posted a message on Journey to the Core Modpack

Is there a height limit on them? Is there any way to avoid them going right through my base? Is there any counterplay other than simply praying to RNGesus? I'd like to keep them on as it's a part of the pack.

posted a message on Journey to the Core Modpack

Don't know if this is the best place to post this or if there is a better place to post it but:

Just started playing the pack, and am pretty impressed with it so far, if also a bit frustrated but I assume that will get better as I play a bit more and learn the mods.

One question though. My base randomly despawned and there was a large swath of lava in its place, maybe 50-100 blocks down.

This was where my base should've been. You can see the tree farm, apple tree, small farm off to the side etc.

This was what was in place of my base. Or... in lack-of-place? of my base.

There is very little information on this modpack via a google search aside from curse links and forum links, so I figured I would come to the forum and ask instead of looking through every single one of the 79 mods that the pack requires to determine what happened.

So... Why did my base decide to destroy itself? Would like to know now so I don't do this in the future, as I now have to start over.

posted a message on New launcher launching in offline mode consistently

Using the new launcher, (only occurring today, so my first thought was a MS issue, but I figured I would post here to see if I could come up with anything) my game will 90% of the time launch in Offline Mode. I can occasionally get it to launch in online mode, but infrequently.

This was originally happening on my modded client, but I uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh version and confirmed it is also happening on a fresh install. I do have an internet connection, otherwise I wouldn't be posting this.

From what I've been looking through, no.

If it's of any consequence--I got the 1.10.2 version via Curse, version 2.6.1.

Casting channels are no longer part of Tinkers in 1.10.2. Not so simple when the mod no longer has things that function as pipes.

Posting here for curiousity--is there a way IN TINKERS to transfer liquids (en masse) from the smeltery into the tinker tank? Or do I need another mod like EnderIO to transfer fluids for me? I feel like I'm missing something, or if I'm not, I feel like the mod is missing something.

Figure I should put a close to the subject, just in case someone along the internet comes across it:

Router/modem was faulty, wasn't holding ports open. New router, no problem.

posted a message on Modded Hamachi Server Crash

Mmm, that was the only thing I could come up with. College only uses Cat5e and limits our up/down speeds as to not allow a single user to bottleneck the network too heavily.

Off of Ethernet--4.05MBPS down, .6MBPS up. Well, I guess I did indeed find my issue.

Edit::As an aside--each time she crashes, she doesn't just time out. The entire game locks up, she has to force quit the application. I could understand my network throwing the exception that she occasionally will time out, but it's not just a time out. It's a "my game entirely froze".

posted a message on Modded Hamachi Server Crash

So, I'm a college student, and I can't always have someone open my dedicated server back home on my server PC, so I thought I would try a modded Hamachi workaround while that isn't possible. So, I'm running it off of my desktop. All mod versions are the same for whom I'm playing with. Forge version is the same. On Hamachi, she's got a direct tunnel to me. Yet sometimes she crashes. This doesn't happen when on the dedicated server, and this otherwise works perfectly--except for the fact that hard crashes occur.

    I'm on Windows 10.

    She's on OS X 10.11.6.

Both machine's hardware is perfectly capable of running this, I have a 6700k, and she's running it off of a MacBook Retina Pro.

    Any thoughts are much appreciated.

posted a message on Running a server off of a different port?

I apologize for the incredibly late reply, working is lovely.

Alright, so here's the list of steps I go through:

    • Set static IP. All of my machines have static ethernet IPs set to them, both of my computers (one for gaming, another for servers), and one laptop. All are recognized.
    • Run ipconfig in cmd to check that I have the correct inputs one more time. Go to gateway on Chrome.
    • Go to the "Advanced" tab
    • Go to the "Port Forwarding" tab
    • Check off enable, and then click "Add service"
    • Leave the "Common service" set to other.
    • Leave the "Service type" set to TCP/UDP.
    • Set "Service name" to Minecraft Server
    • Select the machine I'm attempting to do it from in the list to auto-fill IP and IPV6 addresses (I've tried it on both my server and gaming machine)
    • Set the start port to 25565
    • Set the end port to 25565

So here's the kicker. The first time I attempt to open up any port, it goes through, and my router "acknowledges" it. Chrome sees that it's there. I go to a new tab and find any generic port checker, and I check the port I just opened. Nada. It ain't open. I reboot my machine to check and just make sure... Annnnddd it ain't there. All of my other settings I might've changed while in my router's settings have stayed. If I enable parental controls and set my machines to be trusted, parental controls is still on and my machines are still marked off. Port forwarding is still set to enabled. But literally none of my ports are there. And when I attempt to open up the same port I just tried, I now get a "Failure! Check your inputs." error message. This occurs regardless of the port I attempt to open. I can open it once per reset, and then I get failure messages, and it isn't open.

If you need any more info I'll be more than happy to oblige, 'cause Comcast is about as useful as t*ts on a bull.

I've already rebooted. Twice. I've restarted my gateway via the router utility in Chrome, and hard reset it once more. It doesn't apply the forwarded ports either way, and I can't figure out why. gonna be in touch with Comcast support tonight to see if they can figure out why their stuff ain't working.

Does this create any issues? For some reason, my router isn't letting me open up 25565. Would there be any issues with opening another port up?

posted a message on MFR-BC-PHC interaction

Hey! So, I've recently run into a problem that I've never had before: Minecraft crashing due to a Minefactory Reloaded-Pam's Harvestcraft interaction. With Buildcraft thrown in. Every time I place a harvester down, connected with BC pipes to an iron chest, also connected to a stirling engine, the game crashes. It says that it's dropping the stacks in air (which I've had issues with before) but once I've restarted it's fine. Each time I restart, it crashes the game before I even get into the world. I had to take out mfr for the world to even load. But: the game only crashes with PHC added items. It does not crash when it is harvesting a rubber tree. It does not crash harvesting any type of Vanilla tree. It only crashes with PHC. I've recently moved from a desktop to a laptop for schooling purposes, and I never had this issue on my desktop at home.
