posted a message on Wall-Jump! - Jump from wall to wall

Jump from wall to wall in Minecraft 1.12.2! This mod adds wall-jumping and wall-clinging to the game.

To wall cling, hold forward and the wall jump key (W + LSHIFT).
Keep holding W, and let go of LSHIFT to do a wall jump.

    Some configuration options:
    - The wall jump key (LSHIFT by default, but SPACE works well too)
    - Your sprinting speed (slightly faster than vanilla by default)
    - The minimum distance for fall damage (small falls won't slow you down)
    - Wall jump height (just in case you don't like the default value)
    - Single-wall wall-jumping (climb upwards using only a single wall)

    - Double jumping! (off by default, but it's a really fun feature)
(Servers with the mod installed will force clients to use your config)

You can download the latest version of Wall-Jump here.

Any suggestions / feedback / bug reports are welcome!

I mean, there is this: http://mkb-wiki.herokuapp.com/scripts/list
But I think a more easily accessible list would help more people out.

Came here to say this. I think it would be nice if this site or something similar was linked in the OP. This mod has near-unlimited potential, and I'd like to see what other people have come up with.

posted a message on Shield Model 1.9

Thank you for the advice, but I went and figured out how to make a shield model shortly after making my original post. This one is for personal use as well, as I cannot stand tacky looking boards called shields in vanilla Minecraft. Here was the result!

I was having the same issue with my custom shield model wherein the shield wouldn't actually move when my avatar was blocking.

I used your suggested method above and it fixed it.

However, I am encountering a new issue. When blocking, the shield texture transforms into the vanilla model texture (it doesn't stay as my texture). To what model is the new "shield.json" referring to? Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was missing the "shield_base_nopattern.png" file. Now everything is working fine. I've a spiffy new shield now.

    Thanks!

That looks amazing! Currently I'm trying to figure out how to make my own shield models, I would appreciate if you could help me by putting this up for download?

Aside from the performance tweaks, OptiFine greatly improves the aesthetic of the game by allowing you to remove the fog. I think even, that was its original goal. I use the zoom key frequently. You can turn off the dreaded rain particles and their sounds. It's also a substitute to MCPatcher and allows things like random mob textures from resource packs.

There are some bugs I'd like to point out, some have been in the mod for a while and one I think is new:

    - You can't see what level anisotropic filtering is set to in the Quality Settings.
    - Although fog can be turned off for the general terrain, mobs are still blocked by fog, causing far off entities to appear blue.
    - I'm not sure if random mobs still work. Maybe I just don't know how to utilize them.
    - (This is a bug with vanilla MC actually; 3D items don't rotate with the player)

I've noticed that the vanilla brightness slider changes the gamma level from 0.0 to 1.0 in options.txt; you can manually adjust this number to go below 0.0 (-0.5 is nicest), and it results in terrifyingly dark nights and caves. While not particularly useful, I think that a brightness slider that could go down to -100%, just as it can already go to 100%, would be a feature that many players would appreciate. If there was one new feature that I'd like to see in OptiFine, it would be this. Regardless, I thank you for many years of supporting this mod, it has made Minecraft that much more bearable.

I need some help. How do I create a sound pack that just changes the bow.ogg sound?

Open your .minecraft folder. Make the following directory.
    .minecraft / audiotori / <nameofsoundpack> / sound3 / random
In the 'random' folder, place your custom bow.ogg.

But if I set the render distance to tiny, back in 1.4.2, the large map wouldn't show only the rendered terrain, but a lot more. Somehow, it doesn't seem to work with the current loaded chunks, or it asks to briefly load chunks to save the image of the surface. (I'm just guessing, as I don't know how it works). The thing is that before it worked and now it doesn't...

Yeah this is happening for me too. It seems to be new in the 1.4.4 update. I hope it gets fixed.
