i kill mobs, make mob farms when i make my other farms, and i'm done, i generally use cows since i can use the whole cow and not toss anything like a sheep when i don't need wool

MC is an 'old' game now. "Everybody" knows it backwards and forewords and have 3/4 of the wiki memorized. They know how it works, it's bugs, workarounds... it's old hat, like your favorite pair of jeans. People are so bored with the basic game, that they mod it, and/or use it to create other games within MC (minigames, Hunger Games, etc.). MC itself has become stagnate. People don't want to spend the time creating their own unique worlds anymore, they want to take the shortcut and play worlds other people have created. Of course, they're so use to everything being "free", from updates/upgrades on that they're spoiled rotten.
I play a new MC-like game a lot more than MC. The graphics (which are much better), the sense of freshness, discovery, the "can't-stop-playing" feeling, and flat out 'wonder' of it that I had with MC when I was a 'noob'.... man, I miss that with MC.
I'd re-buy Minecraft 2, at full retail, in a heartbeat. I'd gladly pay for skins (if I was into skins) or new content (ie, DLC), etc., (but not for bug fixes). I'm tired of the old MC. We need better graphics (it was 'charming', but not anymore), more gameplay... make it "new" all over again so we're all 'noobs' again. Make the game interesting again.
And cut the garbage!

Using 'dust' to transmit power (that still can go up a wall)?

MC has no where to go but down. You guys can quote the "17,000 per day" figure all you want- but how many was it selling?

Hardcore mode, this is a good thing since i really like a challenge, but hardcore mode is the same! mobs can easily be avoided, and the game itself has no point (i love the game) so i don't understand how its hardcore, if they were to make 3x the mobs cut down on resources and the less hunger you have the slower you get, then it would be hardcore!
Let's say Minecraft stops updating. Mods will become more prominent, as they won't need to update (a pain to the modders) to new versions. I could imagine that some mods become so common it'd take a bit to find a vanilla server.
Yes, but if the game ran like that then the mod creators would up and leave minecraft as it would leave to many updates for them to handle, most mods update when everyone has had a bit of fun with the update therefore making a loop, if this were to stop the loop brakes.
Minecraft will last. Will OUTLAST everything. You'll see, just wait.
I wont be at all surprised if it lasts 4-6 years longer but still, i doubt it will, or a half life 3 butterfly effect will happen, we cannot say we know yet
Well, i doubt minecraft will "die". However it will fade out and be slowly replaced by better games with better graphics or better whatever, 'minecraft' has already died in a lot of people, Minigames and mods are an addition to the game, the game is a survival blocky game, take server mods and plugins away and the game would have been forgotten, alot of people say they DONT like minecraft survival more then minigames or servers. I can see people continuing for a little while but the game doesn't end in the way games end, it ends when you feel done, not when it says your done. So yes, minecraft i doubt would last much longer even with mods.

i walked out of my house (there are diamonds in a chest next to the door) and a ninja creeper blows up, i lost my diamonds, i had half a heart, but then since i fell from the blow i died of fall damage
