Keep in mind that Microsoft isn't EA. EA is the one that orders developers to cut features in favor of DLC, enforces a strict time limit, and sometimes even orders developers to completely trash an alpha just so that they can rebuild it to have an E rating so that they could rake in extra cash from kids. (A.K.A what happened to spore). They do whatever they want, because their fanbase always comes back and buys another game, even though they anger and betray them every release.
Microsoft already knows that they can't get away with betraying their fanbase, as seen with the colossal marketing failure of Windows 8/8.1. They aren't going to purposely remove features from non Microsoft platforms. If they did, the response from players would be catastrophic. Minecrafts fanbase isn't a pushover, people would simply stop playing the game. Thus there would be reduced recommendations to friends, and way less sales.
Also, the game is still being developed by the Mojangsta's. Just because Mojang is owned by another company doesn't mean that all future games or updates will suddenly become horrible. EA is pretty much the only company that has the power to do that (and not lose massive amounts of money afterwards)

No, I'm just kidding. This update is freaking amazing.
Imagine, flags, rings for Sonic adventure maps, spaceships, using railroads makes moving sprites possible, Spock, plasma ball (glass ball, red and blue and purple wool for the lightning, lightning constantly flickers everywhere. Plus, plasma balls are amazing.), and so much more.
I know it's probably an accidental feature created by a small detail, but it's amazing nevertheless. Sad it had to wait a few bland updates. - To post a comment, please login.

Anyways, good work on this mod. I really like how you can pick and choose what to put in your computer, instead of in Computercraft where you just need a monitor and a disk drive.

It was on Auto, I changed it to Nvidia and it didn't seem to do much after applying and starting Minecraft. I've lowered the settings with Optifine, ran the game with Magic Launcher to make sure 2GB of ram was being used, set the priority as high, made sure the affinity was on all cores, and it's still almost completely 0 FPS. The game stops responding every 1 or 2 seconds on menus ingame, and takes a while to just close the game.
It was worth a try, anyways. I'll definitely give this another go when I have a better PC, thanks for the support.

I'm not very wealthy, and I can't afford a new gaming laptop, as the brands I've seen that offer "gaming" laptops always have graphics cards and processors from several years ago and are over $5000 if I want something that isn't a joke. This Alienware is a 2010 model, and back then it was $1500 (I got it for 350 used, mint condition) For something that expensive back then, I'm surprised that its most powerful graphics card option was a medium-low range.
I apologize for ranting like an idiot, I didn't know my computer was that ill equipped and I thought it was pretty powerful, as I never had any problems with mainstream/indie games on medium to maximum settings. I read the description, and I thought that my graphics card was powerful from the experience I've had with it. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Windows 7 home edition
Nvidia GTX260m
Intel i5 @ 2.53GHz, 4 cores (not overclocked, I don't have a magic wallet to buy a new processor if it gets fried)
Alienware M15x
6GB ram
I'm really angry at this. This is a fresh install, I only have Optifine and the latest Standard of this mod, I think Minecraft is using 2gb's of ram (I can't open F3, because the game is so damn laggy) Like I said, this thing that I'm using conquers pretty much any game, and I don't have a money tree to buy some new 1500$ custom built gaming rig. Running it, the CPU usage is only at 40% and fluctuating to a low of 31%, memory is at 3.46 GB's, and my mouse movements get registered in about ten seconds yet key presses hardly ever register. Is this even optimized for something other than a super computer stolen from NASA?

Second of all, is there any way to turn off the light level despawn for vanilla animals? I've noticed villagers and some trapped vanilla animals disappearing from my town I'm building (on peaceful difficulty, hazard free area and animal despawn toggled off in the config)

Luckily enough, mods are expanding in size. I can go on the moon, do magic, create custom tools and morph into a fallen foe. All with wonderful and unique features Notch himself would be proud of.
So for me, mods are the true features that keep me playing.

A lot of mods are hosted on Mediafire. Mediafire's giving me, and probably a lot of other users, malware infested popunders (popups that are behind the browser to stay undetected) that even bypass adblockers I've used to protect my computer.
Anyways, I've found an alternative. It's hidden under the tab in the top right corner of the google webpage, and you probably guessed that it was for driving directions or something.
I myself was curious about that, and it's literally just a free up to 10GB file hoster hosted by Google for free callled Google Drive. You can choose to make the file link only, therefore you could use adfly (if you use that to fund your modding.)
I'm dead serious, there was literally a free file hoster by Google the entire time Mediafire was demanding people money.
I don't know how much traffic it can hold as I'm not a modder, but I'm guessing that since it's Google it's probably sturdy. I've hosted a private modpack of 1GB in mods for my friend, the speed was decent and I didn't have any problems.
I thought I'd just bring this up as an alternative to mediafire. What do you guys think?

Armour Casts in NEI and Exo Suit seems to be a custom armour placeholder. I can't wait until I can wear my custom armour, I hope I'll be able to do things like change the material of certain parts of the armour.

The taming wand only has 3 durability, and taming a mob would take one durability. Perhaps there could be different tiers of taming wands that have more durability but are a lot more expensive than the former.
You can ride tamed spiders/cave spiders
You can command another one of your tamed pet mobs to ride your tamed spider.. Zombie jockey, anyone?
You can command your tamed mobs to attack, follow you, move to a selected spot, or just stand there.
You can give humanoid mobs, for example endermen and skeletons, equipment such as armor and weapons by shift right clicking them while holding the desired equipment
For the mobs that have negative side effects in the day, gold helmets and diamond helmets protect them. For example, endermen won't teleport like crazy and zombies and skeletons wont burn.
As for how the commands will work, you will need to create another relatively expensive wand called something like Command Wand. Kind of like the power tool ability selection from Modular Power suits, you would hold shift and scroll the mouse wheel to scroll through the various commands. You could right click, for the sake of example, your pet zombie with the command wand to select your zombie. You would hold shift and scroll the mouse wheel, and again for the sake of example, to select the "Ride" command and right click your tamed spider. It would work similar to this for other commands.
As a second thought, the mod would cover all mobs in general. Imagine, a pig army. And perhaps you would need a special wand to tame enemy mobs and such. There are quite a few possibilities with this.
This idea would probably be a relatively small mod, therefore easier to update.
These are all idea's I'm just throwing out, feel free to change everything and anything you see here. I don't want any credit, if there is even the slightest chance of somebody wanting to make this happen.

It would make MineCraft feel a bit more alive, perhaps making it feel like you actually killed a man/woman/child and it could make people on SMP servers think twice before massacring an entire village for no reason.
Edit: This is completely irrelevant to my post above, but I had to quote this
Oh lord, my sides. Divorce would be a lot easier if you could do this in real life.
