    i like this idea. i especially like the part where rage posts get moved to a seperate sub-forum. the recent update section is the only one i ever go on, and it annoys me that what seems like half of the threads are rage posts

    this is what i initially thought when i read the OP. It would be cool to walk around in a full set of emerald gear on a smp server just to show off :P

    you make a good point. i never realized what a massive gap that is...i guess it makes sense for emerald to be next to diamond in strength since they're both gems, but i can't say i know how durable emeralds are in real life.

    signed in just to tell you how much i love this idea! i'm currently making a texture pack that is supposed to be as realistic looking as possible (although it's 16x), and having random textures would make it soooo much more realistic than the same tiled texture 100 times.

    hi everyone! i just downloaded the updated version of this pack. i'm glad to see it's coming along nicely without me!
    sorry i don't have enough time to contribute anymore. i'm also working on a 16x texture pack of my own that is taking forever due to time constraints. keep up the good work, everyone! kudos to whoever made the notebook paper GUI. it's much better than the one i made xD

    Not unique. Check out the millions of so called, enhanced packs.transparent GUI's are annoying, creepers are used too often, woolen bed is strange, glass is so common. Do I need to goo on?

    This took 5 minutes. Period. Just sucks.


    wow, dude. so much negativity. ever heard of tact? i thought something similar when i saw this, but theres no need to act like a *****.

    the fact is that he's trying to make a unique texture pack for people who don't like to stray too far from the default textures.
    i know a lot of people that won't use texture packs that are too different from default so obviously theres an audience for this
    kind of pack.

    it doesn't effect you in any way that he uploaded this for people who want it, other than the few seconds it took you to look at it,
    and if that was a problem for you, you only made it worse by taking the time to post that hate rage.

    posted a message on my server crashes when i try to play on it.
    i'm running it on windows 7, using the craftbukkit server program. i usually don't have anything else running. i even close unnecessary background proccesses. i guess it could be a memory issue, as the first part of the error says :
    java.lang.outofmemoryerror
    followed by a dozen or so lines of what appear to be file locations, and then it says "unexpected exception"

    i'd post the whole thing but i can't copy/paste out of the server client. is there a command to copy error messages?

    EDIT: it doesn't make sense to me that it would be running out of memory, as it never did before, and i can run the server all day as long as i don't try to connect to it. and i can run the game for a long time as well. i can even run them at the same time as long as i don't connect to the server.

    i've been runnning a server on the same comp that i play minecraft on for a few weeks, just for 5ish people to play on. my computer randomly crashes (this is unrelated to the server and/or the mc client).

    ever since the last time it crashed, when i try to log on to the server i'm running on the same comp the game client says "downloading terrain" for a few minutes and then says the connection timed out.

    while the game does this, the server client comes up with a massive wall-of-text of errors and crashes.

    it might also be worth noting that no one else has this problem while connecting to my server, and i don't have this problem connecting to any other servers.

    it wouldn't be hard to update the terrain/items.png with the new textures, even if they have to be default for now.

    i feel like i havn't contributed in so long...i might take a crack at some mobs but sirmelty is doing a kickass job at that xD.
    i've done all the easy items. hmm......... :Sheep:

    i could upload more screens for the OP if you want. it seems pretty outdated, this pack might get more attention/downloads if you show off the awesome mobs and GUI B)

    EDIT: derp...i just realized he meant he can't use the pack cuz patcher/optifine aren't updated yet :Skeleton:

    i was under the impresion that "crying obsidian" was the texture used for the dragon egg... it looks very similar to me.

    where did you hear that? i mean they're obviously desert/sandstone related but i hadn't heard they were for the wells. any news on whether they're adding on to the wells or just retexturing them?

    It seems odd that they put textures in the game that have no associated block or purpose in survival mode. It seems to me like they intentionally left them in to cause interest and speculation to keep players interested for the next update. Has this thought occured to anyone else, or am I just paranoid?

    the seed: 999999999999999999

    for those of you having a hard time counting, that's 18 9's

    in this seed you spawn in water, near a small strip of sand and grass with no trees on it. i've flown around for awhile in creative and there appear to be no islands bigger than 20ish blocks above the surface and there are absolutely no trees on any of them! this would be an awesome seed for an ocean world server, or an extreme survival challenge.

    i'm not posting pics because it would just be of empty ocean...

    edit: just after posting this i found a relatively large desert only island. cactus and reed, still no trees...

    it doesn't need to be that different. the default wolf textures barely change. tame wolves get collars and angry wolves get red eyes and i think get tinted slightly darker. and i think in game it won't be a problem anyway since most players probably know what's going on with whatever wolves are nearby :tongue.gif:
