Hey, this is for you all that are following this topic, the texture pack has been updated! I created a new thread, since the first few posts on this thread were very critical, I have improved the pack A LOT since it first came out, so I felt that those posts are no longer valid. the new thread link is here. Actually, I've had enough of minecraftforums. Here's a link to the planetminecraft post: http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/simply-cute-texture-pack/
wow i had no idea you asked this im noit sure what had been going on it was a while ago but it was fixed now im just waiting for your new update for 1.2.3 i cant wait to see what texture your going to make for the cats!
=[ im sorry but ive been feeling sick lately.. it might not get updated for a while..
The texture pack is called "Simply Cute texture pack!"
Before I got sick and procrastinated too much.. I was working ona new stone type block texture. I'm not sure if it's perfect yet but I'll be tweaking it.. after I feel good enough to do it =[.
Well, svchost.exe is an important process. It runs a lot of background system services, but it can hog a lot of memory. There might be one than one svchost process running at once, and I'd surmise that they run different services. Two things: you should be able to use task manager to kill the one using the most memory without too much trouble. And the process might be taking up a lot of memory because a virus is masquerading as the process, so I'd run a virus scan as well, can't hurt. Other than that, there isn't a lot that can be done...
And in response to your last question, the Event Log logs system events, so it's necessary for the system. I can't fathom why it's causing issues with Minecraft, only that a) it may not itself be the root cause of the problem, you've never been able to run Minecraft without it have you? And b ) no, you shouldn't kill it, even if you could.
EDIT: no smiley I don't want you
I ran a full virus scan using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes through the night, and both came up with 0 results. The only thing I can think of that has changed, system file wise is Windows Updates.. I haven't changed any drivers or anything to that effect. I know I was able to play properly without this issue on Feb. 15th, but.. now that I think of it, I had this issue, just far less commonly. I was building a bridge to my skeleton grinder and it was bothering me, so I restarted and it went away. It doesn't go away anymore. I know I was able to play on the 15th, because that's when this image is dated of when I killed the Enderdragon! *brag*
Edit: Oh.. wow. I tested another world and it doesn't have this issue. I didn't bother trying it but it was that specific world.. it's not even lag spikes.. I was associating it with another issue I had before, but after testing to see svchost's involvement in that, it wasn't. They're different, and this issue only occurs on one map. I'll upload it if anyone wants to try it to see if it happens to them.
Hope it helps. Please let me know what your findings are
Okay, if you understand the services and stuff, then tell me what services are being hosted by the svchost that lags you please. I narrowed it down by disabling all of the services tied to my svchost one by one, and none of them were the cause, except one I couldn't disable, Windows Event Log. I would try to disable it at startup, but the description of the service says this:
This service manages events and event logs. It supports logging events, querying events, subscribing to events, archiving event logs, and managing event metadata. It can display events in both XML and plain text format. Stopping this service may compromise security and reliability of the system.
With that kind of info.. it seems unwise to try to disable it. EventLog is only causing issues with Minecraft, I have tested another Java game and it didn't lag me. Is there someone experienced enough to know why the eventlog is causing issues with minecraft?
I have this crippling lag spike issue with Minecraft. I used windows task manager to check, showing processes from all users, and there's an svchost.exe that just hogs up all the cpu, which is apparent that it's the one causing the lag spikes.
Right clicking that svchost and selecting go to services, it takes me to the services tab with these ones highlighted: wscsvc, lmhosts, Eventlog, Dhcp, and Audiosrv.
They happen every few seconds, I have to either restart my computer or the game to get it to stop, but it always returns. It happens whether or not I have Optifine installed. deleted minecraft.jar and did a force update, but it still happens! I did a quick virus and malware scan, not a full one yet because those tend to take foreverrrrrr.
I have Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit
4GB of ram
intel celeron cpu processor 450 @ 2.20GHz 2.19GHz (no idea what that means)
NVidia Geforce 9500 GT graphics card (drivers are up to date)
I think so. The cartoon channels are mostly about the teen shows instead of actual cartoons. I disliked disney when I was younger because it wasn't even cartoons anymore.. when I was a little kid, they used to show mickey mouse and whatever cartoons. I dislike disney now because their shows are horse ****, but that's just my opinion. Even Nickelodeon is showing a lot of icarly and victorious or whatever it is, more than cartoons a lot of the time. Kids cartoon channels should be for kids cartoons! They really ought to make better cartoons aswell.. some of the current ones are awful. I don't think brain rotting cartoons are what the kids need, but better ones. Compare new Spongebob episodes to the old season 1 ones. Anyway, all the teen non-cartoon show are too prevalent in the kids channels in my opinion, which is encouraging them to grow up faster.
Basically if light passes through the glass the light becomes tinted, green glass makes green light, red glass makes red light. Red glass would be cool for custom maps to add ambience n stuff.
And ingame clubs :3
Oh, I see! A disco dance floor that actually changes color, that seems pretty cool. I think that colored glowstone should be a mod, but I do think stained glass should be in vanilla Minecraft.
