Other than aesthetic purposes I see no need for this, in fact I don't see how it would fit Minecraft's style.

posted a message on Dispensers should place blocks

Basically I think dispensers should place blocks instead of throwing the entities. This would make concrete making easier (though it's already easy). New door designs would be possible with ability to store the door blocks(likely sand, concrete, anvils) in chests.

If you don't like the feature, it wouldn't hurt most current designs since we still have droppers.

What do you think, should this idea be added, expanded upon, limited to certain blocks or just not a good idea at all?

I've made a command block version of this idea before in 1.12(not sure if it works in 1.13+) that works with sand, gravel and anvils. I'll be happy to upload it if anyone wants to tinker with it later.

Just thought about this, why not have ender chests be linked to the player unless that ender chest is named. If ender chest is named it's linked to other ender chests with the same name. This will allow 100s of trillions of different ender chest links.

Snapshots are going to be unstable and have lag due to the code not being optimized yet and are also prone to bugs. If you feel there is a bug in a snapshot, you should send a bug report instead of posting it here.

Sounds awesome. Id like to see some nether trees as well, but with the property of not burning. The trees could have a deep red tint with a dark bark since the only nutrients in the nether would have to come from netherrack.

Anyways bones in the nether sound awesome.

posted a message on Gold - Enchantability expanded.. Making Golden items useful

I think 1 simple fix for making gold useful would be the ability to combine gold enchanted tools to other tools of that kind.

Example: Gold pickaxe can transfer enchantments to diamond, iron or wood tools with use of an anvil. At the cost of the gold tool of course.

How would this be different from books? You will get the enchants of that tool instead of something random.

If this seems OP perhaps only the top enchant will transfer.

posted a message on Rethinking minecart rails system

I do believe improvements are needed to the rail system. I'm not sure so keen on adding a new tool for rails, unless that wrench could double as a tool for other blocks, such as glazed terracotta and observers and other Redstone components.

As for placement the current system I believe is fine if this wrench were added. When making straights I agree it should orientate to the player but turns should still auto connect with a wrench able to break that connection.

I can't think of anyways to improve minecarts themselves except for maybe 1 special rail. A switch rail that let's you choose to continue straight, go left or right depending on if A or D are held.

As for transportation minecarts are hardly used any more due to much faster forms of transport. There are special cases for use of a minecarts and special properties that minecarts have that other forms of transport don't such as server holding position instead of the client.

Yet I don't see this being a priority at the monment. A wrench would be nice though if they take anything from this.

posted a message on More Mob heads... and uses for them

Perhaps heads can be used to keep those type of mobs from spawning if used in some structure?

A simple one would be planning on a beacon or in the way of the beam to make the beacon double as a mob proofing area.

Over powered? Perhaps, but beacons and mob heads are often thought of late game. Plus this would give people what they've wanted for a long time, "A way to build using dark light levels".

If you think it's OP, perhaps just have it adjust the light levels required in the area so it must be 4+ to keep mobs from spawning, instead of the current 8+.(I think it's 8+ now, been awhile since I paid attention to light levels)

This would probably also increase potential dark room mob farm designs as instead of adding reason doors to the ceiling people could just add skeleton, zombie and spider beacons to make an efficient creeper farm. This might seem as easily exploitable, but current mob farms already exploit weird game mechanics.

    Anyways that's my idea.

posted a message on Saddle and Horse Armor Enchantments?

Seeing that Saddles and Horse Armor are non-stackable and are equitable to horses, I find it weird you can't enchant them. So here's some ideas I had for Enchantments:

    [Saddles]

    Lightweight: Increases speed of horse/pig

Calvery: Horse won't slow down when aiming with bow

    [Horse Armor]

Regen: Horse will gain health back faster.

Rampage: Horse will push back and slightly damage mobs when running into them. Also breaks lead blocks when colliding with them.

    Any opinions on this?

That's not a bad idea either.

In fact, that might be even better: you won't need to find or breed a village to send/receive mail. And you could summon a bird by using a special whistle or something. And if you kill one, they'll avoid you for a very long time AND you get cursed with bad luck effect that lasts a long time as well.

But maybe a magical giant eagle or a griffin instead?

A pigeon hauling stacks of heavy items sounds a little too unrealistic. )

When had Minecraft been realistic with what could be held? Anyways I think a pigeon works for historical value, if we were to change to a different (more magical) bird I'd go with an owl, for the Harry Potter reference.

As for this not working due to chunk loading, you could have a chance of failure if the person is logged off or drop off the items at the bed of the player.

Now dropping in non loaded chunks doesn't need to load the chunk to do so. The way to solve this is to place the item in a quarry which can load when the chunk is loaded or the player logs on or respawns.

This quarry can just be a file listing items waiting to mail and can quickly be scanned to check for undelivered items. This literally be done with a few lines of code. Perhaps this could even be added to the player day files which is used to tell the client the inventory and position of the player when they login. I don't see deaths, log outs or dimensions slowing things down nor requiring chunk loading.

posted a message on New Mail Man Villager ::: Send correspondence and gifts! Operate a mail-order store! Buy and exchange stuff between the players!

Personally more I think about it, a bird sending mail sounds better. The bird would grab the item and fly 128 blocks away from the player sending the mail. Then would appear 128 blocks from the person receiving it or send it to your bed if no one is selected.

This action would take 3 in game days per bird. This would probably also require a special item to interact with the bird, perhaps pigeon capsules. I know pigeons and parrots aren't the same thing, but I feel think would give more reason to own birds in Minecraft.

posted a message on Ultamite Ideas
    Quote from eletricdeathyt»

Hello welcome to my thread this thread will have over hundreds of ideas (not really) from your player other players mobs, blocks, mechinces, biomes, gameplay, and textures. Remember the ideas will be in paragraphs

    Idea 1:Players Movement

    Ill do this later

    Idea 2:Mobs

    Mob 1:Villagers

Villagers will now have 2 children 1 male 1 female.

    Villager 1:Mayor

The mayor will be the owner of the village if the player kills the mayor or an mob kills the mayor the player can either become the new mayor or the player can refuse and the village will fall due to there being no mayor.

If the mayor has a child before the mayor dies that child will become the new mayor when the old mayor dies.

The mayor will spawn in the town hall

    Villager 2:Builder

The builder will make more buildings for the village

    I will add more soon.

First this forum is not for posts of multiple ideas unless they all are connected in some way.

Ignoring that fact, I don't like the idea of separating villagers into male and female, just doesn't fit anything else seen in Minecraft where all mobs are asexual.

Villagers that build seems to take away the role of the player to build for villagers. I'm sure expanding on this idea could help, but for now it seems pointless.

This idea is good for a mod I think, but I don't feel it fits vanilla.

How does this benefit singleplayer in any way?

With some tweaking I think this idea could improve single player though I'm not exactly for this. If you add mailboxes this would work in single player by letting you send stuff to different places though the mail instead of going there.

Personally I think adding this functionality to the bird sounds better instead of adding a mail man.

posted a message on More Mob heads... and uses for them

Now since charged creepers are easier to come by via trident, don't you think we need more mobs to drop heads?

This is already done on many servers via loot tables, but I never understood why it's not in game. A charged creeper kills anything should drop that head including the player head.

Now I think we should also have more uses with these heads, but not sure exactly what. Personally I'd like a disguise potion made of them.

Either way, 2 heads are better than 1. ...Sorry had to add that
