It does this when I try to go into the portal as a non-host on an SMP LAN game with my brother.

Bonemeal still works when a mushroom is on mycelium. Even in daylight. Just tried this.
Luckily I brought mycelium blocks the other day as a trophy.
But not regular dirt/grass ?
Mar 23, 2012Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from iStephen24x7
Didn't notice that..
Just make a dark room, make the mushroom grow, and take away the the blocks keeping the room dark.
Halfway through typing this I realize they don't survive in the light, taking away the dark room will kill the mushroom.
I did make a dark room, and I still couldn't get the thing to grow into a giant red mushroom.

- Fixed an off-by-one lighting bug
- Fixed block transmuting (turning one block into another via pistons)
- Fixed placing mushrooms in daylight, where they can’t survive
- Fixed redstone lamps dropping powered block items when destroyed while on
- “save-all” (server) now works even when you have toggled “save-off”
Mar 23, 2012Since they won't let you place them in sunlight, or any light anymore. *tried after sunfall and no go*Posted in: Survival Mode
I tried building a big boxed in area and still no avail. Do mushrooms just not work anymore with bonemeal? And how do you feel about not being able to place them above ground anymore since 1.2.4?

No, nobody cares about the GC anymore. It's a long since forgotten platform. The only Nintendo console to receive some sort of homebrew version of Minecraft is the DS.
If you really want to play Minecraft on something different and/or portable, go out and buy an Android device running Android 2.3+
Or just patiently wait for the XBLA version.

If you've even been on the fence about it.. it's on sale today, I don't know where all or for how long but it's only $.10 so go buy it :smile.gif:
Nov 18, 2011Shocking.. Half the specs and half the resolution to deal with.Posted in: MCPE: Discussion
It's obviously due to the extremely low 320x480 screen size the game is dealing with. If your iPod had that hardware with a screen the size of the X, you'd be looking at a lot less.
The game runs buttery smooth on my Droid Incredible without overclock. I can't imagine it running much better.

Now it's rare that I ever do moan about mincraft because everything in minecraft that notch has added is awsome including the hunger bar bar but you can blame this guy for moaning because even I'm agreeing with how easy it is to get food from breeding.
My soloution would simply be have craftable troffs that go in your pens and you fill them up with wheat. As the animals eat the wheat they will breed but only slowly to balance out the game an even when thy breed you have to wait a few minecraft days for the baby to grow. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.
Or... how about we just leave it kinda the way it is. Breeding still still require interaction that you'll have to go and do. Food was always easy to get and obtain, it's just different and much more needed now. I don't see why anyone is complaining. Then again, this is the minecraftforum so that's half of what's on here. Bad mods, whiners, 12 year-old kids who want to be server admins so they can act even more like children, and people pulling rank because they've been playing longer than someone else. This place is full of complaining idiots and it's always nice to see a gem that shines through with honest creativity and skill in the game. Anyone can pick up and play, that's part of the beauty of this game. This is Notch's game, and he will do with it as he pleases throughout development. I see the game slowly getting a lot more complex and difficult. We really need to stop complaining about these pre-releases *which someone at one point in time here on the forums, someone told me nothing like this would ever exist*. Mojang doesn't have to give these to us, in fact they could keep us completely in the dark about what is going on. They don't though. Enjoy the game, in any form whether you're stuck on 1.7.3 for servers, playing SSP, testing beta pre-releases. Just play though it and take everything with a grain of salt. Balance is the ultimate end result they're going for here and since it isn't finished yet almost EVERYONE on this forum needs to take a chill pill and stop creating threads about how this needs fix or this isn't right for the way they play the game because it's too easy/hard.

I dont see the point of playing Minecraft on my phone... :dry.gif:
Then don't buy it :smile.gif: Have a nice day!

In my opinion the smartphone market is pretty much just Android and iOS head to head. So, the OP is technically correct because outside those two and maybe that ugly PSX phone, the program won't have many mobile options left lol.
That being said, this is why Java is awesome, you can port it to nearly anything with minimal effort compared to other avenues.
That ugly PSX phone is running Android, Android 2.3 to be exact :wink.gif: and it's called the Xperia Play. iOS only has one phone, Android has tons of capable devices, so it will be going to many phones. If you have a smartphone, you generally have one of 4 things, slowly becoming three, then down to the main two, Android and iOS.

all Notch wants is money, he doesnt care about it all he cares about is his "new games" thats why he took almost everyone off the minecraft team. He got his money and now hes just watches movies and spinning in his chair.
Quit being a lying complainer.. this isn't even Notch's project. You'd probably know that if you actually paid attention to what Notch/Jeb/etc have to say on Twitter, but you don't. You blindly complain on the forums and try to make Notch out to be some rich, greedy, mastermind. Pathetic.

They were going to used a beefier Hummingbird processor (which is what is in Galaxy S/Nexus S) but they changed their minds last year and switched to their own homemade processor called Exynos for Galaxy S II. So they're actually quite different.
It's odd that Mojang would be having bugs with a Hummingbird powered phone compared to a Exynos phone, because Hummingbird was made by Qualcomm, and a very large number of phones use Qualcomm CPUs. It should have been easier to program for the GS than the GSII.
Incorrect, The Hummingbird SoC, it isn't a processor actually, is made in house by Samsung.
Quote from Nahte27
Actually, the Galaxy S phones are quite good, except for the slooooow updates...
That's why I have a Nexus S :laugh.gif:
Then you don't actually have a Galaxy S device, so you don't know what you're talking about :smile.gif:
The Nexus S only shares the Hummingbird SoC, the rest of the phone is pure Google, hardware was changed out to make it a better phone. The aGPS for instance, since it didn't work on Galaxy S devices, My Fascinate(s) are a true blue test of this. They changed a lot of internal components to make the Nexus.
Quote from Gardner
You are WRONG... Hummingbird is made by Samsung, most people say it's Apple A4 processor ripoff, but anyway - Qualcomm made Snapdragon processor (which is now in HTC Android phones, SE Xperia phones and some LG phones). If it would be Qualcomm SGS would have Adreno GPU and it has (known from iPhone, but way better) PowerVR SGX540.
PS: Waiting for it on my Hummingbird & PowerVR powered Nexus S :smile.gif:
Correct, it is an Apple A4 ripoff, well sort of. Samsung makes the chip for Apple :wink.gif: as do they most of the internal iPhone components. So in the end, they're one in the same. PowerVR GPUs go WAY back to the original Droid/Milestone. It's not new, but they keep getting better, iPad2 uses a PowerVR, my Droid Bionic uses a PowerVR.

Bethesda will most likely win.
Usually on logo infractions an audience get shown a lot of logos and pick up those that are similar without being told which is the one on trial. Frankly with a blink of an eye there is similarity between the logos.
In case they bring it to a franchise infraction same thing applies, of first sight setting of both games is medieval-ish, might given the inattentive customer to think to find aspect of the elder scrolls series.
Bethesda cannot risk possible confusion and needs to keep their chances for a possible spin-off called scrolls made by their hands (considering they have the rights on that name they could do so).
All in all Bethesda doesn't sues for pure pleasure but merely to protect their own franchises like any healthy cooperation would do.
Bethesda will most likely NOT win.. such a vague usage of word cannot be copyrighted. Very similar to when Apple was very upset that 'App Store' could not be copyrighted, then they got upset about Getjar having an App Store as well.. funny since Getjar predates the Apple App Store.
Bethesda's lawyers have a snowball's chance in hell at winning this. They're suing over something too vague for a legitimate lawsuit.
Jul 25, 2011Why are people still going on about adventure "mode" its going to be part of the game. I imaging toggling difficulty will toggle things like hunger and permadeath. Id still like further definition from the mouth of notch as to what these things will entail before I, unlike what seems to be the majority of the Minecraft community spouts of my thoughts as definite fact based on solid truths in my mind. Notch has been pretty vague about a lot of things about this update, and you probably don't know what you're talking about. Especially with stuff like this where he's leaked something and not given any real information about exact contents, so its up for the wildest speculation and before you know it you have a bunch of whiney screamy minecrafters bitching and complaining about something that doesn't even exist yet.Posted in: News
the Adventure Update in 1.8 is going to be a mind blowing addition to Minecraft, regardless of what it contains past what we already know for sure. IF it changes the gameplay, I'll just change how I play. I've spent the last 48 hours grinding away on the Aether mod and its almost like I forget I'm playing Minecraft at times, then I fall back to earth and its a reality check. I have a feeling the new mechanics to be added in the next update will be earth-shatteringly amazing for the world of Minecraft.
