Enderman farm, create a beacon and surround it with iron or diamond or gold blocks to get the powers. Basically anything you want. Automated storage room, automated everything, iron golem farm, giant quarry (like the ones in real life, not the square ones. Look up quarry and look at the first image)
That's perfect. Now it'll look really nice with the branched off rooms Oh, and more color variations is a good idea, ie stained clay would look nice. Maybe a different slab for the ones surrounding the fountain.

Cannot break any blocks placed by you. Including water, signs, lava, anything that can be placed cannot be broken if you placed them. Naturally generated blocks can be broken, however. Sorry for the confusion!
Hey guys! Today, I have my first ever Minecraft Challenge!
This challenge is relatively simple: Don't break any placed blocks. Ever. Beds, torches, dirt, stone, wood, etc. Any block that can be place cannot be broken. Oh, and you must play on hardcore. The only things that can be planted are crops such as wheat, carrots, potatoes, cocoa beans, watermelons, and pumpkins but not saplings or anything like that. Those are the only rules. Pretty simple, right? Well, here's a list of things you can do to get points:
1. Obtain 3 stacks of raw wood - 5 points
2. Obtain 1 stack of any crop seed (potatoes, carrots, seeds, cocoa bean, watermelon, pumpkin) - 5 points
3. Build a house with a bed, furnace, crafting bench, and chest - 10 points
4. Create farms for every crop (potatoes, carrots, wheat, cocoa bean, watermelon, pumpkin) - 15 points
5. Gather 10 diamonds - 20 points
6. Create a full set of diamond tools - 25 points
7. Gather 40 obsidian - 25 points
8. Travel to the Nether - 30 points
9. Obtain 10 blaze rods - 35 points
10. Obtain 6 ender pearls - 25 points
11. Create eyes of ender and find stronghold - 30 points
12. Defeat ender dragon - 50 points
The list is not yet complete, but will be updated regularly with ideas from you and anything that I can think of!

If breaking a block doesn't help, you can try these:
1: F3+A to reload all chunks.
2: Close and restart the game.
3: Delete the chunks with MCEdit and let them regenerate.
4: Make a duplicate world with the same seed; and copy the chunks from one world into the other (go there in-world in the copy to let the chunks generate. Then use MCEdit to export the chunks to a .schematic file, and then import them into the other world.)
Just reloaded the game and it seems to have fixed itself. Thanks for all the help everyone!
Hey guys, so I just recently started a new SSP world and was finally getting going inside my ravine home. I went exploring in the desert next to my base and came across this. Is there any way to fix it without losing everything or do I just have to deal with it?
You say you like Etho's design, but are you talking about his single player? Or his Crackpack? Because Etho's crackpack underground base is huge, and lots of industrial tunnels like a maze, linking just about everywhere on his teamate's side.
I actually love building underground. Reason being, there's infinite expansion whereas aboveground there isn't as much freedom. Also, you can easily make it mob free. What Y level are you building it on? I prefer not too close to bedrock, but not too close to the surface, so Y-30 - 35 usually works for me.
I prefer bases inside mountains or caves. Usually mountains though. I start off by finding the ideal mountain, making sure it's near a few different biomes and a village, gather some resources and such, then start hollowing out the mountain. I don't really like above ground bases because I think it is much easier to live in a mountain because of practically infinite expansion and easy protection from mobs.
I had some problems with my world crashing. It seems to be fixed now, thankfully. I was in the middle of building a golem farm that due to a misunderstanding of the youtube instructions, I built 80 blocks in the air. Kinda awkward building up there in survival mode! Anyways, it is almost complete. I just need to do the feed tube and somehow get my poor lonely villager up there. Anyone have any ideas on how to do that?

That spinning red thing is a teleporter from the TF2 Teleporter mod. The block under me is a Danmaku Crafting Table from the Touhou Items Mod. Those things at the window on the right are from the Tinker's Construct mod.

The attic! I might make this an enchanting room later, but right now it has nothing in it.
I would recommend extending the roof 1 block longer so it hangs over your doors by 1 or 2 blocks. Otherwise, looks good so far!
