Ok, I get that it's for building without distractions, but why are there a myriad of options that don't do anything? What's the point of being able to pick 'mesa'. and upon creation you get a grass superflat? If an option is available, it should work, if it's not, it should be ghosted out. But noooooo...

I really do not understand. I'm playing Creative/Peaceful on PS3, and actually am working on a superflat village build. But when I go to 'customize superflat' and try to use different biomes, no matter what I do, all I ever can get is flat plains, sometimes with a village or two. No trees, no flowers, no water, no lava, NOTHING.
What am I doing wrong?

I play PS3 & 4 in creative mode. PS3 is kind of OK, but PS4, OMG, the selected block indicator is simply invisible, especially to old eyes. Not only young people play MC, seasoned citizens do too, and the invisibility of the lines can make things difficult and frustrating. Mojang, please fix this.

Far as I know, you have to make your own maps. "Empty Map" is in the weapons inventory. Put it in tour bar, then select (hold) it while you fly around You'll see it start to plot. I do the edges, then fill in the center by flying back and forth in rows.Making a map is the first thing I do with a new world. Any villages will show on the map, but you have to look close, they can be hard to see. If you don't hold the map it won't plot. Hold it in front of your face to read it, raise our eyes/view to watch where you're flying so you don't hit a mountain.
Java you can zoom in by using a crafting table, PS just is what it is. I think.

Well, I'm not much of a gamer, I like to build, and I do that on PS3 or 4. I got the java because a co-worker has a MASSIVE world on his private server and I want access to that to learn about design, redstone devices (he has lots of both) and probably most, I want to cultivate my ability to "think" Minecraft. I'm not good at that right now...

Not great, but hey, it worked...
In game, go to Host pop-up menu (the little select button on controller), set night, set dificulty to hard, set game to survival. Then, die and respawn. Follow steps again and go back to creative peaceful.
The boat does not go away, you're just out. I didn't want to get anywhere near it, so I buried it under a pile of obsidian like a Chernobyl reactor.

OK, don't want to get in trouble for cross-post, but the other thread is somewhat derailed, so I will try to make this as clear as possible.
Playing PS3, aquatic update.
No daylight cycle, no weather cycle.
I'm getting stuck in boats. No matter what I do, I cannot exit. Have used all buttons, run aground, cursed, mashed buttons like crazy. I simply cannot get out. This is extremely frustrating when it stops your world build. Hard to build a castle when you're stuck like this and you have hours into the build.
Do not give me java keystrokes.
Do not give me Xbox procedures.
Do not give me PS4 solutions.
Until I find an answer, I'm never using a boat again.
