    anyone else notice leads disapeer after a while? twice now ive been out wandering about and came back to find the horses ive tied up with missing leads.
    be warned i guess not to use them except for short periods of time. =(

    im using raw fish. ive gotten 2 to come up *almost* close enough to click on them, then they just retreated away and kept on leaving and not coming back.
    wiki says you cant click on them while they are retreating, but i think thats wrong and you can based on what i saw someone do on youtube.
    clearing and trenches with water.... interesting. might check that out.

    Ok so ive seen some tips here. Though i disagree with one from what ive seen, but anyways, the rest has been pretty good.

    So far on youtube all ive seen is one person actually trying to tame one in creative mode, and he just cuts to the scene were its in front of him.
    All the other youtube vids are potatoeheads in creative mode spawning them yet putting in the title 'how to tame/capture an ocelot'.
    One video shows a guy making a chicken pit, and a cutscene where he must be just spawning an ocelot as a joke making the 'ocelot trap' appear to function.

    Ive been trying to get one now for the last couple days. I found a jungle (finally) thats 6000+ blocks north of my house. I pack up my fish and goodies and get on my horse to go up there. Made a bunch of maps in the process and looted some temples nearby.

    Ive spotted ocelot 4 times now in those two days. They all got away. Had the fish in my hand. Tried to sneak as much as possible and go stationary. Its been a real pain. lol.
    My wifes seen about 4 as well with also no luck.
    One of the spawns i had actually had 4 ocelots while the others were all singles. It appeared the 4 spawned at once, then they all took off in different directions, i followed one... lost it. never found the others..

    So.. my questions. Does killing sheep, cows and chickens in the jungle help increase the ocelot spawn rate? I assume it does, but im not sure. Does killing any of the animals possibly keep the ocelot from showing up nearby (scare it?). Will the ocelot only spawn while sneaking? Ive tried walking till i see one and have yet to spot one. Only time ive found them was WHILE sneaking, but it seems like you dont have to sneak until you start getting relitively medium distance to one before it runs.
    Do they despawn?
    Whats kind of freaking me out here, is ive yet to get one in two days, and i need 2 to bring back home to breed them. lol.

    How you been fairing with this? Any way to make this a simplier task? Mining diamonds is easier than trying to tame these. lol.
    Maybe noones made a video cause it takes so damn long to get one. lol.

    I keep seeing stuff like 'no oceans' and here I see something about ' too many' temples.
    check my latest map. this is my third world since 1.7 and so far they all have been like this for me.
    I have found huge bodies of water, and zero temples.
    on this map you see here I found 1 witches hut in the 4 swamps I ran across, zero temples, and no jungle at all so far.
    villages so far are 5 total over those size 4 zoom maps. out of the chests the only notables were 2 saddles and one iron horse armor.
    the land jutting down at the south ends and can be navigated around as the sea down there just keeps going.

    frankly back when I was playing mc previously I had sometimes worlds that were like the movie waterworld that just went on for weeks with no land or hardly any sometimes (which I despised)... so far ive not found any issue with the changes to large bodies of water (theres still plenty). out of these last 3 seeds ive also seen not a single temple.
    I just don't see these problems some folks are mentioning. if anything I could easily argue the opposite.
    my opinion is no matter what is released or how good it may be, theres always a group to complain.
    going to explore west next. need to find a jungle for some anti-creeper kittys still. already been to the nether and such on this one, so just expanding the horizons.

    if I was *going* to complain I might mention the horses don't breed well. you cant mix a great horse with a great horse because you will only get a junk horse. but I think that's not a newly 1.7.2 introduced problem.
    I seriously however don't care for the dimming sky under trees/platforms or in my house. =)
    if they don't change that im sure someone will mod it to remove it because its not very cool.

    mostly all I see is great new features though.

    ok.. I figured out what was wrong.
    its a bug. =/

    I just tried it again. Heres the steps I took.
    I start out at home base.


    Notice im in the center. Cool.
    Now.. I go 2048 over to the east and start a new map. then I head back home.
    heres the pic of the new map from my home.




    Now.. it worked coming home as you see. it explored some.. the problem now is the old map is broken (doesn't update my position). look when I pop it on.





    When I log out of the game completely and restart its temporarily 'fixed'. Anyways.. its just a map bug and it confused me. lol. someone feel free to report it.

    Havent seen any tutorials on youtube or anywhere else covering this.
    So thought id ask here. Using 1.7.2 on a multiplayer server on my lan.

    Ok.. so im in survival mode... I made a 'zoom step 4' map.

    I explored the whole thing. Now I want to make another zoom step 4 map to connect to the edge of this one without overlap, so when im done it can go on the wall (framed side by side) and look decent.

    On that wiki I read the step 4 map covers 2048×2048 blocks.
    I had started the first one at my house. my house was at x245 z131 (using F3)
    The next map I want to try is to the east of the current map. (right side)

    Assuming from what I read here, all I need to do is make the next new map at cords x2293 z131.
    (I added 2048 to the horizontal and kept the vertical plane the same)

    I did this. I explored out past the original map, into what I *thought* would be the center of the next one.
    However, it made the new map farther east than what it should have.
    Aka, theirs a large gap between the two maps.

    Are there some guidelines for doing this anywhere, or someone have some knowledge of this to share; for apparently im doing something wrong, or im missing something.

    it may be to late for me now to try that. been playing for a bit now since then. the only good thing i can say is i keep a couple chests with single # of each duplicatable item i have around just for my condensor. saved my butt. for now im keeping all diamonds and expensive items out of these chests/bags till i find out whats going on. i run my minecraft just from a desktop icon, not from any command line.

    while i haven't had a problem with any crashes.. i have twice now in the last 3 days had every single item in my achemical bag disapeer when i restarted my game. doesn't happen all the time. but twice now is enough to make me paranoid as hell about keeping anything in it. (bye bye talisman of rapair, diamond tools, etc.. ouch) im using latest version. any ideas and is this happen to other folks?

    indeed the logs aren't working. bummer. will have to check back. hehe now the only thing im wishing was that treecapinator mod worked with this. only cuts down the trees i cant use atm. lol.

    ok so we had a thread going here on how a lot of people have noticed there is no sounds now except the newsound folder with a few ambient sounds in the last two releases/updates. what this entails is if you delete your minecraft and download it fresh and new, its missing the folders in the resources directory. if you already have minecraft installed then you wont notice it. the only 'fix' ive found for this was to go out and google some audio files to put in there (then it mostly works), but even then some of the sounds are missing. i figured this would have been noticed by this last update but apparently not. i cant seem to report it either. anyone else, feel free to report it so we can have it resolved. thanks.
