May 12, 2011None of any of my mods are abandoned. I've been very sick for a long time now and it's been very hard for me to keep up with school, let alone this. Give me time, but this will be updated eventually. My apologies again, just very very ill.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
May 4, 2011Another comment after looking deeper into your mod, other than double door enabling as well as fence connections, all of these have been made previously. I don't mean to disrespect, frankly from looking at the code i see you know what you're doing, but generally other modders have a tendency to look down on that one, to put it simply neither tehkrush or searge were all to happy with the release of my mods, though i specifically tried to add functionality or capability that they didn't have so i could justify it as a unique mod. If you wish to get ideas or talk to other modders about what can/should be done i sincerely suggest getting an irc client and going to #risucraft and #mcp-modding on the esper irc server. Tons of modders meet there to discuss/help/troll and overall if you show you're not a newb and actually intelligent (which from your code and wording you seem to be) they accept you pretty graciously.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
With that said, well done on your mod. It's very professionally done and i love the way you avoided mojangs "do not distribute out code" rule for the most part (save one class but w/e).
Good luck in your future work, and let me know if i can get access to that unobfuscated code >:biggrin.gif:
May 4, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jason Dayspring »Quote from TheQuestererJayR »Yeah, I used this mod as-well unlike the last revision this one seems to crash when i load my world. Is there anything that could cause my world to crash? Because, even the last one never crashed. Also, how many other complaints about this crashing when loading their world, are there? It's very frustrating, I even tried to edit the .props file and no luck.
When upgrading any mod, if any block id's change it will corrupt your save and thus crash.
Either double check the properties files before and after upgrading to match up the block ids, or start a new world every time you upgrade (or remove) a mod that uses block ids.
This isn't necessarily true and i believe notch or risugami changed some code to specifically stop that type of thing from happening in 1.5.01. However you can always start the game from your console and copy and paste an error code :tongue.gif:
May 4, 2011I'm not sure how you code, in obfuscated or not, but if it's with MCP, and as such unobfuscated, could you upload your source code somewhere? I'm the author of more doors, and though i've been working on a double door feature, I'd like to see how you did it.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Also thought i'd let you know, i did try decompiling the mod but the classes and such are still obfuscated >.> annoyance. Well thanks for any response, i've no need to bug you about it anymore.
May 4, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jason Dayspring »^^ The new version of Better Blocks has working double doors.
I hope that makes it easier to do yours like that. Theirs are just the ugly default ones.
I have been working on double doors as well, it's rudimentary and buggy currently, however I am decompiling his code and will be working with it.
May 3, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jason Dayspring »O_O That isn't going to delay the next release is it?
It would be supremely awesome to have working double doors, but I only have room for 8 sprites and 34 terrain so I can't use this until I can use the properties file to filter out some .png's.
^^ :Diamond:x infinity if you can get it working though.
ed. You should have a paypal donation link.
I will try to upload shortly, before testing with double doors or the like, you'll have to give me some time I have and AP and IB test tomorrow and another IB test the next day, not to mention i'm still sick >.> Though i will put a donation link which is a good idea :biggrin.gif:
May 3, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jason Dayspring »Ah well. ^^ Form is far more important than function anyway.
:Diamond:'s and thanks for the awesome work.
many thanks, however due to the want for double doors to be easily accessible (and my personal want to be considered the door master :biggrin.gif:) Function may well be more important, it will take time however, but i'd say you can now expect it, even with these doors.
It may be a separate mod that wil overwrite the original doors class however, as that way users can use it with the original doors as well.
Hopefully mojang won't sue my ass.
May 3, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jason Dayspring »Heh, I was afraid of that. I've done just enough coding with other games to know that some times things that seem simple are almost impossible.
I had a thought though. I've seen several mods with blocks that run on redstone, and transfer the redstone signal through to any block they touch. Would it be possible to make doors tranfer an anti signal? So that if one iron door gets a redstone signal, then it makes sure the two spaces next to it don't, and when it's signal is off it powers the two spaces beside it?
Not sure how redstone signals are given priority. Probably on takes precedence over off, so it could only work from one side, but it would still let two doors operate from the same button/pressure plate/switch as long as it was placed properly. That is, if it's even possible to make a block that isn't giving power transmit power.
I would suggest this for a redstone mod, but I'd want it to use with your doors, not the ugly default ones.
Now that would be possible. Damn hard considering how much of a b**** redstone is to work with (see my fountains mod), but definitely possible.
May 3, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Cool12309 »"Sure, let's use mods from 1.4_01 on 1.5_01, and see if they don't completely corrupt my game and my saves!"
Usually i don't mind people putting other people in their place, unless they're wrong.
That string is returned NO MATTER what version the game is compiled for, as such i can compile a mod for 1.5 and have Alpha 1.2 be returned.
As for Jason, anything with multiple blocks in one is really quite hellish >.> When i get around to actually starting on large doors I may work try, no guarantees. Oh, and go easy on notch, it's hard as a modder pleasing just the people who play with mods, imagine having to deal with the entire community's ******** :tongue.gif:
May 2, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jason Dayspring »^^ I loved your mod before I reinstalled Minecraft. I haven't redownload it yet because after reading about the enhancements you've added to the code I want to wait for the next version. :biggrin.gif:
:Diamond:'s for you and a too.
Can't wait to add this back in. I've been picking through the mods I'm using, trying to clear up enough sprites for it. If the next version has the option to only load the sprites from the doors I want to use then I'll be back with a for you.
Thanks for an awesome mod.
It has already been worked in my friend.
May 2, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from jetventus1 »obsidian doors are indestuctuble right
Dear god no, why would i do that? obsidian isn't indestructible in the first place. I do plan on adding different strengths of doors, but currently they are all a strength of 3F, to put that in perspective, stone has a strength of 2F, and the iron door itself has a strength of 3F (wood i believe is weaker, but i can't remember)
Rykazz, sent, and you may want to edit out your email for privacy reasons.
EDIT: jeventus1, you just gave me the idea for bedrock doors HOWEVER they will only be available through inventory editing and be off by default.
May 2, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from almono »i reinstaled it but it still is the same any idea :sad.gif: ?
use this to start minecraft and post everything that modloader outputs to the console in code blocks.
To find your errors, download this batch file to anywhere and run it (java must be in PATH, http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23286303/minecrafterrortest.bat . To fake your login (offline servers ONLY), add your desired username and "%random%" (no quotes) on the end of the long line.
oh and rykazz i've taken care of the if statements completely. Got rid of 300 lines of code because of that and other edits, but as it doesn't change any functionality or the like, i'll upload the source if you want, but i'm not going to take the time to upload the compiled classes, I'm tired and lazy :tongue.gif:
May 2, 2011Alright omnomnom, another stupid question, you have downloaded the latest version yes?Posted in: Minecraft Mods
May 2, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Omnomnom24 »I highly doubt it's Minecraft Extended, as I've tested a clean jar with just Modloader/Preader/this mod and it's still done it. For some reason it's pulling the textures from the very first blockid, which in this case is 'tile.stone'
if you're saying block id 1 (the first is actually 0) then yes it would be stone. I can't say i've tested with preader, and as such i will now, but i wonder do you have a texture pack installed?
May 2, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from rykazz »Hello,
Before you work on my previous suggestion, I have another that works with it.
Some of the door bottom sprites appear to use the same sprite as the block. i.e. cobblestone, lapis lazuli, ect...
It would be cleaner to use the block sprite instead of loading a new sprite identical to the block.
BTW, I'm also working on an idea to help you manage the list of doors with a for next statement instead of a group of if's
>.> i already implemented your previous suggestion.
As for the sprites, the reason i did that is because one, they actually aren't the same (three pixels are different, not really a huge deal but i like my hinges dammit!) and two, if i did that and a user with a texture pack came along (which i'm also working on implementing), the top would be default and the bottom would be the texture packs.
You know you really don't have to help all this much, I mean i appreciate it but it's no big deal :tongue.gif:
Thank you though, i do appreciate it. As for your idea concerning more efficient checks than a series of if statements, i've been working on that too.
However anything you do i'd be happy to take a look at (and credit you with if i use it).
