Has anyone figured out how to make steel? Hopefully this hasn't been asked already. I've already made most the other alloys, but the guide book just says that it's unknown. Is this because it's only for other mods? Or is there an alternate way of getting it besides regular alloying? I figured it'd be some combination of iron and coal. Thanks!
In order to get steel, you need to either smelt chainmail (fully repaired) or use a different mod.
It also works the other way around, you have a hammer that is suppose to be able to mine a block and it just won't do it unless you target the block directly, thaumcraft shards and uranium ore from ic2. There are a couple more that I just can't remember. Also ferrous/lead/silver ore from TE breaks when you mine a block next to it even tho the hammer itself isn't capable of mining it(ie stone hammer and iron is needed).
That's how it's made to work. It was done to stop people from insta-mining obsidian by breaking a block of stone next to it.
Could you add support for RF (thermal expansion) power? It gets annoying to have to install a completely different mod just so I can power more than 3 machines at a time.
If the feather drop isn't already, could it be an option on the config? I use Better Breeding, and frankly, I have 0 reason to ever breed high quality chickens if I can get SEVEN feathers per chicken kill. Besides, you get two tons of meat from a full grown cow IRL, a very large amount of leather IRL, etc. etc. Small drops are for balance, not realism.
I agree that the extra drops should be a config, but for the meantime you should trash any of the extra feathers you get.
Ugh...by this time in my last world I had something like 50 diamonds, using the same mining and exploration techniques I'm using now. I hate to cheat in survival, but damn this is tedious.
All ore generation in MC is RNG (Random Number Generated). You're just having some really terrible luck.
A change to the seared stone recipes in the smeltery. Instead of a block of cobblestone giving 8 mB of seared stone and having the seared brick cost 144 mB and the seared stone cost whatever it costs, have a block of cobblestone/stone give you 1000 mB of seared stone, have a block of seared stone cost 1000 mB, and have seared brick cost 250 mB. Just to have stuff make a little more sense.
Not that the idea isn't good, but doing something like that would make smelteries much too easy to make. The way it is now is more or less a good way to get rid of excess cobble and get something good in return. (truth be told, I hate that it needs 18, because it's completely out of the normal minecraft stack numbers (16,32,64, etc.)
So, for some reason in my modded client, items will automatically change to different ID's in my inventory.
For example, if I have copper ore from IC2 and copper ore from Thermal Expansion, they will change to a common one after awhile, which I find kind of useful.
However it's extremely annoying when I have a cell (lets say it's a ethanol cell), it will change into a empty cell.
How do I disable this?
Oh goodness, that's one zero too many. Can you send me your config folder and your NEI ID dump? Thanks.
I retried it after deleting the config folder, and it seems to be working fine. I think it was actually caused by be messing around with the configs prior to running the resolver. Thanks anyways though.
I seem to be having a problem where MultiMC is permanently stuck in "checking assets" mode. I've checked the log, and it doesn't look like it's doing anything at all. Any help appreciated.
