Help im 300 chuncks away this time and now my minecraft froze

To prove that squids are evil i was trying to join my friends server but in the crash report it said the reason it crashed was a squid spawned

Um i dont know if this is a glitch or not but when i use the hookshot from a distance then start to run i eather launch up in to the sky or i launch 30 chuncks away and the hook shot bullet vanishes and are we supost to get the bullet back!!!
