Organizing is always a good thing to do. Especially in homebase and work sites, however make-shift basecamps I could care less if everything is one box, or not. Only gonna stay there for a few days or a mine-craft week exploring a cave, then leave back to my home.
Hay bales would be a great aesthetic block, let alone allow a person to store large amount of wheat in a single block. (Much like gold and iron blocks do for their ingots.)
But the pure aesthetic quality is all I would expect from them.
Villagers recognizing safe areas (houses and such) and opening/closing exterior doors is a great step in there development.
Personally, I don't like the idea of them 'talking', but the displaying of emoticons would be nice. A smile when nothing is effecting them, no house being destroyed or no local villager getting killed. A frown whenever a house or crops are ruined and last a angry frown if you killed another villager or hurt the one you're talking to. Not a big fan of villagers giving quests and whatnot.
Plus, I like villagers to have the following in the next coming snapshots:
The act like a pack... if one is attacked, all villagers in the area will attack the attacker.
And villagers should make sounds.

Nice wall by the way, but seriously, anything would be neat to see.

Link?
And are they affiliated with Mojang's coders?

Woah... that's a quick design.
And if you what to hide the pistons when closed, just repeat the design on the otherside and reversing the direction.

Can make it more compact with repeaters and such, but for a simple design this is prefect design.

Shooting out an idea: could make the cargo area (centerpiece) rails with stoppers at the ends. On the rails, chest carts.

It was staring me in the face. XD

Something that gives a live view of a block as you edit it. Opening up Minecraft every few seconds to check a tweak can be time consuming.
