Of course, the problem is that Alex's skin uses a different player model--if you are Steve, you still use the old player model, so even if you change to Alex's skin through the server, it won't look right (I have Alex as my default, so I don't know exactly how) because of the arm difference.
I see what you mean. Hopefully, the new skin features button in the settings area will eventually allow you to change the arm size.
May I point out in the EULA it points out MC does not want you using hacked clients, I am only wanting them to start enforcing that more like they are doing with the no making money on MC
So you want Mojang to go on the thousands of Minecraft servers in the world and scope out hackers using Nodus or some other hacked client? Sound irrational, doesn't it.
Mojang expects the Admins and Moderators of an individual server to remove hackers appropriately. It's not their responsibility to scope out hackers for a server the COMMUNITY owns and runs.
Also, the EULA dosen't say you can't make money off of servers. You just can't sell items that are impossible for players who don't pay to get.
You can't choose whether or not you get Steve or Alex. It's completely random. If you do end up getting Steve, you can change your skin by downloading one from the internet or creating one on your own, and then uploading it to the profile section on minecraft.net
There are a multitude of ways to change your skin. Google Minecraft skins. You'll find there's tons of sites where you can change your skin to Alex, a user-generated skin, or create your own using a program.
Unfortunately, as of now, there's no way of choosing what your default skin is, but there are plenty of ways to get whatever look you want.
EDIT: There is now a way to choose your default skin on the Minecraft website. You can look into it!
Some minigames are pretty fun but so many servers are only based on minigames. I hear Hypixel is going to release a survival server though. Only for MVP+ of course...
Alright, if you're willing to work with me on it (and this goes for anyone actually) just tell me your skype info or any other way I could contact you quickly and easily if you dont have it
It is dufdufjack67. I will be a little busy this week but I'll be sure to get back to you as soon as I can, which will most likely be during the weekend. We can also see who else would be on board for this.
ALSO I must warn you I'm not the greatest of all builders :P, but I do have 2 years of experience with being a server Admin (I actually shut mine down earlier this year). I like to think of myself as more experienced with player support and relations as well as a little bit of coding.
I love seeing videos about core SMP and what people can do with vanilla Minecraft. No mods or plugins involved, just core gameplay. I think the Achievement Hunter guys do a great job with that in their MC LPs. When they play Xbox, they don't use any Mods or anything, and whatever games or builds they come up with are in the game already. It's quite clever.

They didn't get rid of him, they just added another default skin.

But anyways, Mesas are pretty rare and a Mesa Temple seems like an interesting idea. Wonder what kind of loot would be in them?

So far, I haven't noticed anything different from before, but maybe I'll turn up the render distance and see what happens....

If so, there's a plugin called ArenaCTF on BukkitDev that does exactly what you're describing.
Check it out! http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/arenactf/

My bad, should have let that last part out. I should have just left it at until it is September 2nd everywhere.
