For the pageadmin thing, it still displays your message. It should be private and broadcast in the console, so if someone sees a griefer....

I have no control over that, unfortunately.

Ok I just had to change the port number to match the one on my router and Minecraft server. still shows up as a blank white page.

You can't run the serverop listener on the same port that the Minecraft server is listening on. What errors are you getting from the browser or in the server console?

Just a quick question how do you get the remote Admining working?

Ive managed to input my IP + the port into my url bar and all I get is a blank page. it doesnt ask for the remote admin login or anything.

Do you get a completely blank page (all white) or some kind of error?

Make sure RemotingEnabled=true is in serverop.properties. Also make sure the URL is correct (something like http://127.0.0.1:25500/). Lastly, check the console and ServerOpConsoleError.txt (if it exists) to make sure an error did not occur that would prevent the remoting from working.

Its also more than likely a personal project. He wants to do it all himself and would probably refuse external help.

Piping standard input, output and error (the server outs to stderr for some reason).

I've found the cause of this problem and it is either related to the MineCraft server or Java itself. For whatever reason, on some systems the server will not work as expected if you override standard input. It is not exclusive to my application so as I said its somewhere else. I still need to figure out what exactly is causing the problems, what is wrong with the server when it happens, and most importantly how to fix it.

Agreed, you should be able to turn off cheat detection for your server.

Just because the TF2 community is hyperactive doesn't mean I want to change my sensitivity, I like the way it currently is :/

What's wrong with having options? There are times when I'd like to change the game's sensitivity without having to mess with the system's settings.

You paid for the game, not for the bandwidth/storage space/hardware to run a dedicated server.

That said, some one in the community may toss a server your way.

Nah, It'll be just one block still, just drawn differently. What may take longer is checking which polys to draw, but this is clientside.

No, he means storage space. Each one of these blocks will obviously need more space to store the information.

    Quote from PokemonGuy »
Not really, a sloped block can be treated as a normal block from underneath. On the sloped side(s), one only has to paramatise height vs x and y position on the block and act accordingly.

It would require a reimplementation of the collision code. It currently uses axis-aligned bounding boxes and if you start allowing users to create arbitrary geometry (albeit limited), things can get messy. This won't necessarily increase performance overhead, it just will be difficult to write.

Also, alot of work will have to be put into preventing users from create illegitimate geometry (i.e. a single plane, only two points, etc.).

Depending on your system you can use the OS functions. With Linux there is cron that will allow you to schedule events and in Windows there are Scheduled Tasks. Shutting down the server will be a little tricky though.

Alright guys, I'm working hard at this. Unfortunately I cannot replicate this on any of my five machines. I'm a little stumped as too how my server app is causing the MC server to fail at establishing connections.

I'm not sure if its .Net. I have 3.5 installed too and it targets 2.0 regardless. The only thing I can think of that may be different is the XP installation. My XP only has SP2, which service pack do you guys have? Anyone running into this problem on a non-Windows box?

Any way to turn off those annoying welcome messages?

Ya sorry. They were never supposed to be in there in the first place. They will be gone next release.

Can you guys send me the serverop.properties file you are attempting to use and your os specs.

Hm, I'm having issues. When I run my server normally everything works fine.

But when I run it with your application, it seems to run alright. Except my server doesn't show up on the server list.

Is the Java server actually running, does the console window display output from the server?

    Quote from Angrybanana »
Does it work with multiple servers?

Sure, there is nothing stopping you from running multiple instances of this at once. Just make sure that the remoting ports are different (if enabled) and that they are in different folders or else the backups would cross-contaminate.

They could even be stored in one byte giving 8 bit color (3r3g2b), no need for full 24 bit colors taking 3 bytes.
