I don't know what your gaming budget looks like, but maybe you should consider getting Skyrim and if you've got some money left over, consider getting a used copy (if you've got a console) of Saints Row 2 for a low price. Just because the third Saints Row is out doesn't mean the second one isn't a great game.

I'm glad you two like the aesthetics. Again, to anyone who has given this map a go, feedback would be greatly appreciated.

posted a message on How to make a map, some questions.
    1) Minecraft Save Seed Reader. https://github.com/thedarkfreak/Minecraft-Save-Seed-Reader/wiki
    2) Put bonemeal on grass blocks
    3) I'd say sand and stone... maybe with some dirt
    4) Be aware of your use of lighting, as it can be used to lead players to certain places, set the mood, and create aesthetically pleasing contrast.

Edit: Also, I'd recommend giving the World Painter program a look, as it may be useful in creating the regions to your liking.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to present to you "The Nethergardens", a dungeon crawl pitting the player against a host of dangerous foes, twisting corridors, and radical environments!

In the land of Minecraftia, there is a prophecy foretelling of a Great Hero destined to journey through the perilous Nethergardens to recover the long-lost Sword of Justice, a blade unmatched in its ability to slay wicked things. Will you succeed where many others have failed and become the Great Hero?

    Some screenshots for your perusal:

Taken with ejbs- Ancient World texture pack

Taken with Shining Force v4.3 texture pack

    Good luck, adventurer!

Should you survive (or not!) the journey, feedback would be appreciated. :smile.gif:

Just remember you're an adventurer, not a landscaper, so don't place or remove blocks!
Don't play on peaceful difficulty. Only a brave adventurer may lay claim to the Sword of Justice!

It should be noted that this map does not require any mods.

If you enjoyed this adventure, be sure to check out my other dungeon crawl, Dead Dwarf City.

Some 360 games I've enjoyed, off the top of my head:
Halo 3, ODST, and Reach, Gears of War, Perfect Dark Zero, Rainbow 6 Vegas and its sequel, dragon age, Ace Combat 6, Call of Duty 2, 3, and 4 (haven't played the more recent ones, so can't vouch for them), Crackdown, Dead or Alive 4, Saints Row and its sequel, Grand Theft Auto 4 and its expansions, Project Gotham Racing, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

posted a message on What do you guys think about Dwarf Fortress?
I enjoy Dwarf Fortress quite a bit. Fortress mode makes for a fun city management sim while adventure mode is one of two rogue-likes that's kept my interest for more than an hour (the other being Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup). I play with the phoebus tileset and a graphics set that's a mix of mayday and my own sprites (for the "civilized" entities and some of the newer animals, like cavies.)

I find that my longest lasting forts are the ones that are put in dire predicaments, as such predicaments stave off fort-ending boredom. I remember one of my favorite forts had been overrun by orcs (mod) and the few survivors that managed to escape the onslaught had to fend for themselves in the sewers with no food and very few supplies while the one surviving miner went about making paths around the orc-occupied portions of the fort to bring the survivors together. Eventually the survivors managed to scrounge enough supplies to make some crossbows to snipe off the orcs with from across a pool of water and the fort recovered once the orcs were dead.

I gave this map a spin. It was a fun challenge, though I'll second the comment that checkpoints would've been nice. Also, the time limit at the last part seems a little draconian. That said, I enjoyed it. Thanks for the map!
