So just editiing the text will change the setting?
Just find the the correct setting, OP has info on that, then find for example: snowUnlimitedBuild=0 and change it to either =1 or =0 to your liking.
Refer to the config file guide from then on, most are true=1 false=0, but some are values like maxSnowDepth=5 would mean that snowblockstacks would stop growing at 5
I copied the class files into minecraft.jar, and it had absolutely no affect on the game whatsoever. Plus, there is no config file with the mod, so i'd also like to know where that is. Yes I have modloader, and I also have TNT mod if that matters.
Almost all modloader mods have a config file in the /minecraft/Config/ area, if it is not there you might wanna first rerun the modern winter modded minecraft or reinstall.
External mods would go in the mod folder, internal mods would normally be opened and have their class files dropped into the jar. For mods that go in the mod folder, put them in the mod folder like normal and the launcher will recognize that they're there and populate the external mods list with them. For mods that would NORMALLY go in the jar, click the "Add" button next to the Mods list and select them manually to be added to that list. Don't add them to the jar when you're using this launcher. That's kind of a big point of this launcher, making it so you don't have to do that haha.
Thanks, wasnt really clear how it worked, though I assumed it would be what you said.
Ya, its what I suspected once it started spiking, I have a habit of maxing all settings(far view fancy graphics etc) so the additional generation must have been too much.
Just glad I wasnt using 128 texture packs, glsl shaders and other aesthetic mods.
Would have been fun to see the lag spike of death though :laugh.gif:
Hmm, I'll definitely have to look into that. The only thing different between 1.1 and 1.1b in that respect would be the swamp generation so there should be no detectable speed difference if you're not near a swamp. In the swamp I did increase the total default big tree percentage in the swamp from 20% to 60% and the hat trees alter more blocks than any other tree type when generating.
From what you say it seems having to generate that much trees of such size takes alot of minecrafts resources, after trying different stuff it seems to be 1.1b having some issues generating.
I tried with no mods except modloader and 1.1b bigtrees and had spikes on generating forest, same when optifine was added, also set down graphics to see if that helped. Of course it might just be my computer so here is my specs in case of that being the reason.
Intel Core i7 860 2.8 GHz
Nvidia GTX 260 4GB (going to upgrade as soon as possible)
16 GB RAM
Worse lag than 1.1? During chunk generation only or otherwise as well? I get lag spikes during generation with all versions of this mod, but after the chunks are generated it runs just fine.
Yes, the big trees can only spawn from the normal trees locations. I did that to minimize mod conflicts.
Why did I not try the alternate version? *Hits head on... air. What do you mean by 'misplaced'? Floating?
I did have occasional lag in 1.1 when generating alot of chunks, but now it is alot worse.
I use spc and used the setspeed 5 command and flew, on 1.1 I had occasional hickup, but with 1.1b even walking without setspeed causes lag :S
You can only set how many solid blocks, not how high the snowlayers go, as in never reaching more than 3 times the normal snow height. I think that is what he meant at least.
I seem to be getting massive lag spikes with 1.1b.
Also, about the extra biomes question, as I experienced the big trees only generated in the biomes where the completely normal trees generated. If this is because how I installed/other mods I do not know, was simply what I observed concerning it.
Just thought of something that might be an idea for a new feature.
Have snow spread like water/lava, so that if you have a solid snow block and get falling snow on top, it will "fall" to one of the lowest sides instead to simulate how snow piles up.
That way the odd borders from a covered and uncovered areas blend better

I meant that there is no recipe on the OP so I can't tell what the recipe is unless I use a recipe mod ....

And how would you go about actually getting worms on rod?

Why didn't you just look at the post above you?
Some people just need to look closer.

In 1.1 big trees you would get the big trees only in the standard biomes and not the other ones.
