Bug report: If you complete the outposts in this order: cooling, desert, glacier, and forest, then die in the forest, the old man's speech won't change, and the axe is inaccessible.

posted a message on 1.9 Eronev 2: The Soul Cauldron [ADV+CTM] [Have you challenged the Cauldron?]

There's a massive, game-breaking bug in this map. When I was playing the map, I have no idea what to do, so I dug every single block in the base area to see if I missed something. I dug into a teleporter thing, and I thought that this was the thing I missed, so I continued. I went into a boss fight, and after I defeated the boss, I realized that I just accidentally accessed the final boss way earlier than when I'm supposed to.

This is my favorite Minecraft map (Eronev 2 would be better if I can figure out what to do), so I decided to speedrun it. As it turns out, you can finish the map in 12 minutes and 25 seconds, using knowledge about the terrain, intentionally dying to warp to the mansion, routing, health planning, and practice. There's still lots of room for improvement, since after this run, I got on a run that was 26 seconds ahead entering glacier but ended there because I accidentally threw my pickaxe away to unlock the lever. I also came up with a couple new strategies which I will use to (hopefully) get an 11:4x or 11:3x soon.

Video (sorry for the bad framerate):

For those of you wondering, here's the locations of the villagers you save:

    1. Flip the 2nd and 4th levers from the left in the pyramid, and then press the button.

    2. Go up the waterfall in the external gardens of the mansion.

    3. Go to the top of the tower that you enter from the roof of the mansion after going through the external gardens.

    4. Use the shovel to destroy the clay blocking the other tower of the mansion, and then climb to the top.

    5. Below the piston puzzle in the cooling station.

    6. Follow the rose trail in the forest station.

    7. Enter the cave beside the desert station, and complete the BRF puzzle.

    8. Parkour through the ice maze beside the glacier station.

I have no idea what is a shadow shellfish and the end of the worm, but Witherstorms spawning randomly is a bug.

Ok, even if Minecraft mobs aren't robots, Minecraft explosions still seem to mostly obey real life physics. A creeper explosion does up to 49 damage in-game, and it can pulverize 15 cubic meters of stone, which is equivalent to 0.77 tons of TNT. A ghast fireball explosion does up to 15 damage, and while you can survive 15 damage with no armor in game, a real-life human certainly won't be able to survive around 0.24 tons of TNT, calculated from damage, which is equivalent to around 250 thousand gunshots from a 12-gauge shotgun. And the Ender Dragon can survive 13 such explosions, and the Wither can almost survive 20. Also, I don't think creeper meat will be juicy and sweet, it'll explode once you eat it.

Minecraft mobs aren't truly living things. They're just very durable and powerful robots, and what they do is determined by their code. Their code make them have health, and when they detect that they've recieved enough damage, they'll self-destruct.

Just to make this clear, 1 Minecraft damage is around 0.016 tons of TNT, so guns certainly won't work against Minecraft mobs. You'll have to shoot them hundreds of thousands of times. Because of that, the Ender Dragon can withstand 3.2 tons of TNT, and the Wither can withstand 4.8 tons. Bombs and missles however, will work. But using those weapons will probably blow up the drops too. Why Minecraft players can kill them in-game using just swords and bows is because the Minecraft player is not at all an average human. Just think about it. He can pulverize a cubic meter of solid stone using his bare hands in a few seconds.

posted a message on Bedrock and Hardened Diamond Tools/Armor

Hardened diamond armor and bedrock armor both go over 25 armor points, and with the 1.7 mechanics, that will make you invulnerable to non armor piercing damage. That's the reason why you can't take damage from the Orespawn Mobzilla when only wearing stuff like amethyst armor.

Definitely the Ender Dragon. It destroys buildings super quickly, and it can oneshot every human, no matter what protections you take, because 1 Minecraft damage is actually around 80 million joules calculated from creeper explosions, which is way too much for a human to withstand. It damages more area than the Wither, so it will be more dangerous. It's also incredibly quick (anyone that had tried to shoot an ender dragon with a bow will know how quick it is), making it hard to aim at.

Sounds like a pretty epic mod! Will the mobs get harder as time goes on with no limit, so after 1000 Minecraft days, a zombie can oneshot you in full enchanted diamond armor?
