Quick moving small flying mobs, seen only in caves. Completely neutral until awakened by too much light or if you attack them (obviously). Might not want to drop a torch every 3 blocks anymore with something like this.
A hostile water mob would be nice as well, be it a carp or barracuda or even an urchin. Carp and Barracuda, extremely hostile. Urchin, passive but damages on touch like a cactus.
An imp/devil/demon/whatever (hostile range Nether mob) would be nice as well. Even give about 25% of zombie pigmen bows too.

Humans are humans. Personally, I like the human body and also attracted to it. But I can't help but say anthormorphic and alien races to be more appealing in a fantasy sense. When every I design a Traveller campaign, I can't help but develop the intricate races players will encounter, and what bizarre features they may have. What customs would they have, what physical quality they attribute, and even their biological functions. Humans are simple, but in a design aspect, we're all different as well. May not be physiologically different, but cultural, and often stress that when in a design mind.
Other races are just funner in an imaginative sense. For me, always wanted to play a Hiver in my bro's Traveller campaign. The image is what a Hiver looks like... technically, they're a starfish with no vocal capabilities, but culturally advance and maternal to lesser races.
