Seems dimensional doors bugs dynmap, once someone enters a door it stops updating on the webside requires reboot to get it updating again. I receive no errors from either dimensional doors or dynmap when this occurs.

me and my friends came up with a very good idea to get the donations

what we will do is when we get a lot of players and they build stuff we will threaten to shut our server down for ransom so

like they have to pay $200 if they want to ever play again

so we threaten them we will shut down after they played for days.

then when we get a few grand we wont do that anymore. please sponsor us

    Cough Extortion Cough..

Sorry about that, got a cold...

Also, how do I get a word ip and not just those random numbers?

Do you even know what your talking about? IP addresses are numbers.... their separated into Octets and represent the virtual path to a device...

    Quote from FWright

Hey, over at Hubtec.net, you can get a 1 GB Bukkit server for only $4 a month! You get FTP, great customer service, 1-click plug-ins (so you don't have to upload plug-ins), back ups, and more! It doesn't come with DDoS protection. You must rent a premium server, $7 a month, for DDoS protection.

For a dedicated IP, it costs $2 extra a month. For an IP like mc.minecraft.net, you have to buy a domain.

    A dedicated IP = 184.38.2.43
    non-dedicated = 184.38.2.43:25586
    or
    Dedicated IP = mc.minecraft.net
    non-dedicated = mc.minecraft.net:25586

You do not need a dedicated IP for a dedicated word IP if your domain service offers SRV records.

DDoS means Denial of Service. When someone "DDoS" you, you can't access your server until they stop DDoSing you. DDoS protection means that you can still access your server even if you are being attacked.

Dedicated IP = mc.minecraft.net <----------- Not an IP
    non-dedicated = mc.minecraft.net:25586 <------------ Not an IP either

Your referring to domains.... Seriously people that go into this business NEED to learn about their product... I can make ANY domain look like its dedicated and not require a port number. It doesn't require anything fancy either, and no proxy's. Once again, refer to this.

Yes, I had this exact problem, as well as a lot of my pistons won't work. I spent the whole day trying to work out what mod was the problem, and all roads point here. I think it may be due to some invisble blocks, but I don't know.

This has already been mentioned multiple times, including by myself. Disabling the "heat blocks" or w/e from the config also has noted NOT to fix the issue. So if someone says to do it, then just read back a couple posts... its already been noted it does not work. Most likely the solution is just to backdate until a fix is made which could be next year.

Huge issue with redstone with newest version of railcraft - sometimes pistons will power sometimes they wont. Literally had a piston sitting by a torch powering it... didn't turn on... randomly herd the piston sound and came back to it and it decided to randomly power? Backdated older version of railcraft I had (first 1.5.1 version) and everything is working as far as redstone goes.

-Edit- Found out it was due to a railcraft glitch.

I think it was quite clear when I said that this should be taken to PM if you have further questions; request topics are not debate sessions. Rightly you should have posted in PM from the get-go, rather than spamming up the topic with insidious posting and accusations requiring our defense.

A good business shouldn't need to defend themselves over bad morals and inaccurate information. I merely pointed out to the requesting party that you were giving wrong and overall irrelevant information about your service.

What they said was in no way improper, nor what I said. Core processing speed is a valid means of measurement, if less used that overall CPU speed (though personally I dislike using speed as a means of measurement at all; Bulldozer is the prime example of why it is not necessarily a good comparison). Therefore, because it was not flawed, I saw no reason to correct him, and simply responded in like.

I did just that, as a matter of fact:

Is building the nodes not enough knowledge? I fail to see any of your questions that I've not answered to a sufficient depth which would cause to to think that.

If you've further questions, let's please take this into PM.

Re-read your original post, you did not do that. You said

We've got 32GB dedicated servers, up to 72GB. Our 32 GBs ($150) are OK, with 27.2 GHz thread processing speed, solid states are optional.

Hi, sorry you feel that way. I responded in thread processing speed, because it is clear that is what he is measuring against: he claims to have had 15 GHz power on his previous node, but the fastest CPU clock achieved was around 8.5 GHz running a Bulldozer on liquid nitrogen. I think I can safely assume that no host uses that kind of cooling, even if they do use AMD (haven't seen on). If you'd like more information about our specs, come talk to us on live chat.

Also, this is the whole node we're talking about, not one single sever. Hence, having more threads is good, because different servers can run on different threads. In addition, the latest versions of CraftBukkit have begun to thread some of their processing, and many plugins (which is what takes up a fair amount of the processing power on most servers) have at least some amount of threading; most of the popular ones are.

    Have a good day!
    Connor @ Host-Seed

P.S.: I do know what the Cray Titan is. I happen to have used a GTX Titan in one of my recent builds, it's an incredible card!

I understand what you were trying to do, but it was improper. Rather than trying to take advantage of someones lack of understanding about hosting. You should have corrected him, yes I understand some people may not like the answer but in the long run it will make you as a company appear much more respectable and over all will make you seem more knowledgeable. Also, not clarifying to someone about what they will obtain on their server is shady and makes you look bad. In the original post you should have listed "our server node's thread processing is x.xghz" if you wanted to be truthful. Otherwise your just making it seem like you have a super computer (which is what Cray Titan is). Like I said, know more about your area of business. I mean you obviously know about some hardware but have no clear morality to your methods of advertisement.

Hi Broluigi! You should come try Host-Seed.

We've got 32GB dedicated servers, up to 72GB. Our 32 GBs ($150) are OK, with 27.2 GHz thread processing speed, solid states are optional. But for just $60 more, the 72GB servers pack massive 36.16 GHz of thread processing speed in with solid state drives for an enormous speed boost. We've also got a 64GB in between, so it all depends on your budget.

Sound like something worth checking out? Check out our website or check out our MCF posting for more details. I'd be happy to talk with you on Live Chat on our website if you're curious.

Your thread processing spew is total crap, even if you do achieve 36.16ghz in total computation it wouldn't matter. Why? Because Minecraft isn't PROPERLY multi-threaded. There are only 3 threads (could be 4 now, honestly not sure if its 3 or 4) that are usable by minecraft in general. Ergo, having 237409247029472094720497 threads open is useless for 1 server.

This being said, Hosts should provide RAW CPU information rather than making it sound like they have some sort of Cray Titan. If you dont know what that is... you shouldn't be in the hosting business.

posted a message on [1.5.2][Forge] The Herbology Mod Ver. 1.1.2 - Bugs corrected. New herbal growth. New ingredient info system!
    Quote from CaptainFord

Compatibility for other mods is almost finished. If all goes well, I'll have it available by tomorrow.

With regards to the medicine, I'm still trying to make it work with metadata, but I find myself continually confounded in my attempts. That's why I've undertaken something new recently: cauldron brewing. I've been looking into giving the cauldron a use beyond just holding water so that you have a legitimate reason to make it and have it on-hand... and I've managed to do just that.
Functionally, it's working, but I'd like to give it some aesthetic touches before I make it available. I'll release it alongside the Garden Variety update with the herbal medicine feature intact, let you guys experiment with both and then remove whichever one is better received.
The short version is you take ingredients up to the cauldron, drop them in and they form a curative herbal brew that you can scoop out with a wooden bowl (like you needed another reason to make them with this mod, right?). Depending on the added ingredients, the outcome can be very, very potent; either with a concentration on one particular effect or a huge range of them (up to 11, as a matter of fact), the possibilities are immense.

Anyways, that's what I've got in the works. Until the next update, keep crafting everyone!

Only thing I'd recommend is to ensure it works with Thaumcraft, as Thaumcraft uses cauldrons in the same way. If you can make compatibility work, it would be an awesome feature to add.

Looks like herbology still has issues with forestry - http://pastebin.com/QTiiV3NU

Forestry is a pre-requ for ALOT of mods. I would HIGHLY suggest working on compatibility with it. Alot of users like myself wont be able to use it until you do.

I think they may be having the same issue we have, after server reboot all homes/warps/etc are all erased. Seems to not be saving that information.
