I'm glad that Mojang is releasing 100% free updates that most other companies would call "DLC". That's part of the beauty for Minecraft.

Of course it's not their main priority, the modding community is small compared to the vanilla counterpart, and plus nobody buys a game for its mods. I'm pretty sure that that mod API is useless for all of the non computer versions too (yes i know it doesn't update all versions of minecraft on all systems at the same time)

Exception: Some people buy half life 2 for garrys mod.

posted a message on Any Ideas for a minecraft experiment?
    Quote from 630tiger

Set up two chicken farms. For one, you have a wheat farm to get seeds from, or you just cheat seeds in. For the other, have all of the chickens standing on a hopper that sends eggs (through a redstone system) to a dispenser that shoots babies out to grow on top of the hopper. Breed the chickens in the first pen by hand. See at what point the redstone system overtakes hand breeding methods.

The point where it starts. Crops take forever to grow, yet when you have enough chickens they lay an egg every 1-10 seconds.
(I'm talking about in the 400's)

posted a message on New Ores and Caves 1.8 and BEYOND!
    Quote from Rasah

I know many players enjoy the swisscheese caves but I hope they make the cave system more structured and adventurous instead of random slop (same goes for the Nether, it's just a jumbled mess).

Can't wait to hear more. I just hope the 1.8 update doesn't delay Optifine as much as 1.7...

the only reason optifine was delayed was because a big change to coding inwhich MCP uses. Optifine uses MCP to run so if MCP isnt updated Optifine isn't updated

the whole thing comes down as to what they think came first initially the game or the mod. Bugs the pit out of me when they start to sob "stealing from mods" when the game belongs to mojang and mojang allows modders to modify.

Also from the Mojang website, from the terms and conditions, under forum and communications,
If you post any content on our Website, you must (and by doing so you actually do) give us permission to use, copy, modify and adapt that content as part of our business. This permission must be irrevocable. You must also let us permit other people to use, copy, modify and adapt your content. If you don‘t want to give us this permission, then please do not post any content on our Website. Please think carefully before you post any content, because it will be made public and might even be used by other people in a way you don‘t like.

Basically, all people saying they stole from mod, Well, they legally have the right to "steal" from mods.

It's new what do you expect from people?
For people to be happy about free updates?
    Nah that's unlike everybody.
