    The patcher overwrites the config file in /mods, so your "up" preferences have been reset. Change it back to north to have up point north

    LOL. I suck at testing.

    Maybe you should join the QA team over at Bethesda Softworks. I hear they need inept testers like yourself. :SSSS:

    Also, Ive noticed that the map seems to be rotated, so that what looks like west on the map is actually north in the world. This was around before 1.2, so I was just curious if there is some reason for that?

    Some people just don't understand what "Alpha" means in game making terms. You are playing a game that is in its infancy. It has problems, lots of them. Would you prefer Notch not release anything till the game is done several years from now? Be happy you can even play the game.

    So that carts can trigger wooden or stone plates. You can do a lot of complex things with those, I personally use it to create a runaway minecart retrieval system. Basically, if a minecart runs away down the track, and reaches the end, and triggers a wooden plate, but not the stone one (cause no one is inside), I branch it to a separate track where it gets bounced back to me.

    Nice... now all I need is a mod to make empty mine carts and storage carts to drift like they do when the player is in them and I will be set for life.

    I don't want auto carts, I just simply want the other minecarts to drift just as they would if the player was in them. Autocart just seems purely cheating to me and eliminates the fun of boosters. I'm just looking to actually make use of storage carts without having to have a booster every 10 blocks. If nothing like that exists, then I will deal without it.

    Hey guys, I just had a quick question.

    Has anyone created a mod that makes all minecarts drift like they do when the player is in them? It would be really nice to make use of storage carts, but id they don't drift worth beans, then its rather pointless.

    I need to tidy my thing up a bit. Forgive me but its going to be a ~23MB file

    Edit: Ok, here it is.

    Some things to note. You will start out outside my main building. Check out the grounds before heading up into my fortress or going on the cart track. It is also advised yo go to the fort first before the cart.

    To get the cart started, just simply bump up against the back end of it to get it going, then hop in. If you miss the cart, the boosters take it prty far so keep that in mind.

    When traveling down the track, you will see my giant compass and tower on the right. The giant compass is for direction when rendering my map via cartograph. You can stop if you want to check out the tower, but trust me when i say there is nothing in there except a lot of stairs and an unimpressive view. The structure by the tracks at the tower was my WIP station so i could stop there but I am canceling that.

    In the mine, I have a system for easy direction. Each T junction has obviously 2 paths, left or right, which I have numbered 1 is right, 2 is left. It is overall unimpressive, but if you want to get to the deepest part of my mine, head down 1-2-1. To get out, just head to a junction and face away from the flowers.

    To make the return trip out of the mine, just push the cart to get it started and hop in. The boosters will take care of the rest.
