Was playing minecraft last night, the normal means I usually do (make a cabin, fish, and cave explore) and the only rare drop I got so far is a single Bow. If I hunt one night, I bet I could get more... but the same time I won't have a half stack of gold and iron I normally get from caving.

Griefers usually have chests full of armour so I wouldn't do much. Rather put a lever on the wall with a sign saying "Chest room" above it, but connect the lever to a lava pitfall trap. Your problem is solved.

Sadly, I know a few people that would work on. XD

With clever wiring, you could have that switch open to a storage room as well. Just be sure to press a button before flipping the lever.

I don't see anything about them ignoring armor on the wiki...although you might be right. But it makes sense that Protection enchanted armor might protect you from it.

True... I was checking the wiki as well to double check it.

But better safe than sorry, launch 6 splash potions to be on the safe side.

Griefer trap... Dispensers firing 2 splash potions of Harming II. Potions ignore armor if I remember correctly. Should kill any trespasser.

I'd rather have a way to craft all that netherack into something useful.

Same here... would like to have a means to produce nether-brick.

Since I had a diamond sword with looting lvl 1 on it, it took me around 250 Nether pigs.

    6 swords, plus a helmet... 1/36 roughly.
That's not horrible rates, and probably less if you didn't have Looting I.

Here goes the enchants for the golden swords (from left to right):

    1: Smite II
    2: Smite II
3: Smite II and Knockback I
    4: Smite III

    Nice hunting.
Roughly, how many pigs did it take you?

    YESSSSSSSSS.

...But this is in the wrong forum, Reported so a mod can move it. :3

I was debating on putting it in the suggestions, but it only appeals to be a feature needed with the snapshot updates (since the rare drops and all)

If a mod moves it, I won't mind it.

[This thread is sorta a suggestion, but it really pertains to the increased gold drops of pig-men]

Personally... with all the gold items pig-men have, sorta makes me curious how they got it. What if there was a natural source of gold in the Nether. Nothing as pure as gold in the World, but still a harvestable source in the Nether.

Nether-gold forms in small veins (3-6 blocks) in a low density per chunk in the nether. Breaking the block gets you 3-4 gold nuggets, while cooking the block (when harvest with Silk Touch) gets 1 gold ingot.

If were to have lanterns then they would be better as dynamic light sources we can hold while were moving and provide light. But the idea of dying them is great.

I don't see them being holdable source of light. Due to the programming, dynamic/moving light sources sorta break the engine to a snail pace.

It's simply another light source for aesthetic reasons.

    posted a message on Lanterns
Since the Halloween Update, I always wanted a craft-able light source that didn't look dorky like jack-o-lanterns and didn't require a Nether portal. And with the incorporation of the colored lighting system, lanterns could provide players a means to utilize color lights in the game.

    RECIPES (Up to debate)
    Glass being glass panes.
    :wood: :Glass: :wood:
    :Glass: :--+: :Glass:
    :wood: :Glass: :wood:

In a 2x2 crafting grid, put the lantern with dyes to create Stained Lanterns.
Stained Lanterns can be reverted to regular lanterns with White Dye.

The recipe effectively uses 2 logs (4 planks, 1 stick), 6 glass (1/4 of the panes produced), and 1 charcoal/coal.

    FUNCTIONALITY
Lanterns and Stained Lanterns provide 15 level of light.
Only harvest-able by hand. Breaks when using anything else (unless it has 'Silk Touch')
    Uses the 'glass' sounds.

The lantern only requires 2 slots in the texture.png: one for the base normal lantern (all six sides will have same texture) and second for the color-glass area.
The color-glass of the stained lanterns will hue changes of the color-glass area of the png, much like the grass-sides. Depending on the value of the lantern, determines what hue to change the glass.

Personally, I like to see lanterns take advantage of the colored lighting system. Craft a normal lantern, get normal light. Add dye to the lantern and it stains the glass to produce a colored light.
