    Beacon Problems
    Usefulness

    - Currently if you have the resources to build beacon, you probably have equipment that makes all of the beacons effects obsolete, making it useless in Survival Single player.

    - Given the potential of command blocks, it is obvious that the beacon blocks were not meant exclusively for adventure maps.

    - Since they give all players within their radius the same benefit, there is literally no advantage to having them in multiplayer.

    Solution:
    1) Beacons need negative effects along with positive effects. My favorite effects list looks like this - is a mirror of the positive effects:
    Speed - Slowless.
    Haste - Mining Fatigue.
    Jump boost - No hops
    Night vision - Blindness
    Defense - Weakened Defense
    Sharpness - Weakness

    2) Their needs to be an 'offering' whitelist/blacklist for each beacon. So that if people want to enjoy the benefits of the beacon they need to give it a one time offering (this would work the same way one activates the beacon initially). If a negative effect is chosen the offering whitelist turns to a blacklist, and every player not in the beacons list (that is in the radius) will suffer the beacons negative effect.

    Beacon Problems
    Cost

    - Currently beacons are stupid expensive. The Cost / Benefit is Planet / Ant.

    - The reason you are able to find and kill the enderdragon so quickly is because you are cheating. The beacon block is easier to gather the resources for and construct then finding and killing the enderdragon. All arguments about it 'being some long term goal' as a justification for its expense are bad.

Solution: - Haven't figured a perfect solution for this

    1) Make the pyramid levels hollow (except the first 3x3 level).
So the levels will look like this:

    2) Add Lapis blocks to the list of accepted beacon pyramid building materials (keep reading before you say it makes it too easy)

    3) Different point values attached to the different types of blocks based on their collection difficulty.
The list would look like this sorta:

    Lapis Block - 0 Points

    Iron Block - 1 Point
    Gold Block - 3 Points
    Emerald Block - 5 Points
    Diamond Block - 6 points

    4) The sum of the point values under the beacon determine the beacons effect level. (Along with constructing the pyramid in the right shape)
Here is a quickly made up level point requirement:

    Level 1 - 9 Points
    Level 2 - 29 Points
    Level 3 - 58 Points
    Level 4 - 96 Points

    Beacon Problems
    The Look

-There is no diamond involved in the beacon blocks construction so there should not be any diamond in the default design. A bit of gold is ok - to sell the idea that there is a light in the middle - but anything else doesn't make sense.

-The Beacon (unless moded into the game) will be such a rare block that It can stand to be more elaborate than even enchantment tables. Of course if it lags the game for crappy computers (like it did in 12w36a) then it would have to be simpler.

    Solution:

12w36a with the original beam (For Fancy Graphics)

12w40a with smaller gold block in middle instead and same square beam (For Fast Graphics)

You should tweet this to Mojang.

No to music discs. Music discs are to be obtained to conventional way: Getting a skeleton to shoot a creeper
How about getting a Skeleton to kill a Witch makes it drop 11?

Ok, I'm not trying to be a hater here, I'm just sharing an opinion. I don't mean any offence by this.

Not to kick a dead horse, but it has come to my attention that out of all of these very well thought out posts, one of the few that you responded to is the one that insulted your intelligence, and you responded in a somewhat butt-hurt fashion. Also, as you stated you would "take the time to respond to these things", which I don't really believe as you have a little over 2k posts, so you obviously have SOME free time. Saying this just came off as a bit pretentious to me, sorry. This is just my two cents however, and is mostly irrelevant to this thread. Now, back to the topic at hand:

1: As many other people have said, this IS NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT. What this means, is that this is not the final design and will probably change with the next snapshot/update.

2: Refer to #1. Not to mention the fact that being a hut and not a cottage, it would tend to be made more of wood, with less stone.

3: Yet again, refer to #1. As I believe Rufus said, this is a test to see how players react to the huts, loot will probably be added later.

4: A good point, and yet it was probably nothing more than a simple mistake that was overlooked. It's not like Mojang was like "LOL OH WELLZ THEY WONT NOTICE".

5: As another user posted, witches don't exactly live the high life. They were outcasts, rejected by society. Why you should care about this? Because this IS much more realistic, and I don't want to hear the "Minecraft isn't realistic" line. However, I would like to see a slightly taller inside, maybe sink the floor down one, and lower the roof as well but use half blocks instead of full blocks.

6: #1. This is again something that was either overlooked, or a simple bug in generation. On that note, while generating a 5x5 house may seem easy, think of this: There is quite a bit of code that goes into even something as simple as MC, not to mention the fact that after looking at line after line of code, sometimes you slip up, as with any type of repetitive work.

7: This would be overpowered, as many have said. Potions could work, up to a point.

8: Cats would be nice, and as you said, they may be added so I see no reason to even mention this.

Now that I am done, let this be known: I am not trying to hate on you, I appreciate that you shared your opinion, the exectuion just seems....off, I suppose. (For example, your title could've been more..understanding, shall we say? Not to mention that this is the discussion section, which in my opinion means there should be some sort of question or poll in this.)
Thank you all for reading my rant, I do hope OP doesn't take offence to this. :)

I wish they stayed with the design from 12w36a. And give it a damn function upgrade already.

Not sure. Maybe using jungle wood instead of oak? Or maybe even Nether brick? (Nether brick would make sense.)
    Hmm...

I think it looks much better. More like a hut, you know? Just my opinion, though. What are your thoughts?
Guess it does look better. My only problem is there is to much wood. Any blocks that would blend with the dark wood?

He didn't post inside pictures. Not that yours is horrible or anything, I just don't think the stone brick looks very good for a hut. Could you post an image of your hut with the corners as logs and the rest of it wood? I imagine it'd look much more like a hut then.
    How's this?

Ick, you use fence pressure plate tables. Those became annoying ever since 1.0 (click, click, click). Yes, I would totally put cake on a mossy old floor. Plus the stone bricks contrast with the spruce wood too much. Ick, ick, ick, ick, ick.
The cake is a reference to Hansel and Gretel. I should have mentioned it, sorry. But the cake is not supposed to be clean. Also about the wood thing, should I use a lighter wood?

(I also tried to spawn a cat in, but cats are broken right now)
