zorket posted a message on Dinner Plate: All food like cakes!Posted in: SuggestionsDinner Plate
The dinner plate is a proposed item, which can turn any Minecraft food into a block, like cake!
This crafting recipe makes a green-ware plate, which is just a clay formation of a plate. It looks like this:
To turn this into a plate, smelt it in a furnace.
You get a complete plate:
Thanks to cerealkiller for the plate pictures!
Once you have a plate, you can put any food on it by right clicking it. From there, you can eat the food at your own pace, so you don't waste any!
Here are some ideas that other users have suggested:
After finishing meat, a bone will pop out.
Placing food on plates can be a way to feed animals.
After a plate is used, it probably will get dirty. So wash it in a cauldron before using it again!
Eat with silverware like a civilized human! Maybe THAT could be made of iron!
By popular demand, bowls should be made placeable instead of plates.
Food on plates could be pushed by pistons, and output redstone comparator signals.
For smaller food items, multiple items should fit on one place, for example, cookies and carrots.
Plates are only stackable to 8! Otherwise the tower will topple over!
The amount of hunger food restores stays the same even when on a plate. So if something restores 3 bars, eating one bite will restore one bar and only 2/3 of the food will remain.
Cerealkiller made an amazing signature for this topic! Help us support by using it!

The signature looks like this:
Another idea in mind: If you have smaller food items, like cookies or carrots, you should be able to fit multiple of them on one plate!
If you like this idea, don't forget to press the green arrow right below this post to give reputation!

Snowviraptor posted a message on Pigeons! A tameable mob with a purpose! You'll "dove" what I've added!Posted in: SuggestionsNew Thread Here:

Support this idea on reddit! Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/2ympop/pigeons_a_tamable_mob_with_a_purpose/
Also, please stop giving fixes for a lag issue that has been fixed for half a year. We don't really need it any more, and it's getting quite annoying. If there is still a lag issue that I haven't stated, then please alert me of it.
Isn't it hard walking over 1000 blocks just to deliver a single item? Yes you can make rail systems to send large amounts of items, but I find a simpler way is necessary. My answer: Delivery Pigeons.
Pigeons spawn in forest-like biomes. They can be tamed with 2-5 pumpkin seeds, and 5 hearts. They will then follow you around until you are ready to send a message. The pigeon would look like this:
It would be able to fly (follow), or stand (sit), until you are ready. When you want to send something, shift+right click the tame pigeon, and this GUI will come up.The 6 slots are for the items that you want to send, the send button sends the items, the cancel button exits the menu without sending, and the black box is for the players name. I decided on 6 slots, so that clever rail systems are not obsolete.
A new block would also be added called the perch, when a pigeon is sent, it will land on one of the receiving player's perches.
Crafting:
A perch:I'm clueless about redstone, but I think that If a pigeon is on a perch, a comparator could give off a signal, but not if the perch is empty. You could create pigeon alarms using this. Please tell me if this is not how comparators work!
Preches can be named for 0 xp in an anvil, so you can type: "playername perchname" to decide exactly which perch you will send the pigeon to, without too much expense.
Adventure map makers can use commands to give perches custom names, without having the playername. This is so that you don't have to send messages to the author of the map to complete a puzzle.
If the player you are sending the items to does not have enough perches, the pigeon will just put the items back in your inventory (Or on the ground if there is not enough space).
When you send a pigeon to a user, It will appear to fly away, but when it reaches an unloaded chunks, it will teleport to one of their perches, with a delay depending on distance between the 2 objects, the blocks:minutes ratio would be about 500:1. If the distance is shorter than 200 blocks, It will just fly the distance (and load any unloaded chunks). This is so that on small map PVP servers, and UHC's you can have fun shooting down enemy pigeons. It would be hard to do this, as they fly twice as fast as a player sprinting.
It will then appear in the "view" any nearby players, and land on it. If no players are nearby, it will just be sitting there. If it can't reach a perch in any way, it will noclip through the layer of blocks, I cant see how this could be used for griefing. Once the player has found it, and taken the items, it becomes that players pigeon. Only the owners of pigeons can use their inventories.
I'm sure you can see how this can help in multiplayer, but what about the people who are strictly singleplayer? I've sorted this too.
Imagine that you are in the middle of nowhere, and lost. You have been wandering for hours, because you have your diamond armour, sword, and pick with you. You see a pigeon flying around, but ignore it. Then you see pumpkins. You grab them, and turn them into seeds, and tame the pigeon. Next thing you know, your armour, and tools are flying home. You then find a ravine...
You obviously could just have a pigeon follower, or a pigeon farm just for the fun of it.
And there's the potential for minigames/ puzzles. Try an shoot down pigeons before they get to you, or have to send items in pigeons to complete the puzzle... The possibilities are huge.
Pigeons spawn like cows, and pigs, and don't despawn. They lay eggs like chickens, and you can throw these to get baby pigeons
A comparison of adult and baby pigeons:Since previous tamable mobs like horses, and cats have multiple skins, pigeons would have a chance to spawn with dove colours.
Possible suggestions made by the community:
ThesaurusRex and I worked on creating a more realistic pigeon, that would still fit the game. It has a larger tail, chicken eyes, and a smaller head. The legs are also different.Reddit user coolreader18 (and a few other people) suggested letters. Crafted with one paper, and one feather, they store a single page of writing, and make a good aesthetic, and are a cheaper way of sending text.
Thank you for reading my suggestion. If you don't like it, don't just say: "No support" Give me a reason like:
"I don't like the trees, No Support." So that I can improve the suggestion.

TNT123BOOM posted a message on The Legends Are true, DAY 15 RELEASED :D (AidenR0 Meme Journey, Update: 15)
•Welcome to AidenR0 Meme Style Surivival Journey, Or for short AMSSJ
This is a survival journey created to make people have Fun while reading through
the journey, Don't believe? Try it you're Self•Sorry For Major spelling issues in the journey
E.g: Using word From instead of for, and saying day 2 instead of Day 3 in Day 3•Make sure to follow this thread so you will see the latest days
◘Note: i do take a while in making these days, longer than playing the actual day,
(i know that i said in the first comment that i am fast at making this, but i am not.. :l)•Note 2: As of Day 11 Eastereggs are included in everyday from day 11 and after, now go ahead and seek for them
•Day 1:
•Day 2:
•Day 3:
•Day 4:
◘Day 5,6,7,8 And Day 9 are in Page #5
◘Moved there due to slow loading OP, and slow image Loading
◘Thanks goes to Zeno410 for telling me about the Slow OP loading :3
◘Day 10 and 11 are in Page #6◘Day 12,13 is in Page #7 Comment #129
◘Day 14, 15 is in Page #8 Comment #148
○Important:
•As of Day 11 there was a big problem that have
put this Surival journey in terrible danger of closing
All Items in Chests/Inventory/Furnaces and basically anything with storage
(including Item Frames/Paintings) are Disapeared, Due to Opening This world in
Minecraft 1.7.10 instead of 1.8.7 (which made items disapear)
◘FAQ:•How this happened?/Why this happened?
◘Basically because when loading a 1.8 world in a 1.7 world (or reverse)
Makes 1.7 goes crazy? why? becaue ID, IDs in 1.7 or lower was Numeric
Meaning Stone was 1, but when minecraft 1.8 came out, Mojang replaced the
Numeric IDs with names meaning: Stone is "minecraft_stone"
so when loading a 1.8 world in 1.7, 1.7 will see "minecraft_stone" and will
say "What the heck is this thing?" and deletes it, and there is no known
Way to fix this issue, that why BACK-UP is always important (which mine got
deleted by accident)
•Ok so what you did?
◘Got a bit upset, but accepted the thing•How you will fix it?
◘Once that happened There was 3 Options:
1.Collect/Gather all items All over again
2.Go to creative and get my lost items using my screenshots of items
3.Stop this journey
First i went to Option #1, but taking that was a big risk, since collecting all items
all over will be over 10 Days and will make this journey Boring
So i had to do Option #2 (never thought about #3 and never will)
Sorry for people who consider this cheating, but losing your items like that, and stopping a
successful journey is not in a good thing..•Oh i am sorry for your items.. can i go now?
◘.. Yea•One more question, I have accidently dropped a Chocolate icecream on my shirt, what should i do? its not going off.
◘Rub it with water and soap then put it in water for some amount of time and for the next time
make sure to take that shirt off and wash it quickly•I'm scared.. i want a hug :3
◘Awww come here little guy•Will you give me a sandwhich if i rate this awesome?
◘...
•Just make sure to leave a vote on the poll and an Upvote/Like/Green Button with white arrow thingy is pleased
•Potatoes are awesome >:D

Cerealkiller posted a message on Skull Candles! [+200 Supporters!]Posted in: SuggestionsAs some of you may have noticed, I am no longer actively supporting this suggestion (although I'd still like to see it in-game). That means no new content will be added to this thread. Thanks for all the support! I'm surprised this thread is still alive.
For the lazy ones:
•It is a new light source;
•It is a new decoration block;
•There is two different types;
•Normal;
•Nether variant (or Wither).
•There is 4 different appearance for each type, but only one will be in the game if this is implemented;
•Torch on top;
•Retextured torch (candle) on top;
•Glowing eyes;
•Glowing eyes, nose, mouth (this one is an alternative of the glowing eyes, so it doesn't really count).
•Each type have its own crafting recipe, only the skull type changing;
•Normal type generates in strongholds and in the lower part of pyramids (or Desert Temples);
•When destroyed, drops a skull (or Wither skull if Nether variant) and a torch;
•Breaks when water or lava tries to flow through it;
•You can't wear it as a helmet;
•You cannot spawn a Wither using the Nether variant instead of the normal Wither skulls;
•Can be placed in 16 different directions;
•Can be placed on walls;
•Both type have a Redstone variant;
•Emits a dim light;
•Gives off Redstone power;
•Can be turned off by right-clicking.To modders:
If you want to make a mod with this, tell me.
Currently, bigeaspk and Mr_danpain volunteered to make one.Okay, so... I was thinking about new decoration blocks to be added in minecraft, when I thought about skull candles.
These ''candles'' would be crafted with a torch on top of a skull. They will both serve as a new light source and a decoration. Breaking a skull candle would give back a skull and a torch. They would also generate in strongholds and at the bottom of desert temples.
There is also a Nether variant: the Wither skull candle (very original name *cough*)! They are crafted the same way as a normal skull candle (but with a Wither skull) and breaking them gives back a Wither skull and a torch. They wouldn't generate anywhere, because it would be too easy to get wither skull to spawn The Wither. It would also be impossible to spawn the Wither with them.
Both types will be destroyed if water or lava attempts to flow through the skull candles. Like heads, they can be placed in 16 different directions and on walls. However, you cannot wear it on your head.
There is a Redstone variant for both the normal Skull and the Wither one. Like normal Redstone torches, they emit a dim light and give off Redstone power.
Appearances:All these images were modified. It took me a long time to make them (though it doesn't look like it).
Normal:
Original:Nether Variant (Wither):
•Torch on topRedstone:
•Retextured torch on top
•Glowing eyes
•Glowing (Alternate)
•Torch on top
•Glowing eyes
Original:
•Torch on topRedstone:
•Retextured torch on top
•Glowing eyes
•Glowing (Alternate)
•Torch on top
•Glowing eyes (I love this one)
Models:
These are models, so they're just the object itself, so no background, effects, ect.
Normal:
Wither:
Oh ho ho!! Didn't expect that, did you?
Again... why not?
Well, I wasn't going to skip this one!
Last one. I promise.Crafting Recipes:
(Idea based on a suggestion from Kitteh6660, or someone else, I don't really remember...)
This section shows the different crafting recipes for the different Skull Candle appearances, if they were all added in the game. For now, I'll just show the recipes for the Normal type. For the Wither type, the Skeleton Skull changes to a Wither Skeleton Skull and for the Redstone variant, the Torch changes to a Redstone Torch.
"The Candle one is too complicated". I thought that the two dyes could change the Torch's color, while the string represents the wick.
•Skull Candle
•Skull Candle (Redstone variant)
•Wither Skull Candle
•Wither Skull Candle (Redstone variant)
As suggested by PatDay, The redstone variant could be turned off by right-clicking, allowing for secret switches (however, to make the switch secret, it would only work with the glowing version of the Redstone Skull Candle).
What do you guys think? You may leave some feedback if you'd like to, I'm not forcing you.

Alexcamostyle posted a message on More Gamerules! [Over 300 supporters!]Posted in: SuggestionsIf you support, please vote up top!!
I have a few ideas for new gamerules, to give mapmakers and normal players alike more power
Just in case you don't know what gamerules are, here's a quote from the Minecraft Wiki: "Game Rules allow players and command blocks to adjust several base settings." In other words, gamerules are a set of commands that change the way each individual world works.
If you want to see the gamerules that already exist in Minecraft, go to this link: http://minecraft.gam...rule#Game_Rules
List of gamerules that would be added:
/gamerule enablePvp (True or false) Enables or disables PvP.
/gamerule enableFallDamage (True or false) Enables or disables fall damage.
/gamerule doMobSpawning (ID of mob*)(True or false) Enables or disables a particular mob to spawn. This gamerule already exists in vanilla Minecraft, but it doesn't have the individual mob selection.
/gamerule blockBreak (ID of block*) (True or false)Enables or disables that particular block to get mined, broken, griefed, etc.
/gamerule blockPlace (ID of block*) (True or false) Enables or disables that particular block to get placed.
/gamerule enableChat (True or false) Enables or disables chat.
/gamerule playerDamage (True or false) Enables or disables ALL damage that players can take.
/gamerule doIceMelt (True or false) Enables or disables ice melting. (Suggested by scorpionius)
/gamerule doLeafDecay (True or false) Enables or disables leaf decay.
/gamerule plantGrowth (True or false) Enables or disables all plant growth. (Suggested by Xannot)
/gamerule tntGriefing (True or false) Enables or disables block damage from ender crystals, TNT, bed bombs, and other explosions not mob-created. (Suggested by SiennaReborn21)
/gamerule doItemDurability (True or false) Enables or disables durability on tools, weapons, and armor. (Suggested by lovemooshroom1)
/gamerule itemBan (ID of item*) (True or false) Bans the ID of the item from the game. You can't use it, craft it, or have it in your inventory.
/gamerule enableDimensions (End/Nether) (True or false) Enables or disables the Nether/End.
/gamerule chatCharacterLimit (Character limit) Sets the chat character limit. (Would be very helpful for servers and spam) (Suggested by EmeraldsInCactus)
/gamerule doCritical (True or false) Enables or disables critical hits (Hits that deal more damage) (Suggested by EmeraldsInCactus)
/gamerule gamemode (survival/creative/adventure/spectator)(True or false) (Suggested by
Please tell me if the names should change, any gamerule ideas you may have, and support if you like If you do support, please hit the reputation button, that's the easiest way to know.
NOTE: On the gamerules with the "*" you can use "all" or "none"

Jeffrey6978 posted a message on Minecraft Beta Customized Terrain Generator Preset "Neo-Beta" (Glacier seed comparison pictures inside.)Because of the amount of people who like the Minecraft Beta terrain generator, I felt this deserved it's own thread, so that people could see that this is indeed possible.Posted in: Customised Worlds
I've made a preset that is close to the Beta generator, it has full height variation across all biomes, and many of the landmarks look similar to the Beta landmarks in the seeds I've tested.
There are some differences, but that could have something to do with the addition of all the new stuff since Beta, making the random generator give out somewhat different numbers than it used to.
I call my new preset the Neo-Beta preset.
I've also made a second preset that I call the Super-Beta preset, which is the Neo-Beta preset, with much higher mountains that can extend to near the build height, a higher sea level, and 50% more underground space than Neo-Beta.
It can get kind of laggy, I recommend increasing the amount of ram that you run Minecraft with for the best results.
Here are the presets for you to use:

I've compared the code in ChunkProviderGenerate.java from Beta 1.7.3 to the code in azd.class from 14w18b.
The following terrain settings had the exact same values in both Beta 1.7.3 and 14w18b:
coordinateScale: 684.412
heightScale: 684.412
lowerLimitScale: 512.000
upperLimitScale: 512.000
depthNoiseScaleX: 200.000
depthNoiseScaleZ: 200.000
depthNoiseScaleExponent: 0.5
mainNoiseScaleX: 80.0
mainNoiseScaleY: 160.0
mainNoiseScaleZ: 80.0
baseSize: 8.5
stretchY: 12.0
seaLevel was 64 in Beta 1.7.3 instead of 63.
biomeDepthWeight, and biomeScaleWeight both need to be set to 0.0, in order to get full height variation across all biomes back.
The two settings I couldn't find the value for in Beta 1.7.3 were biomeDepthOffset, and biomeScaleOffset.
I checked the code for ChunkProviderGenerate.java in Minecraft 1.6, and those two settings affect minHeight and maxHeight.
If you've already set biomeDepthWeight and biomeScaleWeight to 0.0, then they seem to affect the height universally across all biomes.
The Beta 1.7.3 code seemed to use a lot of math to determine the minimum and maximum height, and I couldn't quite figure out what numbers I should input there.
So, I've played around with both biomeDepthOffset and biomeScaleOffset, until I got things looking as close to Beta as I could.
If you want to play around with it some more, biomeDepthOffset is minHeight, and biomeScaleOffset is maxHeight.
I've set biomeSize to 2, as I felt that setting was closest to Beta's small biomes.

A really nice floating island I found, I wouldn't mind setting up a base here.
Creeper Island!
For some reason this picture reminds me of a Goa'uld mothership from Stargate SG-1 landing.
At the bottom of a deep sea (Y: 66), staring up at the surface (at Y: 96).
The deepest sea I've seen with this preset reached a depth of Y: 59, but seas that deep are rare.
Standing in a savanna at sea level (Y: 96 in this preset), looking up at the mountains.
Standing at the top of a "Deep Ocean" mountain range, at Y: 241, near max height.
The tallest mountain I've seen with this preset reached a height of 251.
Even in Super-Beta, there are nice flat areas for you to build on, if you look hard enough.
Very high mountain top plateau at around Y: 220.
A "Mushroom Island", seems more like a mushroom mountain if you ask me.
I hope you like my presets!

I love that you're doing this, but unfortunately there's no way to fix it. Alpha 1.1.2_01 was VERY early testing and it didn't work properly. That being said, you could upgrade to Alpha 1.2.6, which works a lot better.

I have to put some text

A few days ago, I decided to make my own game that resembles Alpha.
Currently there's three save slots and the worlds are random. Here's a screenshot:
PM me if you want to beta test this and just comment if you want to give me some ideas.
As you can see, there's no name in the menu. I need an idea for the name. If you have a good idea for one tell me.

Yes, many were happy, but a majority wanted different combat. Real combat is slow and tedious, do you think that real soldiers would just slash knives as fast as they can without thinking about it?
Anyway, I enjoy it. I can actually kill someone for once.

I would actually really like this.

Your gamerule would be gamebreaking. Spamclick + fancy arrows + shields + variety of other combat related stuff = Even more unbalanced MC than before 1.9.

I bought it legitimately first. Then I discovered cracked to mess around with my friend by cracking his server without him noticing and logging in on his account. He nearly wet his pants when he had changed his password for the third time to no avail.

I decided to create another suggestion that is image based. This one isn't that great, but bear with me.
