Ok been away a while, now I see I have to upgrade to the new launcher which I do not fully understand yet. But in the main options on the log in screen of the actual game there are now "Resource Packs". Is this where I put my texture packs? Do I use a new version of a texture pack? Do I mod the same way by opening the .jar file etc etc?
Just need some info and a point in the right direction. Feel free to post links to very helpful posts and or videos.
Most likely asked a billion times but i can't seem to find a post so ill ask. I have a game I created long ago and have been playing and now the new worlds let you turn cheats on, well I want cheats on in my existing game aka any game before the new patch. Can this be done? how?
I notice when I do /help there are only two options:
/seed
/me
if I do /gamemode creative it says "you do not have permission to do this" but its a single player game no on a server, has to be a way to turn this on
Ultima Online Rip off, but cool feature lol. I used to write stories and put the books on my porch so people who came by my house could read them or whatever.
In the begining though anyone could write in your book and screw up your story. Later on they fixed it by adding in inks that "sealed" the pages so they could not be edited by others. Maybe look into this, cause the people I play with like to do things to my signs like change them from "Skybrook Village" to "dean loves justin beiber".
So the new jungle saplings allow you to make mega trees and I already stack these mega trees three tall before branching out to make tree forts and stuff. After about three tall your into the clouds and it's pretty cool to have these tree forts that don't spawn monsters at night to run around in.
Then the other day I was sitting around watching old school bug's bunny cartoons (LOL) and it was a jack and the bean stalk episode. It would be cool if somehow we could either plan a bean seed to grow a climbable bean stalk that went to the cloud level or such.

I love the idea of this game, you arrive alone in this world that looks beautiful only to find the horrors appear after dark. Then terrible creepers sneak up and blow you to bits destroying the land, in the nether horrible noises from every angle haunt you and now these new creepy thin black creatures appear with blocks in hand I can only hope they emit some awful sound and scare the hell outta me more.
