I wish to be at candied island.

You're now stranded on a desert island in the middle of nowhere that nobody's heard of before. I name this unsettled island "Candied Island."

I wish that the law didn't apply to me, as in I could do whatever I want without getting in trouble, but it would still apply to me in the sense that I would still have the protection the law provides. And that nobody would be asking me to do illegal things for them any more than had I not made this wish.

posted a message on Make slabs more convenient by switching the recipe with the one for pressure plates

This is actually really good. Slabs could finally be crafted easily, and they could follow the order of the power of 2! What I wanted! Slabs need to be in some kind of 64, which is great.

    I support!

Good point about the powers of two.

Minecraft is not a game about algebra. Bet you didn't know that.

I know I'm late, but are you sure about that?

I think it would make much more sense for slabs to only require two blocks instead of three to craft, and then only give four instead of six. Then the pressure plates could require three. This would make sense IMO for several reasons:

    1. Slabs are much more versatile than pressure plates. I imagine they are crafted much more frequently. Keep in mind that slabs would still require exactly the same amount of material, as it would still be two slabs per full block. It would just be a more convenient and less wasteful recipe.
    2. It would make sense for pressure plates to be more expensive than slabs. Think about it—pressure plates need a mechanism to stay up, go down when stepped on, and then go back up. It would be easily justifiable for them to suddenly require an extra block to craft.
    3. Slabs won't require a crafting table to craft. Again, pressure plates are more complex than slabs, so if one of them requires a crafting table, it should be the pressure plates. Think about how much more convenient it would be when building something to not need to run to a crafting table to make more slabs.

This is actually really good. Slabs could finally be crafted easily, and they could follow the order of the power of 2! What I wanted! Slabs need to be in some kind of 64, which is great.

    I support!

It's cool in the Nether, as well.

I would have to disagree, what with all the lava and fire everywhere. Probably not very cool there!

posted a message on Colored Glass and Colored Light! (originally Just the 'Colored Glass!' topic but Mojang added our idea! :D Congrats everyone!)
    Quote from CptSpaceToaster

They are treating it JUST like colored glass. They know that everyone wants it. They know that if they would release colored light, then everyone would be happy.

They can't release it yet, because there are a couple of bugs that they can't solve/fix at the moment. Once they smooth out some of the light loading issues, then they'll go ahead and release. It's not like they pleasure in delaying content to people that want it. It's obvious that several thousands of people actually want this, so Mojang will move to create it. It's just that they can't release it very quickly, and they'll get around to it when they can.

Last I knew, they were struggling with the light loading issues, where large segments of the nether and world weren't lit properly on their initial load. When chunks are first created, (and loaded from a save) lights don't update properly, creating large black sections that you might see. This problem would get much worse (kinda) if they released colored lighting, as there are still bugs behind the scenes. It's always a good idea to hold off on new content, until the bugs behind the scenes are fixed.

Are you saying you know for a fact they plan on adding it? If so, I'd be interested in seeing your source.

posted a message on Paying for Minecraft seeds?
    Quote from F1NinjaCreeper

It just stuns me that people want to use money to buy a book containing Minecraft seeds when you could just type, "Minecraft seeds" in Google and get tons and tons of different seeds. For free. Also, seed lists on internet are updated with new seeds, but the books are not.
Well, some people just like using the more expensive method.

And the thing is, it's not like they're at a book store and they see it there. It's only for sale on Amazon, which means someone has to start looking there instead of on Google. Though I guess there's the related items list, which is where I first saw it.

If you go to the cave at X/Z:-1060,489 and turn left at the intersection, there's a chasm that goes all the way down to Y=18. (If you see a water spring before the path splits, you're in the wrong cave.)

I don't know how many other people have seen this, but there's all these people trying to sell "books" that are basically just lists of Minecraft seeds. Now I would understand if it was a strategy guide-type thing where it gave you specific strategies regarding certain areas of the world, with maps, etc. (that would actually be pretty cool) but according to the reviews and page counts it's basically like all those blog posts all over the Web that basically just list favorite seeds. And they're charging $2.99 or so. :o

Today was the first time I explored any caves for real in 1.7. I found two different cave entrances. Both of them were about ...big enough that exploring them is a fun adventure, but not too big that it's overwhelming. And they weren't connected either. :-)

Nothing on this site makes any sense, and there's no rhyme or reason to how the pages are linked. And that's what makes it awesome. Anyone else seen this site?
