What happens when you try manually inserting magic bees iron nuggets into the drawer? Does it work?

ironNugget is whitelisted so it should be immune to ore dictionary ambiguity that can cause keys to be disabled. And it oredicts fine in my local dev pack testing. And Thermal Dynamics does pull them out of a chest and deposit them in a drawer that's filled with tinker iron nuggets.

You didn't say what is doing the pulling. Some transport systems may do their own item checking.

I.....did I try manually? I think I did and it didn't work? I'll have to try that again, but I don't think it did work. I'm using Logistics Pipes to do the pulling/pushing, so it has issues, but it was able to do other oredict things, like inserting any type of ingot into the place. I'm using compacting drawers, not regular drawers, so I was thinking that might be causing some issues there (because of the interaction with Logistics Pipes and how the drawers report what's in them). I guess I'm just glad that my bees can't produce iron faster than a hopper can drop them...

Question and potential bug (bug status depends on response to the question...): Is there a reason the Magic Bees nuggets of iron don't OreDict with the compacting drawer? Modpack is Infinity Evolved, and I'm using logistics pipes to run my bee area, and my ferrous bees are making iron nuggets that I have to craft into ingots in order to send them over to the drawer controller. They are OreDict'd as "nuggetIron" just like the Tinker's and such, but they aren't getting pulled out of my apiaries because they have no destination. I know about the issue where if you can't reverse craft it it doesn't work, but I also thought that because they're OreDict'd as the same as other iron nuggets it would work.

I have a suggestion: an "upgrade" that reduces the default capacity. I like to design automated systems so that a certain number of items get buffered before the excess get sent along to further automated processing steps. Sometimes, the base capacity of even the compact 2x2 drawer is too for my purposes. Being able to reduce the storage to 2 stacks or 1 stack would be useful!

I whole heartedly second this notion! There are too few ways to automate single stacks of things. I know Thermal Dynamics has a way, but it's simultneously too complex AND too simple. And CC and Logistics Pipes can do it too, but way too complex. I like the idea of the "dirt chest". Like from iron Chests. A single stack of items. It would be SO useful.

You just need the biometrics cards, that allows others to use wireless terminals. Well, you can allow it using one. And you need the security terminal to do wireless anyways.

Is it in the Lexica botania? I'm afc right now, so I can't check. But I know that some of them require something like sending it to Alfheim and probably in a mana pool.

Ooh, thought. It would be kinda cool to have a bee require the terrestrial aglomeration plate...

My main point for being here though, has the magical apiary/booster stuff been documented anywhere yet? I want to know what I need to run them, what they do, etc. etc...

I have a question about the Everburn Urn. I'm wondering if anyone has some more solid numbers on how it works. Like, how fast can it produce lava, how much (of what) vis does it use, and any other technical things I should know about? It looks like it takes ignis vis (which would make sense) but I don't know how much it uses or how fast it makes lava. I was thinking maybe it makes lava based on how fast it can consume vis, or maybe it take a set amount per tick to produce a certain amount, or what?

EDIT: also, how fast can you pump out water from the everfull urn?

Storage Drawers is actually REALLY good with AE2 as well. The controllers work as in AND output remember. So with a single storage bus you can have a HUGE array of storage options for a mass number of things.

Hmm, is there a similar known issue with leaves being oddly shaded? In my Infinity Expert server, I have drawers with leaves in them, and the 3D image has no color (it's grey scale) on the "top" off the leaf block. Not a huge issue so I didn't report it (I'm...bad at bug reporting....sowwy....and graphics bugs don't really bug me unless they affect gameplay), but I'm mentioning it now because of the above post.

Not an AE2 solution, but you could use an external machine to do it, such as a cyclic assembler, or my preferred method a liquicrafter (MFR). Alternatively you can use soybeans, and a presser to turn it into soy milk, which I find much easier to use than milk (for this very reason). All of these solutions are of the "no bucket no problem" solution set!

Yup, it can... I use JABBA as well, but only for stuff I anticipate having more than a few stacks of. Cobblestone, obsidian, etc. Storage drawers make it really easy to get stuff together to throw in to the AM2 crafting altar since you can get everything you need displayed with pictures right in front of you and have it condensed in a manner that doesn't require walking from one point to another.

That said, a "B-Space" like upgrade for Storage Drawers would be ... in a word .. beast.

Unfortunately I foresee an issue with this. Well, one technical and one balance. The technical one is an issue with what you put it on, the controller, slave, or drawer itself. If you combine a drawer as part of a controller network, then you have an issue with how far the controller has reach. There might be a way around this, simply sharing inventories like an ender chest kind of? I'm not really well versed with the specifics of this. But another technical issue is what happens using this to extend the range of a controller, it gets wonky perhaps, especially with consideration to balance. To that, putting it on a controller itself, that might affect balance in a negative way (only need one upgrade to store effectively a 25x25x25 cube being pretty much being a super storage drive. You can have a controller connected to all of those things, and feed it from a different controller that you have interfaces with. And it gives a way to exploit this, basically having all of your storage in one place, but simple controllers elsewhere as interfaces.

If this already exists and I'm missing it, disregard, but is there a way to get a drawer to act like a trash can? In other words to simply erase whatever items are pumped into it?

Yes and no? I'm not entirely sure about a pure trash can, but there is what is effectively a Void Upgrade from JABBA you can add. Can't remember the name, look at the upgrades in NEI it should be obvious.

@crafting barrels: I'm....not so sure about that? I mean, you have to /do/ something to craft things. Neither this nor JABBA /do/ anything really. So some options: there's things like the Cyclic Assembler, the Crafty Crate (Botania), autocrafting in AE (hook an export bus set to only craft new items up to a drawer, and it will automatically craft the things that go into it if there's room/materials), lots of options.

There is no method of turning powder or petals into flowers, aside from floral fertilizer (bonemeal). While I initially thought "that's a cool idea!", I now think it's not that good idea, because of the whole moving backwards thing.

One way you can do it with redstone magic. You can use comparators to create some system that does this. Some one else will come in here with a much better method though soon enough!

BOtania and Automagy both add their own automation and storage indexing capabilities you know.

Also, there's a major issue with your logic. See, with channels, there's a challenge of planning your network. You can have a better network by being more skilled at laying it down. It's not just an issue of resources, it adds a certain skill and knowledge component to the mod that a lot of people (including me) enjoy. Botania is like that too.

As for specific complaints, 1-->2 I don't get that jump at all. I mean, the busses do specific things. Wires can absolutely connect to blocks and machines that utilize channels and AE power units. And then you need to make the bus to tell the wire what to do anyways, so having them "already installed" like you say is meaningless because there's so many.

3-->4, you cannot access those channels when they're compressed. Think of it like a zip file. You cannot access that information in the file unless you decompress it, and to do that you need a special program. This is what the P2P busses do. They compress data, letting 1 channel hold (up to) 32 channels, however these channels are no longer accessible by anything not using a P2P bus to unpack it. And once you unpack it, it's 32 channels again.

5-->6, Duh, because it's "not possible". If it requires a P2P bus to compress a set of channels, it's going to take one to decompress it. I suppose a crafting recipe to add a P2P bus to any machine would do what you want, but why would you want that?

However, I do agree with the meteor thing. I think having to find meteors (which wreck the terrain and I hate them for that), is ridiculous. Make them a villager trading thing if you want, but not meteors.
