Well :wink.gif:.. i downloaded it like 3 hours ago :wink.gif:.. and after having to restart like 10 times i finally made a huge island :wink.gif:.. and.. my question is.. where do i get coal?..
I really do love this amazing challenge. I've got a slow start though, I've built a prototype generator (which is mainly dirt and wood and it's really not good. I got a bit of cobble out of it but then it went haywire and part of it caught fire, and I had to take out the lava. I'm going to replace it with the cobble I've got, then put the lava back in. I've also got really lucky and grown two big trees, and I have never appreciated big trees before.
Amazingly fun, great challenge. Hard- not impossible.
But I have a suggestion. I had to copy and paste the folder a few times so I have backups for when something goes screwy. My main problem is that a few times, actually, I destroyed the tree and there were no saplings.
I think you should put a sapling in the chest in later versions. You can obviously cope without it but I really think it would help speed up the start, or prevent people from getting stuck because they have no saplings.
I'm having this same issue. I can play in the browser but having the client is so much more convenient.
Seems we have to use the browser until some genius comes up with a fix.

It's my cobble generator 1.3 (the first two caught on fire, this one is finally cobblestone)
With this generator working I can finally build a house and expand the island. I can't wait.
This island is really.. precarious.
Also, I've never appreciated big trees more.
