Then why don't you show them?

I normally don't think to record them but here's one trap that I did record

It's a replica of a house I made on a server where players could claim a small amount of land as their own, only the person who claimed that land can build/destroy blocks there. Despite this players could still harass you at your door thus I made that trap to deal with them.

I enjoy making traps. I'm not a redstone pro like some youtubers but I do know how to make all kinds of traps.

This has never happened to me before pre-1.9. Is it a fluke or is Stronghold generation bugged in 1.9? The entire Stronghold spawned as if it's been bombed several times over.

You should be lucky that they are not installing it automatically.

Anyone who has updates set to automatic and is unaware of this happening will get it automatically thus it is downloaded/installed automatically for anyone who leaves auto updates on. The point is it's a forced move that shows Microsoft does not care for freedom of choice. Given that who's to say Microsoft won't pull similar or worse crap elsewhere? Nothing good can come from a company that forces their will on others and removes freedom of choice.

Saria is not officially an NPC, nor are most of the other 'named' villagers, such as Impa or even Princess Zelda (the princess will be in the next update which has unfortunately been delayed due to computer issues).

If she ever achieves NPC status, she will indeed have her own custom texture at the very least, along with at least one quest. I don't really plan on adding her, though, so if you want her, use CustomNPCs. The only purpose she serves right now is to teach you Saria's Song.

Nope. Loot is randomly generated, and while some items have a higher chance in certain areas, the whip is not one of them. You'll just have to keep looking in secret rooms and defeating the boss temples until you find one. On the plus side, you're bound to find lots of other great loot on the way ;)

Good idea but can noppes custom npcs activate features from ZSS such as teaching songs? I know by default it has an option to check players inventory and give items to the players when interacting with them, but, songs are not items they are direct unlocks.

    Hey there!

I've never heard of anything like this, and there is no way Microsoft would make the mistake of doing that. Just make sure you aren't directly using Microsoft owned things in your video (you can show Minecraft, of course :P) and you'll be fine!

"Microsoft would make the mistake of doing that"

I would not trust a company that tries to force every OS into their newest system without permission. Not now not ever. They're dumb enough to attempt forcing users off an OS they like better (such as windows 7) and don't even want to give the user any say in the matter so I wouldn't doubt it if Microsoft pulled crap like this.

Awesome mod although Saria needs a custom texture like Barnes and Mask Salesman get when a villager is renamed to them. Looking at "Saria" and seeing squidward is kinda unsettling..

It won't be canon. There's no "story" to MInecraft. That's the point of the player's perspective; either in single player or an adventure map. I don't really think having "story mode" which is Mojang partnered would be kind of odd or even pointless. The fact that they're separate entities confuses and annoys me greatly. Its basically screaming for more money. It doesn't seem right for what was an indie game. If it's accessible to Minecraft players, I would be willing to check it out. It's not going to change my mind about Minecraft.

Minecraft belongs to Microsoft now everything's gonna be about money from now on.

You could use Archimedes to build yourself a thundercloudship.

Thanks I may have to try that. It looks a bit more complex though especially since

    "Air Balloon
The balloon is the essential block to build air ships. 40% of the blocks on a ship should be a balloon in order to give the ship the ability to fly. This percentage is

    adjustable in the config file.
Balloons will get the same colour as the wool it is crafted with."

If I can edit it down to 1% or so it should be fine otherwise It would be an odd looking cloud. Then again Zeppelin did have it's own problems with that too. If the ship was too large it would often suffer from lighting errors while active. I'm also curious exactly how closely it functions to Zeppelin. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

I was always pondering why people like a certain form over the other. What is your opinion on playing one over the other? What makes it better and more addicting!

    Debate it out!

For me I started on the Xbox it was fun but extremely limited. Moved to the pc tried mods and instantly loved it.Theres so many posabilities mods open up. For example you can use the Custom NPC mod to add npcs to the game besides those squidward look alikes (it has a lot of potential for abuse in SMP maps though), The Elemental Arrow mod which gives all kinda of amazing arrows to shoot from a bow or a dispenser (I always loved filling dispensers with lightning arrows and making thunder storms), Thaumcraft is another favorite it add lots of magic to the game it's first version is without a doubt my favorite of it's current versions (you could make a massive portal network and actually see through them if you got close enough), my all time favorite mod was the Zepplin mod for 1.2.5 which is long dead it let you break blocks from their grid and turn them into a fully functional vehicle. I had a mobile cloud fortress (made of wool) that I used that was full of dispensers loaded with lightning arrows from the Elemental Arrows mod

Heh, if my machine didn't explode upon contact with modded files, I'd be playing modded. As is, I'm playing Dwarf Fortress for a change of pace.

I can understand that. My previous pc did not handle Minecraft too well 4 gigs of ram does not work well for gaming. My current pc is up to 16 ggs and handles it a lot better (although playing the larger modpacks with hundreds of mods does seem to irritate it)

I find it strange that some people can be hard set to only play one form of the game, as both vanilla and modded minecraft have much to offer. I generally play a blend of both, depending on what mood I am in. If I am in the mood to try something completely new, I will often boot up whatever modpack is trending on FTB or ATL and check it out, although if I am in the food to do something a bit basic (yet much more complex) I will often play vanilla. When playing either, I generally like to play hardcore.

I agree with you I cannot comprehend why some people hate mods so much. Not all mods are overpowered (Dartcraft being an example of an over powered mod). They add a ton of fun to the game. And now some people hate 1.8 because "it feels modded" some of these people confuse me.

edit: I think you meant mood, not food.

posted a message on [1.8] Any way to turn off zombie sieges?
    Quote from Boovmnoid»
I finally got a village up after hours of work and I was attacked by a zombie siege. They spawned inside the houses and killed a good amount before I realized what happened. Is there a way to turn this off?

Unfortunately you cannot unless you were to use a mod that disables monsters (in which case your better off using peaceful). Something you could try is keeping a clock with you and building a fence around the village a little bit at a time and running far away as possible before it gets dark to unload the chunk so zombies don't spawn in it. Alternatively you could go into peaceful temporary and place torches in and on every building building fences around the village and place torches on them too. That should be enough to keep the zombies at bay.
