What use would it be to make tipped pickaxes, hoes, and shovels. I understand the the axe but not the other tools.

Because zombies spawn with pickaxes & shovels.

This would also allow you to have different effects for pvp situations instead of carrying a whole set of swords.

posted a message on New Enchantment Ideas?

Quick draw is the only new idea i have heard for a while.

The other 2 i have seen in multiple suggestions & are allready used in some mods.

While quick draw sounds somewhat interesting, it conflicts with the current max lvl enchants.

If you wan't a sword as powerfull as possible, you skip looting for fire aspect & focuse on either smite or sharpness.

Since you didn't mention any levels for quick draw,

it would (imo) take the place of knockback, since that does not any damage to mobs & is mostly useful for pvp.

Regarding pvp ther is a BIG problem with this enchant.

Let's say you have a fraction server with pvp enabled.

You decide to base with a player of your fraction.

You start to place blocks, but as soon as you came within range X to your allay,

the enchantment skips your selection to your sword.

    Would that not annoy you?

I have mixed feelings about mobs other than zombies and players using them.

    Why is that?

I do realize this would be controversial for pvp but weapon wielding mobs wouldn't be that much of a threat in general.

I have, for example never encountered a piglin brute wielding an enchanted golden axe.

Not saying they don't exist. A piglin brute with a stenght 2 axe would be a serious problem but then again it would be rare.

Do your mixed feelings include exitement by the chance?

    ;)

Also, the most dangerous mob in this case would be the wither skeleton.

Just imagine a wither skeleton wielding a poison lvl 2 sword.

Combined with it's withering effect, it would kill you in no time.

But honestly, i think that is fine.

Whither skeletons are easier to deal with then drowneds.

As long as you consume fire resistence potions, you should be able to deal with the skeletons,

which require at least 3 blocks high passages to reach you.

Fine. It could only be for swords and maybe axes too.

As well as pickaxes, hoes & shoveos. I wouldn't mind them beeing tipped.

Axes beeing tipped would also make illagers more dangerous but i think that is fine.

If you can't beat the raid, you just escape for the time beeing.

You should defenetly suggest this idea of yours in the minecraft reddit, where the majority of the community is active.

Mojang might read your suggestion there. They do not read through this forum tough.

But you should break up your idea in sections, don't post a wall of text of doom.

The easier it is to read, it is more likely to make people respond to your thread.

Honestly, i like it. This kind of danger would make vanilla nomads very happy.

Good tips but I disagree on the drowneds. I feel like the drowneds aren't strong enough. If they attack you can just quickly swim away from them and avoid tridents. But I defiantly agree on not being ably to enchant them.

We probably won't get to an agreement about trident wielding drowneds.

If you don't have full enchanted diamond armor, you better have a boat.

Iron armor isn't enough to deal with them becouse they drain your shield.

If drowneds got tipped tridents, the oceans would be endgame territory.

While i wouldn't mind redicoulus strong mobs (fan of rlcraft),

i am sure the community would rage about them on minecrafts reddit.

Agreed on iron sword. It is the very first thing I make once I find iron.

Also, it is not hard to make an iron farm reasonably early in a world. From that point on stone no longer makes sense, even if you don't mine for diamonds.

As a matter of fact, other than a diamond pickaxe early on, I don't bother with diamond tools until I can make decent enchanted ones and I have an XP farm to repair them on. Even a simple skelly farm will do for that purpose.

Well if you go for an iron farm early on, you don't even need to mine for diamonds at all,

since you allready got villagers, which sell basically everything relatet to combat.

I don't even go through the trouble of healing zombie villagers.

A boat, a piston & an activation device for the piston is all you need.

Take a bed with you & you won't face any trouble exept chickens, while abducting villagers.

Altough without having an ironfarm, using iron shovels is just a waste imo.

I go for diampnd shovels mostly, rarely stone shovels.

This is the one tool, you just don't need playing as a nomad like i do.

Well maybe TMC does, he will probably give his opinion about shovels.

I am more about exploring then cavemining. But i do enjoy cavemining from time to time.

posted a message on How to use redstone?

To be honest, you are better off watching youtube tutorials at this point.

Redstone is somewhat in between electricity & magic.

You can build easy or complicated machines ect using this stuff.

From fully automated sugarcane farms to flying machines...

Try to look up some beginner farms on youtube, where people explain why their machines work.

Mumbo Jumbo for example made some videos explaining all redstone related things you can craft.

A video is more helpful at the beginning then reading a written tutorial imo.

The redstone dust can also be used for brewing potions.

Interesting idea. If these weapons could not be enchanted i would support.

That could bring an interesting twist to minecraft. Imagine a zombie using a nausia weapon against you.

Or one trying to kill you with a healing weapon.

If these could be enchanted, it would be to op.

    Edit:

A few more points to adress.

Crafting 2 tipped weapons together should result in regular weapons without effect.

Tipped weapons could only be repaired using anvil.

That would be important since weapon weilding mobs should be able to spawn using them.

You could farm them but most of them where already damaged.

Also drowneds using tipped tridents would be way to op. I think the trident is better off not beeing tipable.

    Tool development !

Knock down a tree, make planks, make crafting table

make wood pick, dig to get stone (Hole can make a first night refuge as bonus), make stone sword, pick, and axe.

At this stage, only a few game hours in, you can defend yourself, and harvest wood and stone resources as you hunt for iron. I generally make a furnace now to get charcoal and thus torches and routes from here are many depending on world and local conditions.

NEVER underestimate the value of stone tools!! I even use them for most general mining even after I find iron and untill after I get enough of it for armor. A bit slower but available virtually everywhere, a huge help in early-game.

I disagree on the stonesword. Imo it's only good for mining cobwebs or for early mobgrinders.

I'm not taking pvp in account here. Iron is the first material i craft swords from.

Stone axe does way more dmg, especially when performing jumpcrits.

You can kill most animals with 1 strike using stone axe. Ironsword still needs 2 strikes.

Only the durability of ironsword makes it worth crafting imo.

Fair enough. But you said that the End is supposed to be a barren place like the Nether but there are weeping vines, twisting vines, warped fungus, crimson fungus, warped roots, crimson roots, the crimson forest, and the warped forest. So the Nether isn't that barren. Right?

And sorry about all the writing.

I agree on the nether not beeing barren.

Since 1.16 we can actually start in the nether & never leave it.

The end is just empty. It lacks everything but a bossfight.

Nowdays even unfinished modifications like "the midnight" look more finnished then the end.

Mojang has to make an end update soon.

I expect them to start 1.20 but i'm not so optimistic tbh.

I do object the mob that picks you up & throws you off into the void.

Something that dangerous should not exist.

I mean the ender dragon does but you only have to defeat it once.

Also i share ArtOne's opinion about the end villagers.

Let me take this serious, just a little bit...

If you enter minecraft without any knowledge about it, like i did, you are faced with hostile mobs.

    And creepers.

Imo babyzombies, skeletons & drowneds take the place of dangerous mobs, while the creeper is the griefer.

That's what i have learned from my first minecraft nights.

Leads can be crafted using strings & slimeballs.

The easyest way to get some slimeballs is to patrol swamps during nights.

When there is a full moon, your chances to encounter slimes are at peak.

You can also steal leads from wandering traders. Just kill them or their lamas.

Yeah but you said they hype them up with mobvotes. That means other people are exited for these new mobs. And anyways, it shouldn't be Mojang's priority it should be the Minecraft players priority.

It's like a reverse pokemon marketing. Instead of adding 1000 weird creatures, we get just a few flashed out.

Quality over quantity. That's the good part about it. Mobvotes are not good imo.

From my perspective they try to address young children giving the option to vote for new mobs,

while countless good suggestions are being rejected.

New animals became the maskots of updates.

Progression in this aspect will stay slow as these are the low hanging fruits youtubers get exited about.

The only reason they added a drop to the warden was to give youtubers the opportunity to presen't new farms.

    It is a shame, realy.

Exactly. And the only thing cats do is make the creepers go away yet there are like 10 or 13 different types. I think there called tabby, tuxedo, red, siamese, British shorthair, calico, Persian, ragdoll, white, and black. So no one tell me that Mojang isn't interested in adding lot's of animals variations.

We are "lucky" when we get 1 animal (+ variations) every second update.

There stiĺl aren't any savanna exclusive animals & mojang refuses to add a lot of animals which would be hostile to players.

    Like lions, sharks ect.

So yeah, adding animals isn't the priority for mojang. Instead they hype them up like crazy using mobvotes, canceling other mobs/animals they came up with.

Imo mojang should have added a lot of animals by now becouse of atmosphere.

But others downvote on this claiming there needs to be a drop or purpose to new mobs.
