What I really like about this is that they added it to the latest snapshot already.

posted a message on Ability to make compass pointing to map center

So when you get a compass out it points to the spawn. I think it would nice if you could set a compass to point to the center of a map instead.

My thinking is if you have a compass out it points to the spawn, if you have a map in your inventory though it'll point to that map's center or the 1st banner marked on the map.

It'll work like arrows and bow, the compass would look at offhand 1st for a map then hotbar, then inventory if no maps found it points to spawn, otherwise it points to 1st map it finds.

I believe this will make exploration better.

posted a message on Autumn Biome (AKA Dead Biome)

Adding a new biomes can be tricky with current world gen. This usually isn't a problem with small biomes changes such as bamboo forests being added to jungles. If this was added I suggest it to be added as a sub biomes of forests, birch forests, and swamps.

posted a message on Lightning Physics or Channeler

I think lightning burning down a wooden structure is part of survival and already has a solution with turning fire tick off.

It really depends on the trade off of, fire spreading means my house could burn down vs no fire spreading means I lose 1 tiny aspect of survival.

Personally, I like the fire tick off which adds alot of building potential such as using fire on top of hoppers for grand lighting.

No Support, though I would've supported before the introduction of tridents. Charged creepers used to be hard to get without a farm.

Maybe if it was able to be hung like a painting in game, still feels a bit out of place.

posted a message on Customization for Servers

If I understand this right, you want a GUI for OPs on a server to make it easier to customize the server? If this is the case 100% support. I mean /gamerule and other such commands are useful, and many of what you want can be done with command blocks, but I'm all for easier controls and more customization.

Having to type /gamerule or coming up with a command block solution is not intuitive for most players. Yes, they have made commands much easier, but it doesn't mean adding other ways of customizing a server is a bad idea.

posted a message on Make food great with micro stat boosts.

There are lots of foods in the game and the only use for each is full hunger and saturation.

I do like all the foods, but most food is unused once you have a solid supply of foods.

My idea is go with a "you are what you eat" approach and eating alot of some foods will change your stats. Perhaps eating alot of carrots will give you a dim night vision. Eating alot of meats could buff your strength a bit. Of course eating alot of anything without a well balance could give negative effects as well. Sure you can eat meat all the time, but your overall max health could decrease if you don't add some veggies. If you die these stats would be reset of course.

Here are a few examples of food stat boosts:

    1) Meats add to strength (need to eat about 50 to get +1 damage)

    2) Carrots add night vision (a dimmer version than the potion)

    3) Bread increases stamina (running takes less hunger)

If you don't eat these foods at least once per 25 times eating there bonus stats would go away.

Any more ideas for food buffs or another way to make food more interesting?

I see little harm in this. Being able to move the cursor on the sign would be nice too. I'm human and therefore prone to mistakes. I'd like easy ways to fix those mistakes instead of deleting pretty much an entire line to do so.

posted a message on 'Wrap' Minecraft Worlds

I wouldn't mind this change except the fact that it'd require a way to blend both corners of the world to match in biomes and would run into problems when expanding or shrinking the "wall".

posted a message on More additions to Book and Quill

Seeing the attention the Book and Quill are getting now and days I figured I'd add some features I'd like to see.

    1) Ability to add images of items to the Book via Alt+hotbar slot or by dragging said item over the Book when typing. This would not consume the item.

    2) Maps would be added to Book talking up most of the page(Maps are stored via map_id so this should take very little data).

    3) Colored texts, though this can be done right now it's not intuitive.

    4) Custom book covers via banners?

Anyways, what do you think of these ideas?

    which are good?

    are they all bad?

Either way I'm excited for 1.14. woot!!

posted a message on Map Marking using map marker blocks.

To be honest I can't think of a good recipe for this. I would like it to be an easy recipe, but also make some sense.

The item works s sort of like a beacon but for maps, perhaps a beacon recipe, but replace the glass with iron and the star with quartz.

This would probably also be good for map makers.

    posted a message on Sharks!

My only problem with sharks is that they would be really hard to deal with early game. So my opinion is a boat should be able to put run a shark and they should only hunt you if you are injured or if you provoke them. This is because sharks in real life are attracted to blood.

Perhaps sharks could drop their fins, but that would be contaversal as shark finning is illegal in most places. So maybe just fish.

Forget taming the shark, I say make it like riding a pig. Put meat or fish on a stick and a saddle on the shark. When you attack something, the shark finishes it off, but if you are hurt the shark will quickly turn on you.

posted a message on Map Marking using map marker blocks.

I'd like when making a map to be able to mark locations. Making a marker by have requires big structures to be built on the top level of the map. What I was thinking is there could be a block that you can put anywhere, even underground and when the map updates that area will drawn a picture like it does with the woodland mansions.

Here's the idea. A block that is constructed that holds 1 non-block item which will be analyzed to determine what the marker will display. This block can then be planted underground and be out of sight. So what icons would we see?

Redstone, Food, Saplings, Mob Drops, Equipment, etc...

Also perhaps add buttons for generic symbols such as an X, House, Boat, Cow, Chicken, etc. Instead of items you could use a dye then to color that icon.

I know it would be alot of work with all of the items in Minecraft, but I believe it would be worth it.
