I built an elevator today. I finally got it working. It goes up, it goes down, check it out.
I busted a nut trying to get this thing working, special thanks to Apocolips18 and Garluneg for working with me making this.
I know there's a lot of up-and-coming servers out there, all of them have maybe a few players on them at a time. I have a server that has been running for about 8 months now and recently lost a bunch of players (We went from 50 active accounts to 14.)
If you have a server that has a relatively small population or you don't quite have the resources to keep your server going, this is an open-ended invitation for a merger.
What I offer:
- All of your users that transferred would receive 1 month's free VIP status. This includes kits, access to special events, and soon access to a new VIP town.
- The server administrator and maybe a couple moderators (depending on the size of the group joining) would become moderators on my server. Depending on activity and matching criteria, moderators may become administrators as needed.
- All new players will be given a start-up kit to get going. This would include 20 iron bars, 2 stacks of cobble, 1 stack of logs, and 1 stack of redstone dust.
- If you are somewhat interested in this offer, but there is something on your old server that you would really like to have, please let me know.

I've recently had a box free up and am offering it up for hosting. 1gb ram on a 20mbps line. This would be a completely dedicated box to your server. You're welcome to run minecraft with whatever plugin/wrapper you wanted, a ventrilo 8-slot, if you were so interested, or whatever. DDNS included.

Hmm, that doesn't happen with Craftbukkit.. there are people who are still running Minecraft 1.5 with the version of Craftbukkit that worked for it and plugins that worked for it.. because not all plugins have been updated for 1.6 yet. Not sure which plugins you were using that stopped themselves until you updated.. but if Minecraft updates, most everything does indeed stop working... but there's really no way around that.
I've never seen a plugin disable itself if its outdated...
I believe it was a groups mod of some kind that disabled itself when the mod updated. Nomenclature's a booger. The wrapper was fine, the server was fine, but a fair number of the plugins for the wrapper would disable themselves when a new version was available. I did what I could to keep the server current, but it seemed that something or another was out of date and threw my whole server off-balance. Canary looks like it's more along the lines of what I'm looking for. I'm going to try that out and see how it works for me.
Thanks for the suggestion. Like I said, this wouldn't be my first server, but would be probably my third or fourth, realistically. I want to remake the one I had up, but bukkit is entirely too finicky for my liking. The plugins and wrappers were updated so frequently it was impossible to keep up with it all even with only ~10 plugins running total, and I couldn't let the obsolete ones run because all the plugin managers figured out how to make the plugin disable itself until you had the most recent version. Very frustrating stuff.
I'm looking for a good server wrapper to use for my minecraft server. I was using bukkit for a while, but their updating system is frustrating to keep up with, and just isn't quite suiting my fancy. I'm looking for a server wrapper that'll let me do the following:
Admin add/delete blocks in map.
Moderator kick/ban people.
Protected chests, but admin can access any chest.
Enable/prevent health regen seperately from enabling monsters, or control over what monsters spawn and where.
Setting up teleports/warps (Ideally a location-based system like a warp gate)
Private messaging/local chats/world chats
Group-based privileges.
That's all I can really think of that I need. I tried using bukkit for a while, but the system was too unstable and the stuff I was using to control the server always seemed to be updating separately from anything else, and it was difficult at the very least to keep up with the updates. If anyone has any recommendations, thank you.
That -snip- was on my server too he wrecked pretty much everything :sad.gif: but if you go throught your server logs you could find out exactly who did it
I have gone through my server logs. These were the only names that were on during the time it happened.
Thanks for so many responses, he didn't seem to be able to wreck much more than a window and a couple people's chests, the rest of the server appears pretty much intact. Yaaaaay backupplugin.
