Bunch of interesting ideas. I might do the combination of the waterfall and ladder, or even a mine track to ride down for fun. But the waterfall has a will nice aesthetic quality to it.

Quick question, how much damage those a pool of water prevents from a fall? Is it determined by the depth of the water or what? <_<

    Quick Edit:
I like boosters, they work... but seem awkward. Curse my desire for my aesthetics, but I trying my best not to use that and focus on the powered cart.

Woah... you can actually 'plant' reeds! I thought you could only do wheat.

Pick 'em up and plant 'em somewhere else. Can also be done with cacti.

Thanks. I'll do that next time. ^-^

Got a delimma, I got a spiral mind shaft going down to bedrock, and now I was wondering what is the best way to get up or down it. I got tracks laid down, so I can just ride a cart down, but what is a good way for it to go back up? (Cause walking is long and the chance of falling off is always a fear.)

Plus, lets make this a general thread for minecarts and steep mineshafts. :happy.gif:

Punch the reeds, you'll then be able to pick them up.

Then, make a hole, put some water in it. Plant reeds. (You can get 4 reeds around each 1x1 of water.)

Yeah, I saw this done on a video, and gave it a try. And yeah, a good 100% increase in resources, plus the cobblestone I can always use.

And plus, this method can be added to any preferred method, from spelunking to strip mining. A real versatile mean of getting ore.

Staircase my way down, and then branch/spelunk. Once I find a open cavern, I explore it till I exhaust it, and then dig more branches till I find another cavern. It's pretty random, but I like it. ^-^

I vote to keep creepers the same. You're just unlucky to have a surprise glomp from one.

I saw one just staring at me when I peek outside my cliff house one night... head just poking out from a side of a wall, staring up my stairs. I instantly shut to door and went back to mining. Creepers keep you on your toes, and be very afraid of them... and I'm all for that.

Me... still the original, but so changing Tab to be inventory.

Oh, noob question: how would I change the Left and Right buttons to Turn instead of the default Strafe. I use my laptop a lot, and trying to figure out how to do it so I can minus spending time to plug in my mouse.

Woow, so many different combinations for people. :/

ESDF is a weird one :ohmy.gif:

ESDF makes sense for motion for me because I can leave my hands on the home row keys and not have to slide them when I open chat.

Wow... never thought of that. It makes sense to me. I'll have to try it out.

Umm if you wanted to be invisible, just make a blank transparent skin for your avatar.

    Invisible man anyone?

**** stealing things, seek behind a miners an start removing all his torches behind him. Then watch him **** his pants when he realizes he has no more torches. Just imagine the sight of seeing all your torches disappear, and then the moans grow louder. <___<

posted a message on more water dang it
I either dig from the ocean slowly, dig one block, let it fill, and then dig the next block... so on so forth. It works but a little time consuming. Or put several springs on the side of the canal... not exactly how it would appear but the theory is there. I too wish that everything would simply fill up to sea level when you do a canal or artificial lake.

Personally, having a more DF based water mechanics would be nice, and creation of pumps to move water from A to B would be fun. Creating a infinite source of water with a single bucket seems a little awkward, it gets the job done for applications like a Cobblestone generator or septic system. As for a bucket, I wish that a bucket holds only 5 li (blocks) of water, and would require to either make a pump or takes back and forth from a spring to fill a reservoir or Cobblestone generator. *shrug* That's my wishes.

Having monsters break though wooden doors and windows would be fun, and a hoard of zombies trying to break into my home would be fun. A nice Night of the Living Dead sorta thing, and try to survive till dawn.

But stone and brick should be safe build material till a cave troll or ogre... or ever a dragon appears, and makes mincemeat outta your walls.

But so far me and walls are as such. (Still haven't found a reason to build such a wall, since a good 95% of my time is digging currently. :sleep.gif:; )

The water sources fall a couple blocks and hit a bump into the basin, the lava falls right in the middle. The little divot at the bottom in the top view is so as you mine the generated cobble, the water current feeds the blocks into the divot for easy pickup.

Might want to place an obsidian block where the lava hits, if you mine that block out the generator stops working and you'll probably be confused as to why.

That's looks nice. I believe I got the concept, and will give this design a shot as well. Thanks. ^-^
