posted a message on Getting elytras to maintain speed when the player is teleported

Summon an invisible mob, such as silver fish, at constant intervals beneath anyone flying, or who has air beneath them. The mob will "push" players upwards, as collision was re-added in 1.9. It may take tweaking to get perfect.

Your method didn't produce desired results because teleporting essentially resets momentum.

posted a message on [1.8.7] ANVIL-MC | VANILLA MINIGAMES | Kit-PvP, Sabotage, Build-It, Spleef, Parkour... | No mods or plugins, all vanilla!

Hello everyone, I'm using my main account for this. If you don't know this is fredo. I'm not using the ANVILMC forums account for this because this is not a professional post.

I personally don't want ANVIL to be revived. It has its legacy, the former ANVIL staff were not organized the way we should have been to take it any further, but I'm at the moment satisfied with what we did. While I could argue right now the underlaying issue of that, it's not the point. Because I'm not under the staff banner, I will say this. I didn't like you as a player, and that's lightly putting it. You have said some things that were very offensive to me on a personal level that I can't forgive, and in the interests of being polite, I will not go into them here. I also don't think you're fit to run the server for the following reasons: you're young, you have a history of letting your emotions control your reactions, and I don't think you completely fathom how difficult a task it would be to maintain the redstone.

When I said I it was okay to revive ANVIL, I meant it. At this point I don't care. But I'm not giving my blessing; it's not an easy job. If you are right now angry at my response, take that as a sign to believe what I've said. If you make something great out of ANVIL then I congratulate you. But it's probably not worth your time. If you want to have a minigames server my advice is to start from scratch. ANVIL is dead and too hard to maintain right now.

There is only one group I'm willing to support in an ANVIL revival, but they haven't gotten back to my (admittedly late) reply. They're the only ones I'm going to explicitly endorse at this time.

posted a message on setting up a commandblock to set a player who isn't on a scoreboard to 0
    Quote from Skylinerw»

Resetting does not set their score to 0. It will remove them from the scoreboard completely.

The easiest way to force a player onto the scoreboard is to "add 0" to their current score, which will cause them to be tracked with a default score of 0 and will not affect their current score if it's not 0:

    /scoreboard players add @a Players 0

The only qualm I can think of with this method is it would require that command to be constantly used which isn't a very tidy way of doing things, but other than that is probably the most efficient method.

    Quote from Zepherstorm

Hey. First off, i'd like to say the map looks great. second of all, I may have found a few bugs. The first bug is an enemy ship glitch. It will say prepare for combat and an enemy ship is firing off the port side. Then, before I even get to the weapons room, it say enemy ship is defeated and gives me the loot. I don't know if anyone else has encountered this but it made the map unenjoyable. Secondly, there is a hole in the floor in the engine room that is easy to fall through. Just wanted to let you know. hope it gets fixed soon so I can get the full experience. :)

Hello Zepherstorm, first of all thank you for the input. I would like to preface by mentioning that the map you find here in this thread has been discontinued for almost a year now, and is no longer receiving updates. That being said, a new MTC might be in the works with completely updated redstone and mechanics, under a new name. This new map will be linked through the thread upon completion, so you can follow the thread if you want to be informed when it comes out!

    Regards, fred

Could we have a bit more info on the selection process of these servers? I know many people have been on about this, and it might clear up some confusion. Namely,

    - Do bigger servers have a better chance? Smaller servers?

    - As far as small servers go, what are your terms for "unique"?

    - Would you take in submissions for servers, or search them out yourself?

Servers? Definitely. As the admin of a unique vanilla server, I think that it would be absolutely splendid if servers were given a spot at the trophy table. Not only would it increase the player base (which, to be honest, has been suffering recently) but also bumps up popularity, which a bunch of smaller servers would appreciate tremendously.

As a further note, I don't think it is fair to exclude servers from the spotlight considering many admins put as much work into their servers as others might put into their animations, mini-games, or mods.

I think, though, the you get into shaky ground when you know some people are in the server business for profit, especially bigger servers, but smaller servers hardly ever are in it for the profit, as most of them require pocket money from those running it to stay awake. I mention this as those servers in it to win it might just be looking for more money as opposed to a more, shall we say, noble cause.

But that is just my two cents.

No one is able to connect through the external IP (including myself), and the only way I can connect is through localhost. I am 99% certain that my port is open, as people have been able to connect to the server in past versions (other 1.7 snapshots included).

    Hello, lovely server hosting companies!

Today I have a requirement of your services. I need a server with two gigabytes of ram, cheap as possible. Prefered hosting location is New York City, or somewhere close to the northern border of Pennsylvania.

Thank you, and have a great day!

If you search on youtube for 'hifolksimadam' he has a video about the frozen entities. I'm not going to tell too much, as cubemagnet said: "A magician never reveals his secrets..."
Maybe I'll make a video about how I did everything. But I said that with the first Code too and that still hasn't happened either.

I'll have to make an appointment to visit youtube sometime, then. Thanks for the response!
