This is amusing me, (and probably Notch as well) but we see a screenshot, and now we all analyzing like NASA does with an image from space. Circling any suspectable blimp... it could be the lighting, or some unknown ore. Increasing the brightness or switching hues to inspect it either more.
All of this is can't admirable... we are ALL on the edges of our seats for the next glimpse of what is in store. Will we get a shot of the new "Ghast" or see the appearance of a gate or maybe even video of hell in action!
TL;DR: Its great seeing everyone highly anticipating the update as well as Notch teasing us all with snips of his progress.
This thread does make me think all my signs have little pizzaz... usually my signs consist of.
"WARNING: ; UNEXPLORED ; CAVE SYSTEM" that is placed on a dirt wall sealing a cave system I've exposed while mining.
Probably my most successful sign is a sign on my brother's server, "Defiler's Workshop"... which was on the outside of my wooden workshop.
I see a couple less-than-interesting ones, (sorry to their creators) "The Dark Wolves", "The Old Guard", "Vampires", but they could be a lot worse.

But I can agree with some being a tad bland, but that is were personal taste comes into play. Everyone has they're fancy on naming scheme, and sometimes it can help them stand out.
OT: Loving the videos. Anyone told you yet that you have a hella sexy voice?

And watched the surprised conclusion of the first run last night. I laughed so far. Was sorta anticipating you exploring the cave till you dug at the sand above you. It was funny listening to cursing yourself for a mistake, but I now wanna hear you get surprised from a skeleton or spider.
SOOOO! Next time you see a deep cave system, explore it with the stuff you have. And you might get lucky and find some diamond (or crap yourself). Either way it would be fun to watch. ^-^
A whole new system of law and order will be place. But like any PvP game, one person will always want to kill another.
I can see it be a server side option to allow one person to inflict damage to another. But I want to see monster to be feared during SMP, and even keeping oneself safe when constructing... or "accidentally" lava incidents.
But have clan vs clan setups in servers, where one clan competes against another, having the spawn point being a neutral holy ground or sort. Not all competitions are blooding, but sabotage and rebellion always occur.
You do have paper though, and books - want to get overly logical how do you know your guy doesn't have an obession with writing everything down and drawing maps.
If your alone in a world and everything is out to kill you at night - writing and mapmaking is a sure way to keep your sanity.
It also feels better. Also a little geeky at the same time when you tell a roommate that your drawing a map of a game world.
Even if you had to hack, it is STILL making me cream myself.

lol thanks. when halloween update is out I'm going to do a new non-hack build. Just tossing around theme ideas at the moment.
Same here. Playing with building strategies and techniques, as well as trying to perfect a spiral staircase, be it external, wall-hugging, or center support hugging. Trying to make a nice spiral staircase. ;-;
