posted a message on Double clicking
I used to have the same problem. The most common responses (new mouse, clicking differently etc.) didn't work. I'm not an expert on this, but here's what I know:
Minecraft generates 'chunks'from the seed, and saves the differences you make to those chunks, whether it be removing or placing blocks. If the amount of changes in your viewing distance is high, it can start to lag the game when you try and edit it. The game thinks you clicked again in the lag, and places another block to compensate. Here's a couple of possible solutions:
    1. Save and quit and go right back into the game. Not sure why, but this sometimes worked for me.
    2. If you're rich, get a better computer (lol)
    3. Check how much RAM you're allowing Javascript to use. The default setting is often too low, and the game has to redirect to the harddrive, causing the problematic editing lag.
That 3rd one is what worked with me. Lemme know what happens.
    Peace \../_<(:sleep.gif:)>_\../
