I support this except the taming part. I don't feel otters should be tameable. That said without teaching it how to fish I'm sure you could use them to auto fish still, just adding a hopper in the water

I do like the idea of random effects when mixing.
The potions aren't stacking, the effects are stacking and being shortened. You would still only have 1 bottle per slot. To be honest in most cases it would be useless to mix potions in this matter because there duration would shorten to a very low amount. Regen 2 already has a low duration and cutting it in half or to 1/3 would give it only 1 or 2 ticks. Everyone is thinking this would make things highly unbalanced should understand that the person could just use 3 potions 1 at a time and would be much better off.

I believe you should be able to mix potions either using cauldron or in your inventory. The duration of the potions when mixed should half and should have to be done before adding splash or lingering.
Right Click cauldron with a potion. Now the cauldron is 1/3 full with potion duration full.
Right Click with different potion. Now the cauldron is 2/3 full with each event duration halved.
Either put potions back in bottle or add 1 more.
If add 1 more the 2 in the cauldron all effects will be 1/3. 2/3 duration if you used the same potion twice.
I am aware Instant Health and Instant Damage could easily be duped if this is implamented like this, therefore instant potions would require extra code to half the effect or to render them useless in mixing.
Also mixing with water or other innate potions should work and just half duration.
Once you start emptying the cauldron it should not allow any more potions to be added until it's completely empty.
Also it would be cool if you could pick your new brew up with a bucket if the cauldron is completely full. Anyways I want to make cauldrons alittle more useful other than in redstone builds and decor.

I wouldn't have it give any XP while mining, also a down side to this is redstone and lapis would only drop 1 when using this such as if you smelt those items. Clay would give terracotta and netherrack would give nether brick.
But what I like about this idea is mainly the 2 items that would help speed up building, the sponge and sand/glass. Think how much running back and forth you do when clearing large amounts of water. If you are draining a water Temple you will likely run back and forth clearing each room and drying your sponges.

I don't see it making furnaces obsolete, just slightly less useful. I would probably make it a treasure or trade enchantment. Of course it would not be possible to use with Fortune or Silk Touch, that would make no sense.
Also when you first start the game you'll still need a furnace. Making it a treasure enchant won't change much since most players afk fish now, unless you make it so rare that it's like the Notch Apple.
Anyways destroy your old furnaces and make furnace minecarts :P.
My main reasoning for this suggestion is to make sponges easier to use.

Basically new enchantment that gives you the smelled version of the items you mine. This will save alot of time seeing that you won't have to run to the furnace anymore.
-Cut down a tree and get charcoal
-Dig up sand and get glass
-Break a wet sponge and it's instantly dry
-Mine stone and get...stone...
-Harvest Potato then eat cooked potato, too bad you can't replant you fool
Basically it's like the flame enchantment for tools

I'm for this, but can I also include unique looks for double slabs of wood and other slab blocks. 2 wood slabs stacked on top of each other looks just like a regular wood block right now. I feel that it's a waste in potential when a double slab looks the same as a full block.

I often don't like tool suggestions for it's often make better than diamond or in between diamond and iron. This tool will be different I think.
So you have defeated the Ender Dragon and are ready to go back home after you collect the Dragon Egg of course. There is currently no use for the dragon egg (except in a bedrock glitch). So here's my idea:
You somehow hatch the dragon egg, maybe using a furnace and it gives you a random Ender Tool. Either a Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, or Sword perhaps it saves the last tool you hit it with and uses that. This tool will be black with a purple Aura and can't be enchanted. To repair it, you use Ender Pearls with an Anvil. When this tool breaks it stays in your inventory, unable to be used until repaired.
What makes this tool unique you may ask. It will get better the more you use it.
Sword: Increases damage slightly with every kill (maxing +5 damage)
Other Tools: Increases mining speed when mining (max Eff V diamond speed)
Perhaps they would be other ways to modify this tool and I believe there should be a way to get more dragon eggs if this was added.
Anyways I know how people feel about changing the tool hierarchy, but I feel using the dragon egg to get this item makes it much harder to get. Perhaps we could even use it to break bedrock.
Tell me what you think about this suggestion, keep it, change it, trash it,?

I would actually like to see this for everything. Mobs, Recipes, Weather and so forth. This would be great for all versions of Minecraft, easier customization without the use of commands or mods.

Idea for more curses:
Curse of Burdening-Puts 1 dirt in your inventory every second until full.
Curse of Stone Foot-Can't swim, sinks to bottom of water. Water pretty much acts like air except you still drown.
Curse of Sinking-Randomly with every step you might sink into the ground by 1 block.
Curse of Giants-Your hitbox grows .5 blocks making it impossible to for through 2 high spaces.

I like this idea in concept, but I must agree it might be alittle OP. If the idea is to have an Ender Chest that you can share, but others can't access this wouldn't work much better than a regular chest. If it's just for more storage than I'm against the idea. You can already store alot when you include shulker boxes (27x27=729 slots of storage).
Anyways I can't see much use for this outside the fact that you can share an Ender Chest with someone. I guess if you are far away from them it might be a pain to trade items. I feel that the only good solution to this would be an Ender Key that would open the Ender Chest of the person who crafted the key.
A better solution is not to build so far away from your friends that you can't take 5 minutes to meet up with them.

I support this, but I want to add a crazy idea to this which is likely not to get support.
Idea: New iron footwear, Skates. Let's you go into skating mode when sneaking and will auto connect to rails and follow them when skating.
But yes I support this and think it could be expanded upon.
One improvement would be reworking the way you lay rails down. It's hard to get 2 rails run next to each other right now without using some tricks. Perhaps shift clicking always makes the rail straight, but the might lead into other problems.

A game should not depend on a public wiki in order to enjoy fully. We have moved far passed the days of instruction manuals and Minecraft has grown far from it's days of being for a niche audience. Anything to make the game more accessable to everyone is always welcomed in my "book".
This is like saying something like "get rid of cell phones, in my day we used a land line when calling people and went to the library to look up information".
This is not hurting anyone, it is only helping. This is not even changing the game in anyway except now you don't have to alt+tab, look up a recipe (if you knew how to find it) and then alt+tab back.
Plus you don't like it, don't use it.
