Well, you will never learn anything without trying, will you? Or doing some research, at the very least. Believe me, at the beginning of this summer I knew probably just about as much about computers as you do. However, I googled "how to build a computer", started looking up parts and formulated a build, ran it through the nice people here, got told I was an idiot and was given advice and a much better build, ordered the parts a couple of hours ago, and will do my best not to plug anything into the wrong ports when it gets delivered sometime next week.
Stuff like this may seem too daunting to get into, but all you really need are people to help you muddle your way down whatever path you chose to take.
That said, if you really don't want to deal with it, just tell us your budget and we'll help you find the best desktop for that price.
I'm starting to do some research on how to build my own PC, but by building a PC, do I exactly "build" the whole thing, including how it works, the power button, the USB ports, or is it just slacking together a bunch of new specs. My budget would be at least $550.
If you can't identify that, chances are that you have an integrated graphics card (built into your motherboard) (TIP: integrated graphics tends to be outdated the instant it is released, so don't go with it unless you have no other choice) (TIP: you also can't upgrade these, so seriously, don't buy these) Also, if this is a laptop you are talking about, it is extremely likely you have integrated graphics. (Unless you have a gaming laptop. But those are EXPENSIVE)
And on your RAM, a unit might be helpful. I will assume you mean 2GB, as any other value is oppressively low or excessively high.
Anyways, I would say that your current computer is outdated, and there is no way in hell you will play any sort of game on it other than minesweeper. Definitely buy a new computer.
Now then, what do you want for your computer? Laptop, desktop, or do you feel up to building your own pc? If you go with laptop, you will pay a lot for good specs. If you go with a pre-built desktop, you will get better specs than a laptop, but you still won't get the best bang for your buck. If you build your own, you can get much better specs and cheaper, but you need to do research, run it by people who know about this stuff to ensure you have a balanced build (and probably completely redo your build) and then you need to actually put the darn thing together.
Then I would go for a desktop, I do not know how to build a pc.
My computer sucks, I can't run any game, I checked the 'Can you run it?' website and I checked lots of games that I really would like to play and be able to run but I can't run any of them. I am looking into getting a new computer, if I get a new computer, what computer specs do you recommend to at least run decent games (example: almost every steam game).

Since I been reading a lot of creepypastas I decided to make one >_> don't worry its gonna fail.
It was 10:00pm at night, I never finished my Super Mario game, I started it up, loaded my save file, started playing, I played for about an hour but then, something wasn't right, my Mario character started flashing, just another lag in my game I thought to myself, a goomba started walking in front of me I tried jumping on him but, the game started to lag horribly, I heard a laugh in the background, I thought it was my little sister but no, it was on the game. I got closer to the tv and turned it down slightly and finally the game loaded and mario died once I jumped on the goomba, I remember having at least 46 lives but it just said game over, I waited for it to load, nothing happened. I started pressing a bunch of buttons but nothing would happen. then I saw a bunch of random capitalized letters on the bottom, just to make sure I went on my laptop and decoded it, it read "Whisper... my death to you", it didn't make ANY sense to me, I went make to my game and decided to try something very unusual, I whispered into my wii remote saying "My death to you", nothing happened. I then looked at the screen hoping for something to pop up, more letters, I went back onto the computer and decoded it with a really geeky program so I could really find out the strict right perfect answer, it read "I shall have revenge" then I heard some wind blowing near my ear, it was loud, I turned back, but nothing. I ignored it all and checked my e-mail to make sure of anything thinking its just someone pulling a trick on me and trying to re-create some fake creepypasta I don't know about, I heard a scream in the background on my computer, of course it was my computer, I had headphones on. An email appeared with no name, I clicked it and it read, "one person will do a lot to get revenge, mostly twisted ones." I was really confused, looked back at the game, it went to the main menu, I thought for a moment, I did download a few things for the Wii recently, same with the computer, problem is, how did this person know my email? My email is very well hidden and I rarely share it anywhere unless its required or I really want to. I went back to my game and looked closer at the screen, thinking I saw something. I heard more screaming. I saw a dark person in the background of the game, it seemed like blood was dripping from his eyes, crying blood? I was starting to get freaked out, then I reached for my Wii remote to hopefully get rid of it, then I heard a voice on the game saying "I hate you". Suddenly I felt cold, my Wii remote was shaking when I held it, the dark person suddenly grabbed a knife, I started thinking it was my download file on the Wii, I went to the Wii menu and removed all data from my system, only one item wasn't removed, it was a file, Nintendo Wii's have files? I looked closely at the name, then the whole screen shook, and the name enlarged onto my screen, it was in some sort of different language, I started shaking, then I called my friend, as he worked for Nintendo and developed part of the Wii system, his voice sounded very cold and scratchy, he started whispering. I could hardly understand what he said it sounded like he said "help me", then the phone hanged up, I looked at my laptop only to check my email, I had a new email. I clicked it, it was from my friend. I downloaded the attachment, it read as a .RAR file but instead it came up in windows media player, I saw my friend staring, it was almost like we were on video chat playing stare contest, I saw his door open, I started shaking, I quick called him, he picked up the phone, I realized the video was live, I told him to turn around, "Don't give me one of those heart attack jokes again" he said. My heart was pounding, "TURN AROUND OR DIE" I yelled loudly into the phone, he turned around then, "All this, and you give me this" he said, I was deadly confused. Once the dark figure got closer to him he stood up and the dark figure, looked like the dark person I saw on my Wii. I was close to a heart attack, my skin felt extremely cold, I was shaking, my heart was pounding, I started breathing really fast. The video went black and I heard a really loud scream, I quickly turned down my volume, closed out every window I had open, shut off my Wii and darted out my front door. I started running down the street to my friends house, knocked on the door, he opened it, his eyes were blank red, I passed out, I woke up inside of his house. "What happened, are you alright? he said. "Are you trying to get me killed? what is with all of this crap?" I said. "I have no clue what your talking about" He said, his eyes started to glow red, and his door flung open, only to see the dark creature again, I screamed. I darted toward the dark figure and shoved him to the floor, he stared at me. It almost looked exactly like me, but with a black robe on. I threw him at the wall and ran outside. I got back home and saw him again, in my house, "Why are you running from me?" he said. I darted toward my Wii and turned it on, Mario popped up. I smashed my tv screen, and the dark figure vanished. I went to my laptop and Mario was on the screen. Someone was knocking on my door, I opened it. It was my friend, "I don't know what this is all about but it sure is gonna give me a heart attack, please stop this madness" he said. I looked at the mario on my screen, it looked like it was crying blood, then I felt something rushing down my face, it was blood. I looked at my friend, "Done" he said. Then he vanished, I was about to pass out but I held myself up and stared at the wall, only to see Mario, I started to think this was my dream. My body started shaking in an unusual way, my friend appeared only to tell me "It is my fault". I passed out again and I had a weird dream of my friend, standing in his room playing Super Mario Bros, and then he fainted and the music was getting louder, it sounded warped. I woke up on my floor in the middle of the day around 8:23AM, I started thinking it was all a dream, I went on with my normal day ignoring all thoughts of it.
Some important side notes:

2. This is my first creepypasta I ever wrote.
3. I know this is epic fail but please don't rub it in.

I know it kind of sucks and it isn't super scary but don't rub it in.
All f2p games are a scam for the most part and have to pay to enjoy them. So, unless you wanna play vs people with a huge advantage I wouldn't play them unless you wanna pay.
Advantage you get over f2p users for that Global Agenda game are pretty huge. Hell, you might not ever be able to log in if the servers are busy...

I'm scared just reading this, if its true then I will never touch my TF2 game EVER again, if its fake then that's ok I guess. This so needs to be a creepypasta!
Note: If you are on windows you should have pressed the "windows" button on your keyboard to minus the game then go to task manager and shut it down, if that didn't work then to bad.
Step one: Make a bunch of those 'garbage' annoying commercials of random products I make, to earn some money of course.
Step two: Once rich, buy a bunch of stuff needed to make robots.
Step three: Once robots are created, program them to explode in 10 seconds after switching them on.
Step four: Take over the Country with my robots.
Step five: Force everyone to build some play lands
Step six: Force everyone to build LARGE and LOUD speakers, so the whole world could hear my HORRIFYING music that took me 5 seconds to put together (Evil right?).
Step seven: Become terrorist, send a secret package threw the mailing system.
Step eight: Ask the receiver to open the package, threw a phone call (Disguised voice of course).
Step nine: Once package is opened, world will be destroyed, leaving one person, and me, alone, I will have the power of electricity, the woman (notice its not plural) will have power of mind and earth. (A bit unrealistic but hey lets have some fun).
Step ten: expand are tribe, the men shall have power of electricity, the women (now its plural :wink.gif:) shall have power of mind and earth.
Step eleven: I have now dominated the world, have fun with your powers...
