i usually just dig one block deep holes and pour the source blocks in there and just expand it as i get more lava. I try not to make the pool deeper just because it's easier to accidentally place source blocks within each other and end up losing a source block.

Ok so I've done everything I should to install mods. Modloader is installed properly (which means yes META-INF has been deleted) and I've successfully installed the pheonix terrain mod.

The problem I'm having is when I try to install the cubic chunks mod. Whenever I install it I open up minecraft and either select a current world or make a new one and in both cases the screen shows the dirt background of the loading screen but doesn't actually show the loading bar or anything. Then after a minute of nothing it goes black. It generates an error log which looks like this:

Does anyone know what the hell is happening? I've done at least 3 complete resets of the bin file by itself and the entire game at least once and every single time it's the same friggin error. oh and this is all on the .exe client not on the browser client.

could you set it on peaceful to stop them from attacking?

how do you know i failed, exactly? these are the steps for installing modloader and a mod as i understand them and this is what i did:

- open the minecraft.jar file in 7z or winrar
- open the .rar file of modloader
- select all the files in the modloader .rar file
- copy/drag the files from the modloader .rar into the minecraft.jar
- delete the META-INF folder
- close minecraft.jar

to install a mod:

follow steps above (except the META-INF step).

i DID follow a youtube tutorial and this is EXACTLY what i did so unless you can help you're just being lazy and assuming i installed the mod wrong.

if this isn't the right place to ask please direct me where i can get some help.

I tried asking the people in #risucraft and they said this means a file is missing but they can't tell me what or how to fix it. anyone else getting this problem?

oh and before you ask yes i deleted the META-INF folder and no i'm not running this in my browser.

I'm just getting into looking to install mods but the wiki tells me there are at least three mod loader options: ModLoader, Minecraft Forge, and MyCraft Mod Manager. Which should I go with? Is there any risk of incompatibility between mod and mod loader?
