It looks like BetterHud has their priority set to lowest. I'll open an issue and pick their brains as to why.

So one thing I've noticed is that any items picked up by the backpack completely bypass mods that inform the player of any items they picked up. I'm guessing they hook into an event that you also hook into, and yours fires first. Do you have an event such a HUD mod might be able to hook into, or some way for those other HUD mods to get the information they want?

Selecting all items from a particular mod usually means selecting that mod on the right and then bulk selecting everything that shows up for that mod on the left. You can select more than one item on the left at a time by the way, which REALLY speeds things up.

I can't help but notice you still link to 3.5.8 on both the first page and on your CurseForge page. Aren't those horribly out of date now?

So here's the issue. I don't know if you can tag an upgrade item with NBT data. Potions are determined by their NBT tags, not by metadata. So all splash potions are designated by "minecraft:splash_potion" and what kind of potion it is is contained in the NBT tag Potion. I think Brad's gonna have to answer whether (or how) to enter in a specific splash potion.

Wait what? This has been a feature of Backpacks! since when I started using it a year ago. If you want the backpacks to be bigger, well, I start their sizes at 6x9 and allow them in my pack to go up to 9X18, making sure that at every upgrade point they increase 9 slots. And because of this and their nesting abilities, they absolutely SHRED any other storage solution in my pack.

Go into configs and change them how you like! There's lots of options, including not using incremental upgrades so you could potentially skip all the prior upgrades if you want it set up that way, or enforcing incremental upgrades if that would be too much. You can even require different upgrades at each upgrde point instead of the standard pouch upgrade. My settings give them 12 total upgrade points which is quite a leather check honestly.

Shoot, one more thing if I could ask for it- the ability to use ore dictionary dyes instead of having to use vanilla dyes?

Okay, so I reconfigure the backpack before placing it down, and I can revert my configurations once it is placed? I can remember to do that, it just seems like a bit of a workaround when I just want to set down my main pack for a bit, or anchor my pack and grab a quantum copy of it.

So I've noticed this happen a few more times and I'm going to try to replicate it. I used shift+place to put a backpack that has multiple nested backpacks inside it, and when I open the bag, everything that was contained in the main backpack has been shoved into collection slots, while the contents from the first nested backpack fill all the slots of the placed backpack. No items are lost, but their position is shuffled around in a rather nasty way forcing me to spend several minutes looking for things.

I don't know if this requires the use of nested quantum backpacks inside a regular backpack to trigger or not, but this was a regular backpack with nested quantum backpacks inside. And inside that quantum backpack was also a regular backpack.

"base" backpack? The backpack is upgraded in Brad's Backpacks; upper tier backpacks are not crafted. Are you sure you're referring to the right backpack mod?

Edit: To be even more clear, Brad's Backpacks does not add a tanned leather crafting ingredient.

The Quantum Chest needs a backpack inside it. That is what you access when you try to use a Quantum Backpack, not the chest itself. It sounds like you put the backpack in, took a quantum backpack of it, then removed the backpack.

    Absolutely legendary mod development.

If I might point out something once more... I can't help but notice the Quantum Backpacks require an axe to break instead of a pickaxe despite using obsidian in their recipe. I dunno seems silly to me.

The backpack is configured to accept armors and weapons, right? In order for a backpack to release items from it, those items need to be on the restock list. It may be that it will also only auto accept items from smart pipes if they are on the collection list.

Edit: In fact, your collection list says "DON'T collect from this list" which is empty, so that indeed looks like a bug.

That looks like a crash that you get when you install patchouli without adding fast workbench to disable the crafting recipe book updating process. I'm not sure that's backpacks fault, but we'll see what Brad has to say.

Edit: Indeed, you are running Patchouli without fastworkbench. I ran into all sorts of crashes everywhere until I did that, and it's a known unfixed issue with Patchouli.

Also, right click a sign while the backpack is open as the primary inventory to enter a rename screen. This will consume the sign.
